The food at the restaurant was good..no complaints
The air conditioning in the room was not as expected…for the very hot days it was not cooling at all
Location
Food variety and kevel was not up to expectations
Good location.
Restaurants on site. Tours desk on site.
Outside maintenance could be improved.
Good hotel with a monumental lobby. The front desk staff were amicable and helpful. The room was decent size with a renovated bathroom, clean, quiet. Parking may be tight if there are lots of guests with cars. The location is good, some 15 miles from the Ulara/Ayers Rock park
- Lage des Hotels sehr gut für Ausflüge
- Pool vorhanden
- Zimmer ausreichende Größe
- Personal teilweise freundlich
- Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis mäßig
- Service teilweise nicht sonderlich freundlich
- Restaurant-Preise sehr teuer im Verhältnis zur Qualität der Speisen (>100 Dollar Abendessen pro Person)
Just beautiful
Not a thing
Close to town. Swimming pool.
Rooms probably need updating. Need more facilities for children.
The best hotel in town, not a real 5* but a very good 4*. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Uluru. Great restaurant, bar and room service options, lovely staff, quiet vibe and comfy beds.
Not really the hotel’s fault but it does get excruciatingly humid during summer and if you can’t withstand intense A/C like me it’s harder to enjoy the rooms. The corridors are not 5*. Trolleys are left unattended all over the place and the painting/floors need refurbishing.
The rooms are very clean and smell funky. We went about our day but called first to ask about housekeeping and were assured they would be here. Got back at 3:00 and no housekeeping. Called and was assured they’d be around shortly. We left again and came back at 5:00, and still no housekeeping! Called AGAIN and still nothing. Keep your expectations LOW at this property. It’s more like a Holiday Inn Express!
The hotel is certainly not 5 star and in places is looking rather tired. The service is patchy and the communication is non existent when there are issues. The restaurant is very overpriced for both breakfast and dinner these are both buffets and in our opinion not worth the money, but you are limited to the number of restaurants on site.
We feel they have a captive audience and play on this as you can’t go anywhere else
I spent four nights here and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The staff are lovely - friendly, helpful and always seem happy. The food was good, the location great, the options for excursions were long!
I've seen some whiney pants reviews complaining that it is expensive. Well of course it's going to be a bit more expensive - look where you are! In the middle of nowhere. All the food and drink has to be brought in, the staff have to live on site and all your options catered for, even if you dont use them.
There is a supermarket and a handful of cafes five minutes walk away if you dont want to eat at the hotel. There are also other hotels where you can eat too.
Some of the common areas could do with a lick of paint, but the rooms are big, well furnished and a great shower. I was lucky that I was on the top floor so had a fantastic view of Uluru from my balcony.
All in all, I really like the place and hope to come back some day.
The rooms are spread out across the property in a maze of motel‑style interconnected buildings, which makes the layout quite confusing. It took us a long time to find our room, and the hidden elevators didn’t help. Although porter service is advertised, it was nowhere to be found during our stay.
That said, once settled, our room was excellent. The staff were consistently kind and efficient, the pool was great and very welcome, and we enjoyed all the dining options we tried (room service, buffet breakfast, etc.). The laundry service also turned out to be very good.
One point to note: although the hotel is presented as a Pullman and sold through Accor, the connection to Accor felt rather weak. This can be an issue if you plan to make use of benefits from the Accor ALL loyalty program.
Really enjoyed our stay at Sails in the Desert. Perfect base for exploring Uluru. Stayed 2nts here in early January. Rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable with great air-con to keep us cool in 44 degree heat! Pool was a good size and well maintained. Didn’t have dinner here but had a club sandwich at lunch and the breakfast had good choices. All food we had was enjoyable. Easy to meet for trips as meeting point was right outside hotel entrance. Walkable to all other accommodations and the outback bar or there was a shuttle bus that looped the resort and camel farm every 10mins or so. Would stay here again.
