Pros:

Lovely staff, cleanliness, free parking, access to the national swimming centre.

Cons:

The rooms need a facelift because they're a bit tired (old panelling, old carpet, old furniture, etc. It seems stuck in the late 80s early 90s which is a vibe.

Clean, comfy and as expected for the price
Pros:

The hotel is a great choice if you have an event on campus, it's clean with very good showers and comfy beds.

Cons:

Some of the older style rooms have a movement based light sensor in the bathroom (no light switch) so if you go in in the night the lights come on! Apparently not all rooms have this so I would recommend asking when booking if it's something you want to avoid.

Not for us
Pros:

Buses run regularly a few hundred yards away, free parking.

Cons:

Swimming pool is not part of the hotel but belongs to the university, reception very uninterested, called them as there were a few issues, TV did not work, bedside lamps flashed like a disco, they said they would send someone, half an hour later they called back to say they didn't have time to send anyone but if we were happy to move we were welcome to go to reception to get a key for another room, bearing in mind there are no lifts.
