Relais Orso

The hotel is in a prime location. It is close to many major attractions, especially Piazza Navona and the Pantheon. You can easily walk everywhere or use public transport to get around quickly. Before our stay, I read some reviews complaining about a damp smell. This scared me a bit because of bad experiences in the past, but as someone who is sensitive to this, I can say there was no damp smell at all in our room (Room 203). The room was cleaned every day. This was great because we took several showers a day due to the heatwave, and our towels were changed daily. Also, the room had air conditioning, making it a very comfortable experience. The lobby staff were available 24/7, and they helped us right away whenever we needed something. The room had everything you could ask for, including a bath kit, coffee, and more. I definitely recommend this place.

Our stay was a mixed experience. On the positive side, the location is fantastic—within walking distance to everything, with easy access to public transit. I also want to highlight Vanessa, who was incredibly kind, helpful, and responsive; she even went out of her way to get us into a room early, which we really appreciated.

Very kind non problematic staff, room in a good condition and most importantly the location of the hotel is perfect!

Our stay at Relais Orso was one of the worst hotel experiences we've ever had. The room we were given looked nothing like the photos advertised online. Instead of the bright, inviting room shown on the website, we were put in a dark room with almost no natural light.

The cleanliness was unacceptable. There was visible mold on both the bedroom walls and throughout the shower. My wife is pregnant, making this especially concerning. The shower door didn't close properly, water flooded the bathroom floor every time we showered, the bathroom sink barely drained, there was a maintenance panel hanging open above the toilet, and the Wi-Fi barely worked.

When we requested extra pillows because my wife is pregnant, we were given one without a pillowcase and promised housekeeping would bring more the next day. Housekeeping never came, our room wasn't cleaned despite using our towels to clean the flooded floor, and no additional pillows or pillowcases were ever provided.

The night manager came to inspect the room and immediately acknowledged that the condition of the room and the mold were unacceptable. However, we were simply told the hotel was fully booked and there was nothing they could do. We were instructed to email management after our stay so they could resolve the issue.

We did exactly that. It has now been well over a week, despite providing a detailed complaint and numerous photographs documenting every issue, and management has completely ignored us. Not even the courtesy of a response.

I'll be attaching the photos so you can judge the condition of the room for yourself. They accurately show the mold, poor maintenance, flooding bathroom floor, and overall state of the room.

There are countless hotels in Rome that will value your business. This is not one of them. Between the misleading photos, poor cleanliness, lack of maintenance, broken amenities, nonexistent housekeeping, and management's complete disregard for guest complaints, I cannot recommend Relais Orso to anyone. Save yourself the frustration and book somewhere else.
