Anniversary break
Pros:

We had a lovely stay here for our 40th wedding anniversary. The hotel was wonderful from the moment we stepped inside, such a fresh and clean smell. Our room was spacious and looked onto the pool area. We both enjoyed breakfast where there were gluten free options available for my husband and we also had lunch one day. The pools were lovely to come back to after a day out. Overall a wonderful break.

Lovely hotel
Pros:

Lovely hotel just a 10-15 minute walk to Bardolino town and the lake. We didn’t use the spa and pools, but they looked lovely. Room was spacious and clean. Reception staff were helpful and friendly. We stayed B&B and the breakfast food was nice with a good selection, booking a taxi was weird. We had to book the day before and reception requested the taxi for us, but the taxi company didn’t accept the booking until 8pm. So it was a bit of a worry if we’d make our train to Milan. It worked out ok, the taxi was on time, but it’s the first time we’ve had to book the day before and wait several hours for confirmation.

Holiday yo Lake Garda
Pros:

A wonderful trip to lake Garda and the Aqualux spa was the perfect base. The location less than 10 mins walk to lake is is ideal. The hotel is spotless and the pools and spa are the best we have ever used in all our travels, temperatures are spot on. The rooms are large and well appointed but in this day and age they should really have USB chargers in them, we were in room 223b and to be honest it was not worth the Aqua upgrade as it had a large tree in front of the balcony that obscured most of the view. Most of the other rooms though did not appear to have this problem. Also on that room the balcony cladding had not been completed very well on the reveals allowing a bird to nest in the corner, this made for quite a few droppings which the maids some days neglected to clean. Breakfast was more than adequate but at busy times because they only had one toaster and egg station it could mean a bit of a wait
The hotel I would not say has a holiday vibe, and seems more applicable to short stays and coperate functions, the bar was always empty but I must say the prices were very reasonable. This should not distract as Bardolino is stunning and packed full of bars
Would I recommend this hotel, a big yes

Modern hotel with very good pool and spa
Pros:

The Aqualux is a modern functional hotel on the outskirts of Bardolino. It is about a 10 to 15 minute walk to the old town and ferries.
On arrival at the hotel it is a bit bewildering- all information is on QR codes and as it has strong eco credentials you have 4 different rubbish bins in a drawer on the room. Bathroom is good with a good power shower.
Rooms are spacious and modern and quiet. Our room was on the 2nd floor and over the car park but did have lake glimpses in the distance. It was also a long way from reception and the restaurant so you get your steps up!
Breakfast is a major operation with lots of people vying for the popular egg station and ‘real’ coffee bar. The selection is good but it is a massive self service operation.
Overall it is a modern 4 star hotel which is relaxed and friendly and has excellent pools and spa. It is a bit at odds with the old world feeling of the lakes

Pros:

Fabulous 10 day stay at this hotel. The reception staff were very friendly and always readily available to help you if required. Breakfast and pool facilities were excellent, and it is well situated for the short walk into Bardolino. The housekeeping staff did a great job - our room was always spotlessly clean.
The hotel also arranged taxi transport (at a reasonable cost) to and from Verona airport. If we return to Bardolino we would certainly stay here again.

Lovely hotel in a lovely town
Pros:

This is a very nice hotel.
There are only about 125 rooms so it never feels overcrowded and you can always get a lounger or table by one of the many pools.
We were half board and in general, the food was excellent. Breakfast was very good, although some of the evening meal options and descriptions were a little odd - warm carpaccio anyone?! The wine is excellent and reasonably priced, and the service was really friendly.
We had a room above the bar at the front of the hotel, but we didn’t hear a sound despite 30 or so Germans being sat immediately below our balcony! The room itself was large, well equipped and spotlessly clean.
The hotel is an easy 10 minute walk from the town and lakefront.
If you’re going further, use the ferry or bus. Don’t use the local taxis because they’re extortionately priced - EUR100 for a 40km round trip and EUR50 for a 5km round trip.
Otherwise, a lovely hotel in a lovely town.

Great location near Lake Garda with excellent customer service
Pros:

The staff in the hotel are very friendly and helpful. The young bar man at the pool spoke excellent English and helped me with my, not so excellent, Italian. The lifeguard was friendly and polite. All the staff at breakfast were genuine, warm and friendly. They went out of their way to talk to my daughter who was practicing her Italian. The housekeeping staff always said hello and the rooms were clean and we had a nice view of the pool. The pools were great and we spent a lot of time there.

The receptionist was very helpful and gave us good advice for our visit to Gardaland.

There is a short walk to the Lake and the views from the many bars and restaurants are wonderful. We got the ferry one day and went to Garda and then walked back. It is a great idea for visit and very child and dog friendly.

Amazing and relaxing family holiday
Pros:

We had a wonderful 6 days relaxing here after a few days sightseeing in Rome. We were surprised and delighted to be upgraded to garden suite rooms and it was a lovely touch to receive a bottle of prosecco as I was celebrating a big birthday! The rooms were lovely and spacious and close to the pool. The only downside side was they didn't get any sun on the terrace during the day but this didn't matter too much as there was always somewhere by the pool. The pools are amazing we all loved the lazy river and bubbles and jets. Our teenagers spent a lot of time in the pools. Breakfast was really good as was dinner. Special mention to Silvano who made sure I knew what I could and couldn't eat due to a nut allergy. The menu in the evening was quite limited and our daughter struggled a bit - she is autistic and likes things quite simple but the chef prepared plain pasta which she loves without any fuss at all! We wandered into Bardolino a few times which is beautiful. We would definitely stay at Aqualux again we felt very relaxed and refreshed after our visit and everything is ok the highest standards. Thank you again for making us feel extra special!

A great hotel for couples and families visiting Lake Garda.
Pros:

We chose this hotel from several our tour operator offered, and were slightly concerned that it might be too far from the lake. However, it proved to be just an easy 5 minute walk. We were pleased to find that the facilities on offer were excellent, especially the many pools and spas. The hotel was busy but managed to maintain a quiet ambiance, with plenty of quiet spaces to relax. The breakfast was excellent and the staff friendly and attentive at all times. There were a few small signs of wear beginning to show, but very minor and nothing that detracted from the overall experience. For couples and families alike, we’d recommend this hotel.

Exceeded expectation
Pros:

Had a great time here. We had our 5 month old baby and he had a great time in the outdoor heated pools/jacuzzis which kids could use. Lots of pools and it never felt busy. Breakfast was good. We had a room overlooking the pools which we’d recommend for the balcony experience facing the pools rather than than the car parks. Spa underground was very good, lots of saunas. Very quick walk to the back end of Bardolino where the better restaurants are. All in all we were really impressed and it exceeded our expectations.

Fab Hotel - but room beds are harder than the marble floor!
Pros:

Lovely hotel with super staff (in particular, the spa ladies - Vera, amazing service. The best gel manicure I have ever had!)
Just one major moan - The round hotel room beds (look great) but are super hard. I have a back problem but my whole adult family in three rooms, suffered and lots of guests moaned at breakfast. Aqualux - please provide soft mattress toppers upon request or just install across the hotel. Sleep is essential for a relaxing break!
One minor moan - no complimentary water provided. Think this is a basic essential in the rooms please.
Otherwise, we had a super time but the rock hard beds would stop a rebooking, sorry.

Aqua (not so much) Lux
Pros:

We liked
1. The location, a 10 minute stroll to Bardolino
2. In the evening it was quiet.
3.We had interconnected rooms
4.The pool bar restaurant staff were really friendly and the food was enjoyable.
5. The outdoor pools are great and the lazy river was fun. No-one really used the indoor pools they felt a bit dark and gloomy.
6. Breakfast was good but basic and the hotel has coffee machines which always give a budget feel to me with no personal touch.

We didn’t like
1. No WiFi in the rooms.
2. A bit of a trek up and down stairs to get pool towels they operate a ticket system you get one ticket per person and swap your ticket for a towel.
3. The bed linen wasn’t changed at all during our stay.
4. The wardrobe door broke twice during our stay.
5. Guests reserved sun beds by the pool by putting towels on them, there was a policy about this but it wasn’t enforced.
6. The sun bed area very crowded and offered very little shade so come afternoon we retreated to our room.
7. There was no life to the hotel in the evening the “sparkling lounge” was completely dead.
8. I booked a massage and arrived to find my therapist was male I was ok with this and Matteo was fantastic but I feel I should have been asked if this was ok as some women would not be comfortable with a male masseuse.
9. The water in the minibar was not free it was €3.50 per bottle so guests were filling up their water bottles at breakfast.
10. The rooms are quite dated and the massive round bed takes up a lot of room and made us laugh we called it the Hugh Hefner bed.
11. You are charged for ice in your drink at the pool bar.

Amazing stay
Pros:

Just returned from the most relaxing week despite arriving in a heatwave! As the previous review said, we also arrived early and sat for hours in the hotel lobby not quite knowing what to do. It would be nice to be given pool towels on arrival, and maybe someone show you where to change and get a snack and drink. Although there is an area to leave luggage this is not secure so we still had rucksacks with valuables in to carry around. That said, from the moment we entered our room we had the most amazing week. The hotel is classy without being too stuffy - families are welcome and there is a great atmosphere of all ages and nationalities round the pool. Always a sunbed - we had our favorite spot every day. The pools are the best I've ever had the pleasure to use. 6 of 8 were available, and we spent hours cooling off from the heat of a scorching sun. The water was maintained perfectly, beautifully clean and the perfect temperature. The staff really take care over the surroundings for your enjoyment and comfort, from the grounds, pool staff, restaurant, housekeeping and reception. As it was a special occasion for us, a surprise treat was delivered which really pleased us so big thank you. Would we stay again? In a heart beat....have already looked for next year :)

We loved it
Pros:

Our first time in lake Garda and we booked through Jet 2 holidays. Our flight was early in the morning so we arrived early. Our room wasn’t ready so we asked where we could get a coffee and we were directed to the pool bar. Later in the afternoon after wandering round we asked again still not ready, this time we were given the opportunity to get two pool towels to sunbathe while waiting.
My advice is take a swimming bag with you on top of your luggage. There is so many areas in the hotel to chill out we were just not made aware of them. This is the ONLY criticism of the hotel. Communication is all via scanning their app or finding it on TV in your room. Staff are very pleasant.
Our room was lovely overlooking the garden. Well done to our cleaners who work hard every day to keep a high standard.
Breakfast is plentiful and a wide choice.
We ate one evening in the hotel which was lovely. We had checked the menu in advance as it changes.
Pools and relaxation is what this hotel is about and it works. We relaxed very quickly.
It’s a ten minute walk into the town. Lovely shops, restaurants and bars. Plenty of ferry services to digest at leisure. Walks all around the lake.
We will return perhaps a little earlier as it was hot and getting busy.
