Lovely hotel
Pros:

A lovely hotel, staff are amazing and can't do enough for you.
The rooms are cleaned everyday aswell as the outdoor spaces, sun beds put away etc.
We only had breakfast but that was great with a huge selection of food and drink.
The location is perfect. The back of the hotel takes you straight onto the beach and the front you just go over the train track and you are on the strip.
Our favourite bit was the beach club, the food was great and so affordable.

A fantastic stay from start to finish! Kid free 👌
Pros:

The accommodation was spotless and modern, with everything we needed for a relaxing break. Staff were excellent, friendly, attentive, and always happy to help. Facilities were very good, and the rooms were cleaned daily to a high standard.

The all-inclusive package was brilliant, offering a wide range of drink choices. The buffet was a highlight, fantastic variety and top-notch quality 😍.

Beds were incredibly comfortable, and the views overlooking the ocean were simply breathtaking.

We’ll definitely be returning in the future. Highly recommended!

Pros:

Gesamtfazit: 3/5 Sterne

Negativ: Baustellenlärm, kaltes Essen, Serviceprobleme, veralteter Spa.

Erst wieder empfehlenswert, wenn die Bauarbeiten beendet sind.

Great relaxing stay.
Pros:

Staying in the hotel at the moment , have to say having read other reviews , there was a lot of criticism of staff not being very friendly, we haven't found this at all with any of the staff , they have all been very friendly. One young man who has gone above and beyond is a young man on reception called Alex , from booking us in to constantly giving advice and support, he has been a great help. 👍.
The hotel is modern and reception areas very welcoming. Our room has everything we need and our balcony overlooks the beach and housekeeping pop in daily to change towels and tidy up.
The food is varied and plentiful with plenty of choice and goes down well with a bottle of reasonably priced house white.
It's about 30 yards from the hotel gate to the beach and the promenade is an excellent , quiet flat walk in both directions.
The small spa has sauna , steam room and pool with adjacent gym. I have used the facilities and you do have to book as they limit the numbers , I have never seen more than five other guests in there with me.
The hotel is also 15 mins from the train station with direct links to Girona and Barcelona and all resorts between.
Would we return to this hotel , well yes we certainly would.
One piece of constructive criticism, hence the 4 out of 5 review, the very large reception area should be better utilised as a bar area for guests with regular live entertainment. There is occasionally entertainment in the cramped small pool bar. Many guests would stay in on an evening if there was a better offer but most go out to find entertainment elsewhere. We've been very lucky as this week is part of Octoberfest , so we have popped down there most nights, great crowd and excellent brass bands.

Such a welcoming place, we’d happily return
Pros:

We had such a lovely stay. From the moment we arrived, everyone we met was so kind and welcoming, the check-in staff, the bar and restaurant team, even the sweet cleaning ladies who always smiled and said hello.

Even though the hotel was nearly fully booked, it never felt crowded or hectic. Everything was calm, clean, and so easy to enjoy. We loved spending time in the spa and the gym, and while we didn’t really use the pool, it looked beautiful and peaceful. The food was good, and the little bar-café area quickly became one of our favorite spots to relax.

The location is also perfect, right by the beach and just a short walk to the train station. One day we took the train into Barcelona, which was super convenient and made the trip feel like we got the best of both worlds, city adventure and a calm seaside stay.

All in all, we left feeling so cared for and relaxed, and we would absolutely come back again.

Beautiful Beach Location
Pros:

We have never visited the Costa Brava before. We stayed at Alegria Mojacar twice.

Booked the Alegria Mar Mediterrania for a change and its great reputation .
Our welcome at Reception was excellent. Quick check-in, with a lovely cold glass of champagne.
We later got the names of the best reception staff, which were Laura, Susanna, and Asia. You should be proud to have them on your team.

Our room was beautiful, but it did overlook the building site, which Jet2holidays stated we would not be allocated a room near the site, which was noisy 24/7 due to a generator always operational.

The Bar Team, absolutely fantastic they really made our holiday. So friendly, welcoming, and special .Outstanding service.Totally above and beyond. Natalia, Maria, Bordo, Mickey, and Mocha. Again, it is an absolute attribute to your Hotel 🏨 😍.

Now sorry to say a big negative for the dining room. I have never felt so uncomfortable before. No atmosphere, no friendliness. The food was lovely but luke warm, but thankfully, there was a microwave 🙏

The team leaders, one male and one female, were unwelcoming. I found them quite intimidating 😳.
They had altercations with staff who were working really hard. Not nice to see.
The jewel in the dining room was Jessica 👍😘
Such a brilliant lady 👏 ❤️ She was absolutely lovely, the hardest worker, friendly, and had her eye on the ball.
Please 🙏 Made everyone in the room feel special.Very important. Priceless 😁

Pros:

We stayed 12 nights at Alegria Mar with the all-inclusive option and checked out today. Our room with a sea view was clean and comfortable, the staff was very friendly, and the location is perfect for both relaxing and exploring the area. A special thanks to Mateos and Jessica, the waiters who made our experience even more enjoyable. We would definitely come back!

a wonderful faultless hotel
Pros:

The hotel and staff deserve this review.
excellent is the best word. the room 504 was super. sea view, huge balcony. large spacious room. large bathroom too. spotless and the beds and pillows very comfortable leading to a great nights sleep .Laura on reception could not do enough to help us. we had a room facing the cranes and building of new hotel. this proved to be no problem. work if started at all was minimal and very interesting to watch. The train to Barcelona was a lovely journey all coastal. we visited The Sagrada Famillia which was spectacular. Tapas bars galore too in the area. the beach was soft shale surrounding the hotel and faultless. 9 Euros for two sunbeds and a brolly if staying at the hotel. 18 Euros if not. The surrounding area is small but plenty of great places to eat. value for money is a certainty at this hotel. the food was varied and very tasty. great house wine too.

the flight time from Manchester was 1 hour 45 minutes! we will be back as this hotel has it all.

AMAZING HOLIDAY
Pros:

Visited the beginning of September for my mums 70th. 13 ladies that all enjoyed this hotel so much we have all said we will 100% be returning. Rooms are lovely, modern and clean. Food was some of the best I have had in an all inclusive hotel as was the drink (delivered to your sun loungers and tables) Amazing location, right on the beach. Great evening entertainment, thoroughly enjoyed by all of our group. The strip is just over the bridge with some nice restaurants, shops and a few bars. But the biggest and best thing about this hotel is the staff. Each and everyone is worth their weight in gold. From the cleaners to reception to the restaurant staff but a special shout to the bar staff. They made our trip, special mention to Micky, bodo and the young man on the bar whose name I didn’t catch! Thanks for everything and we will see you next year x

Let down by noise and spa experience
Pros:

Just returned home from an 11 night stay at the Mar Mediterania and wanted to share my honest experience.

We found the hotel clean and welcoming on arrival. Although we couldn’t check in straight away due to early morning arrival, we appreciated the luggage storage and a changing room to freshen up.

ROOMS
We stayed on the 3rd floor with a sea view. We were at the end of a dimly lit corridor, which may be a hazard for those with disabilities. The rooms were small, but comfortable. The bed and pillows are the comfiest I have experienced in Spain. The balcony was spacious, and sofa comfortable, although needed a towel on it.

The waterfall shower was amazing, but let down by the fact the seal on the shower doors were not up to scratch and leaked.

Cleanliness was hit and miss. Some days the cleaners did an amazing job, other days rooms were not swept / mopped. Floors were also filthy under the bed and balcony sofa.

The biggest issue was the noise. The rooms are not sound proof at all. So if you want an afternoon siesta or an early night, take ear plugs. There is a lot of music from the surrounding hotels, beach bar etc… as well as the building work next door.

I was concerned the fridge may be a little warm, but after leaving water over night it was very chilled.

Bottled water was provided on arrival, but not replenished. Many hotels these days provide filtered water fountains, but this is not available. It is cheap enough to buy in nearby supermarkets though.

The safe was expensive at €25 per week, plus a €10 refundable deposit. I’m happy to pay for the use of a safe but this did seem excessive.

We had a couple of maintenance issues during our stay which were very quickly fixed.

RESTAURANT / BAR
We were only bed and breakfast, but found the choice to be plentiful and fresh. The area is clean, comfortable and had a quality feel to it.

Unlike the rest of the hotel, staff in the restaurant were not particularly friendly however.

The bar staff, on the contrary, made a real effort to to interact with and look after guests. The drinks were reasonably priced and cocktails amazing (especially when delivered to you at the poolside!)

POOL / BEACH
The pool was unfortunately very cold, so could only be tolerated on the hottest of days. There is a lovely jacuzzi corner but unfortunately this stopped working after our 2nd day.

We never had a problem getting a lounger. Yes, people put towels down, but you get that everywhere.

The hotel beach towels were high quality with a refundable deposit, and can be changed as often as needed.

The beach is stoney, but not a problem with beach shoes. Loungers / parasols are €3 each per day which we thought was reasonable. Unfortunately, the beach is let down by being constantly pestered by looky looky men, and women asking if we wanted a massage. It was literally every couple of minutes! At one point the police arrived and a massage woman hid between our loungers. It was very awkward and uncomfortable!

SPA TREATMENT
This is the reason for my 3 star review. After several trips to Barcelona, my feet were in need of a massage. I checked the hotel website and booked reflexology which was advertised for €42. The treatment was a little disappointing, and I wasn’t very comfortable with the therapist who complained that I was “not talkative.”

At the end of the treatment I went to reception to pay, and was informed it was €60. I showed the receptionist the price list on the website, but was informed that the prices had changed and I needed to pay the €60. I’m not sure about Spanish laws, but this is most certainly illegal in the UK.

I emailed hotel management 3 days ago to complain about the misleading pricing, and have not received a reply. Yet they have removed the pricing from their website.

Unfortunately, this has left a sour taste, and I find it rather rude that I have not received a response.

RESORT
Although not directly related to the hotel, we found the resort not really to be for us. Restaurants are plentiful but there are very few bars that you can have a relaxing drink.

The night market is bustling and worth a visit. But we much preferred Calella, just a 6 min train ride away. It has a much more traditional Spanish vibe, rather than just being aimed at tourists. If we were to return to Catalonia, this is where we would definitely stay!

Hard to dis-like
Pros:

Very friendly check-in and the room and hotel are in great condition. I like the area as it’s walkable to a lot. It’s hard to dislike anything other than perhaps the price.

Nice, friendly hotel with a lovely beach.
Pros:

The hotel itself is lovely. The rooms are lovely and clean, the beds are really comfy, balconies are a really good size (with a sea view) and the pool area/bar are great. We heard a few people say they were disappointed by the entertainment but there was music round the pool in the day and, of an evening, there were singers/karaoke each night (alternating between the beach bar and hotel bar) so we thought it was good. There are also plenty of bars and restaurants nearby to go to. The staff at the hotel were always very polite and helpful too. However, the surrounding area is very built up and isn’t the prettiest. On the side we were on, you overlooked the neighbouring hotel, which needed a bit of TLC, and a train track/underpass which was just very drab and wasn’t the nicest to walk through to get to the bars etc (rubbish, broken glass, etc.). If you can overlook the surrounding area and focus on the hotel, beach and the fact there’s lots to do nearby, including a quick train to Barcelona, then I would recommend. But, we have definitely stayed in more picturesque places, which have the same to offer in terms of activities, bars and restaurants, for a similar price. So, for that reason, probably wouldn’t return.

Very little sleep
Pros:

Hit and miss

So on first impressions of the hotel seemed very fancy and lovely.

I stayed in room 101 and the noise was unreal - you can hear when a joining rooms (above and next door) go to the toilet, when they have a shower etc. Also the noise on an evening in the corridor (easily into early hours of the morning) then the staff start in the morning. So whilst the bed is comfy don’t expect a good night sleep or even a lie in as the noise starts again from 7.00/7.30am

The balcony - well there isn’t one for this room. Your view is a car park and cranes also you’re straight out onto the ground floor where people sun bath. No privacy at all. People walking past you as the stairs are right next to 101.

Location and first impressions is it is very nice however with zero privacy to sit outside and the noise unfortunately I wouldn’t rush back.

I went away for a few days rest and unfortunately heading home more tired then when I arrived.
