Crags Hotel exceeded our expectations. The building is old but very well looked after, and cleanliness was excellent throughout our stay. The Indian restaurant was fantastic we ate there twice. We noticed a mild food aroma occasionally, but honestly it didn't affect our experience at all. People experience smells differently, so those complaints are very subjective. The management deserves appreciation for preserving this heritage property while running a business.
Everything was fantastic apart from the weather which was too sunny . Haha
We loved our stay at Crags Hotel. It's a charming old property with history, not a modern concrete hotel. The rooms were spotless and comfortable. The Indian food served downstairs was one of the highlights of our trip. Yes, you can occasionally smell the cooking, but it's hardly surprising with a restaurant attached. Negative reviews focused only on the food smell seem a bit unfair because it's a matter of personal sensitivity. The staff do an excellent job maintaining this beautiful old building.
Little curry smell from kitchen
Our stay at Crags Hotel was excellent. It's an old heritage property with lots of character, so don't expect a brand-new luxury hotel. Everything was clean and well maintained. Yes, there's an Indian restaurant attached, so you may notice food aromas in some areas. Personally, I didn't find it bothersome, and the food was absolutely delicious. Reviews complaining about the smell are very subjective. It's simply part of having a restaurant in a heritage building, and the management can't realistically eliminate it completely. Overall, the hospitality made our stay memorable.
A memorable stay at Crags Hotel. If you're looking for a modern chain hotel, this isn't it—but if you appreciate heritage buildings, you'll love it. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and the staff were genuinely caring. The Indian restaurant serves excellent food. The occasional cooking aroma didn't bother us at all, and I think complaints about it are largely subjective. The management is doing a commendable job maintaining this historic property while running a restaurant, and both deserve support. We'd definitely return.
nothing all went well
Friendly staff can get food and a drink at the bar.
No taxi services in callender, loud with rge football being on.
Excellent room with connecting room ideal for us. Quiet location and we had a great nights sleep
Nothing
Nothing
Room was dirty ..lots of other things wrong with the room and the property we left after the first night ..hotel isn't manned ..didn't feel safe
DO NOT BOOK HERE ROOM SO DIRTY, BED SHEETS HAD BLOOD ON THEM, ROOM WAS NOT HOOVERD, ROOM FULL OF DAMP , DID NOT STAY THE NIGHT AND DID NOT GET A REFUND, STAY WELL AWAY
Good Location
Hotel looking tired, needs to be redecorated No hairdryer available.
The area
The full hotel is dirty, the room had a blocked toilet for two days, with getting told it would get fixed. Also, over 15 photos off how bad the room was. This has a restaurant also. The toilets are hanging off walls there are flys spiders and wire cable lieing about floors. A have a B.I.C.S certificate, and that is a government certificate for cleaning and training staff. For this is the worst place a have came over. Will never be back and will take this on with local council
In central location near shopsetc
Nothing to dislike
Ruhiges Zimmer, neues Bad, bequemes Bett, ganz nah an Wasserfällen und Wanderwegen
Etwas hellhörig vom Treppenhaus
Great location as we are couple traveling by motorbike, you can stay at hotel and go discover Highlands with no problem. The hotel has back yard so you can safely park a bike. Property has a BRILLIANT INDIAN RESTAURANT - curry to die for 🙏and little bar , good selection of drinks and very welcoming staff! The Owner fantastic, friendly person-he treats us with free drinks and dessert after dinner when he found out that we are celebrating our wedding anniversary- thank you it was lovely 😍no issues with checking in/out!
All good what you can expect in 3⭐️traditional Scottish hotel with Indian twist!
Lovely Indian meal in the restaurant in the hotel
The room was lovely and spacious with a great view
The curtain was falling off the rail and the door was off one hinge
Overall the price, we were there to visit the Bracklinn falls so it was a case of sleep and then explore.
It was a wonderfully hot day and the window wouldn’t stay open, we improvised though. The road outside is noisy but was expected.
