Staff very friendly. The price was good. Ample room and very charming.
Bed very comfortable. Good supply of tea and café.
Fantastic views from the balcony in our room.
The room was warm. A bit of dust in the fire place and not high dustin done for a while.
Clean towels and robes. Good supply of of soap and shampoo.
Perfect location for us. Close to amenities.
Breakfast was value for money.
Stayed for one night for the blues festival, hotel was very clean and so convenient, 5 minute walk to the seafront and town and also with parking. staff were very friendly and helpful - definitely would stay again
My elderly Mother and I have stayed at Purbeck House on several occasions. It is centrally located in Swanage with easy access to shops and restaurants. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The twin room we stay in at Louisa Lodge is clean and a very good size with a lovely view of the grounds. Continental breakfast is basic but adequate to start the day. We love staying here and will be returning again.
The hotel is full of interesting history. It is family-run. They make you feel welcome. The hotel had some building works going on during my visit however, these did not disrupt my stay. It was a very relaxing and well-appointed for days out.
Beautiful hotel friendly staff location is perfect our second visit and looking forward to the next one
What a lovely place to stay! The location is ideal for the town centre. The room was spotlessly clean. The staff extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel accommodated a couple of requests, with no hassle. Would definitely stay here again.
I stay in this friendly and relaxing hotel whenever I'm in Swanage. The location is excellent (5 mins stroll from the beach), the rooms are comfortable and quiet and the staff very warm and welcoming. The Victorian ambiance of the lovely historic building is lovely. I can't wait to get back!
Wonderful staff, spotlessly clean throughout. Decor a little dated, however, plenty of hot water in the shower. We brought fish and chips back with us one evening and the staff kindly set out plates, napkins and cutlery in the lounge for us. They even insisted on clearing up after us. Couldn't ask for more. All we needed to do was purchase drinks from the bar which we were happy to do. Very family friendly. A little disappointed with the buffet continental breakfast. Clearly catering on a very meagre budget to cut costs. That's the only reason it isn't 5/5.
Lovely characterful old school hotel. Really enjoyed my stay as I prefer hotels with character which so many modern hotels lack. Great location with many places to eat and drink within 2 minutes walk. 3 minutes walk to the sea as well. Good continental breakfast to.
Great location, helpful staff and lovely views.
Continental breakfast was a great start to the day.
Lovely historic hotel but we stayed in the lodge which was new, clean, light and airy. Just one issue we arrived in the evening and the grounds are very dark. The place needs more external lighting.
Wonderful Hotel - lovely setting and location. This hotel is beautiful. Classic features, in a beautiful setting yet pretty central and just a few minutes walking distance from the town. Plenty of parking, lovely gardens with deer roaming! Lovely bar, room was huge. Staff lovely. Breakfast is continental so if you require more then just don’t book walk to a nearby cafe. Thanks Purbeck House. We will be back!
Had a lovely couple of days stay at this very quirky . interesting hotel Swanage was charming and we shall come back again.
My partner and I had a wonderful stay at the Purbeck hotel. The room was lovely, bigand clean. It was facing towards the trainstation so you could hear the steam trains (which my partner was ecstatic about). The staff were friendly and attentative, as well as pour a good pint.
Will definitely stay again!
Purbeck House hotel is such a beautiful, historic building. Our room was large, warm and well equipped.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
The town centre is only a short walk away. We plan to return again soon.
We were made very welcome. The hotel was warm, clean and comfortable and very quiet. Ideal location situated in the centre of Swanage with an on site carpark.
I have stayed at the Purbeck House Hotel a few times and my experience has always been good. This trip was no different. Staff are always friendly and helpful. The main hotel has a lovely olde worlde ambience and is only a short walk from the town centre with it's pubs and cafes, and the beach. My single room was spacious, clean, well laid out, and a very reasonable price.
The only downside is the lack of cooked breakfast, but with so many places to get breakfast in Swanage it's not really surprising, and other hotels are doing the same. The hotel does provide a list of the breakfast places with contact details. The hotel does a continental breakfast, which I had on this occasion and was good. I have already booked for another stay, so that says it all really.
A great location, rooms are light, spacious and comfortable, ours had a bath, which was nice. Beds were comfortable and the room was nice and warm despite freezing weather outside.
We had a lovely stay at the Purbeck House Hotel. The building is magnificent and is really beautiful house that is steeped in history.
The staff are super friendly and made us feel very welcome. Thank you Jan and team for making it so special. See you again.
Lovely old stone building with a bar and lounges. One can stay in the building itself or in Louisa Lodge adjacent (wandering in to the main building to enjoy the facilities). Close to the local shops and eateries, it's our first choice when stopping in Swanage, which we do a couple of times a year.
