The stay was bad. First of all nobody checked us in, as soon as we arrived they sent us to our room. Nothing was explained regarding hotel policies so next morning when we were ready to check out a very rude lady in the front desk told us that only cash was accepted as the payment method and that this was supposed to be explained during the check-in (never happened) the service was bad they have no idea how to treat a customer. they even told that for the price we are paying we shouldn’t be complaining. Again the service was horrible u don’t recommend this place at all!!!

We thought this hotel was very charming and comfortable. It had a great deal of character, and the staff was very kind and helpful. It was easy to walk around the city from this location or get a taxi. As we were leaving, there were no empty taxis any where and we needed to be at the bus station; two staff members came outside to help us flag down an empty taxi to get us off on time. The breakfast was tasty; the only thing was that people seemed to eat quite early and by 8:30 when we got there, the fruit and many items were not very plentiful. Aside from that, we loved our stay.

A good bargain but the beds left much to be desired staff friendly but TV only in Spanish

Very nice hotel with a great free hot breakfast. Friendly staff and a great restaurant attached. Floors squeak but other than that I had a very good experience here.

The staff were extremely helpful and the hostal is in a great location (walking distance to the central park, but far enough to be quiet). The floors are a little creaky (as with all old, beautiful buildings in Cuenca) so maybe bring some ear plugs.

Great family run hotel. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. We stayed at the hotel for three nights and ate in their restaurant twice and both times the food was excellent.

We were treated like family. The staff was very helpful with everything we asked. Guests need to remember that this is an old Colonial house that has been converted into a hostel, so don't expect a brand new major chain that you would find in any major city. Enjoy the atmosphere and the experience!

Ecuadorian inn with Italian restaurant attached. Great staff, comfy rooms and breakfast for a reasonable price.

This was the cutest hotel we visited in Ecuador. It had all the charm you would expect in a historic city. Decorated to a T and the breakfast was awesome. The attached Italian resteraunt was excellent as well. The Hotel was only 4 blocks from the river walk and 5 blocks from the main park and cathedral.

Very cozy, home-like Spanish-colonial style hotel (bed and breakfast). Really pleasantly looking inside and outside. The rooms conveniences are OK- this is renovated collonial buildng -- the ambience definitely compensates for everything. The price is also very affordable and staff is very friendly. The owners are Agentinians of Italian descent, and the food style is Italian.. Many European and US guests. Overall, a VERY GOOD (5 stars) buy for the $$.
