Sohar Beach Hotel

Although it comes across at first sight as a hotel that has passed it’s heyday, the SOHAR Beach hotel is a good place to stay and we much enjoyed our time there. A large imposing building fronting Sohar ‘s black sand beach, the outer buildings have been closed due to flooding some years back and only the adjacent main building is currently in opération. We were fortunate to be upgraded by the very personable reception person, Bernard, to a wonderful large room with a separate sitting area and a large balcony overlooking the sea. It was great to he able to sit outside and watch the activity on the beach. The bathroom was a good size too. Breakfast was good and our Sri Lankan server (I’ve forgotten his name, sorry!) very pleasant & helpful. The location of the hotel is on the outskirts of town but if you have a car that’s not a problem. I would stay here again and recommend the Sohar Beach hotel!

Actually it was a very bad experience the blanket was dirty the receptionist are not helpful hope they will ameriolate in the future, also I was surprised that a c for warming is not working, after complain they said we will add three hours for sheck out loool.

This is my second stay at Sohar beach hotel. I rarely give reviews but feel this place deserves one! The hotel is great, location perfect and staff are amazing. Special thank you to my friend Rajesh who really made this place feel like home. All the staff were great, big thank you to Lalit, Fisul, Dhan and Ravindra as well. Hopefully see you all again soon!

It was Arafat Day (27 July 2023) plus 3 days of Eid Holiday so my wife and I decided to drive to Oman from Abu Dhabi, UAE. This hotel is decent and well maintained. The Omani Mr. Ibrahim (?) from the reception was very helpful and gave us information that we need. Only complaint we have is the not so cool AC. We can't bring down the temp below 25 deg C. We set the thermostat to 23 and then to 21 but the temp hover between 25 and 27 deg C. Even with the hotel staff intervention, the temp did not go down below 25. They have a good swimming pool and a nice Bangladeshi lifeguard (we forgot his name). The beach is actually part of a public beach. It wasn't bad but the waves were strong during our stay. The breakfast is quite cheap compared to the many other hotels that we've been through. Mr. Rajesh's karak chai is excellent! Mr. Rajesh was also very courteous and helpful. Overall, it was a good stay and it's location is just perfect and close to everything that we want to go to within Sohar.

Wave bashing beach front hotel with pool and best variety of suites for family, good ambience. Healthy buffet breakfast served in the morning with variety of cuisine, fresh puris and chapatis served directly from kitchen at each table by the kitchen staff. We were very glad to see our clean car in the morning….a great gesture by the hotel who truly has the customer at its heart.

Swimming pool, early morning beach walk and walk in the nearby park are the things to look out for for a detoxing holiday just near the city.

Friendly and cooperative staff. Reasonable pricing. Thankyou Sohar Beach hotel, for making our stay comfortable.

Excellent service and we enjoyed morning view, food also tasty and fresh. Overall it was a nice experience. The covered play area was nice we enjoyed by playing cricket and football. Really enjoyed. Hopefully we will visit again. Thank you

Great location, with a gate opening on the beach and a 2 minute walk to the Jubilee garden. Has a pool and a basketball court. Older buildings were being refurbished.
Great view of the sea from the room.
Good breakfast options.
Wi-Fi was a bit patchy but was sorted out.

One of the best and scenic places ever in Sohar. The rooms were well furnished with great amenities and the beach view from the room window was mesmerizing. I spent half of my time in the swimming pool. Food was yummy.

It is value for money.
Good spacious rooms, great outdoor view with open sea. Decent breakfast spread.
Good baths.

Service is excellent with courteous and well informed staff.

TV channels with Arabic, English and hindi content available

A little bit stressed from the journey, the friendly behaviour of the Sohar Beach Hotel team let me feel comfortably and relaxed after two days. The room is not only big it is great, and clean. Not only the breakfast and the diner are fun for my tongue, also the talk with Rajesh and his colleagues are interesting and funny (Rajesh, make handcuffs to your cook, he can everytime start up with his own restaurant in Germany. Good stuff from good staff). Thanks to all the nice people i know now in Oman. Four weeks ago i don' t know where it is, now i love it! For all readers: Come to where the beach is, fly over Muscat airport and enjoy the beautyful architecture. Make the trip to Sohar by bus or taxi and learn about the friendly people in Oman. Climbers are also welcome, but don't forget the chalk and visit Oman in the wintertime. Best regards and thank you for reading. Holger

Very nice hotel., rooms are neat and view was awesome.. I liked the balcony and spent most of the time there.. the bathrooms are good with nice modern fittings and was clean.. food was also excellent., appreciate the restaurant person who, for me got special roti since it was not there in buffet., overall very good experience and i will be visiting them soon

Excellent location on the beach, nice big well appointed rooms having a view of the sea with a large spread for dinner and breakfast, with courteous staff.

Superbly manicured garden and lawns and a clean outdoor swimming pool to boost.

very clean room, linen was fresh, amazing view of the beach, lovely parking, good bar, overall experience, 10/10....hussein the BD manager, : was the perfect host...we were about 20 motorcycle riders, and the hotel catered to all our needs, the hotel also has a well equipped gym that i sued...i noticed they have some meeting rooms as el.....free wifi too....huge property and plenty of parking....food quality was commendable

Enjoyed a week's stay by the sea side. Comfortable and elegant room. Good housekeeping & excellent food, room service & friendly yet professional staff. Special mention must be made of Mr Rajesh who showed excellent initiative in going out of the way to make us feel comfortable and made the stay enjoyable. The weather was great as well.

The new wing of Sohar Beach Hotel provides a beautiful view - window and balcony opening to sea. The rooms are spacious and clean. The best part was the service and food. Thoroughly enjoyed cuisine prepared by Mr Vijay Sharma. The staff was very courteous and helpful. Overall, it was a great stay. Hope to see the renovation complete soon as the pool is under repairs and so is the original wing. The new wing location next to the sea is a big plus though there is no private beach. However the view from the room where we stayed was just amazing.

The trip was amazing . The staff was cooperative. Everything was so relaxing . I would rate my visit 10/10.
I was thinking to visit about raddision blue or sohar beach , but then I decided sohar beach and it was a best decision . Ocean view , swimming pool and homely feeling . Service was on time and perfect .
Next time I am going to stay in sohar beach for sure .

Pas de piscine ,extérieur détérioré même pas une chaise longue...
La plage de plus n a aucun intérêt sale etc...
Nous avons tenté d obtenir un geste de la part de cet hôtel qui a été refusé!
Quoiqu’il en soit le lieux n a pas grand intérêt
Enfin la baie vitrée ne fonctionnait pas ...
