it's too closed in almost like a prison. And extremely tiny rooms.
Although centrally located, this was a far cry from being a motel. It was more like a boarding house. As the only guests, our โhostโ placed us into a very small room that could barely accommodate our luggage. The towels that weee provided had no absorbing power left in them, the shampoo bottles were used, half empty, and there was nobody to speak to in the evening. As per the Expedia ad, there was a pool available, free parking, and a gym. No such things were available. We had to pay 80 NIS per night for parking.
After complaining about our room and the dirty kitchen, the host moved us to a larger room.
At check in, the host proudly showed us the kitchen and told us that we were welcome to use it. The plastic tablecloths were filthy, there was no dish soap available, nor paper towels. The toaster oven was broken and the trash had not been emptied in who knows how long. It smelled awful! Stay away from this place
The owner is very friendly, helpful, caring and does his best for the quests
Once the property was located, it was easily reachable, and in a nice location close to the beach. The motel is small, as are the rooms, and the owner (very friendly) maintains the property in excellent condition.
Israeli style hotel. Motti was extremely attentive, pleasant and helpful for all our needs.
It was a a very friendly owner. Nice location.
This is my third stay at this motel and I will definitely go back ๐

The service was fantastic and the place was spotless.
It's old but homey. With old world BB charm.
We enjoyed the reception, and location
The room and the surroundings were very clean and the service was amazing. The people that run the place were very nice and determined to make our stay the best
This is a very basic, typical Israeli hotel. Not at all a luxury hotel, by American standards, but fine by Israeli standards. Clean and comfortable. Excellent location! The staff was extremely helpful at all times. The breakfasts were delicious. My only complaint was that it was too hot in the dining area. I would not hesitate to stay there again.
Lovely very simple spotlessly clean. Lovely owner great location. If this is what you are looking for in Naharia by far look no farther
Nice location , room was nice and cozy , the guy at the reception ( probably the manager ) , was very nice and helpful.
Located right at the city center , near the shore
The management was very helpful, he was assisting anything we ask for
The place was very nice and close to the beach. The owner was very friendly and helpful.
The Hotel/Motel was what the label said on the tin. It was a basic room and facilities. The management were extremely helpful, and the location excellent.
One sign on the building calls this place the Gaโaton Motel. Another calls it the Gatโaton Hotel. At night, the part-illuminated sign just says โHO.โ
Itโs more of a โhoโ than anything. As in โho, ho, ho.โ Neither a hotel nor a motel.
There is no breakfast provided, virtually no โamenitiesโ โ weโll come to that later - and beds like boards. The rooms are small, with inadequate space to store or spread anything out. The cleaner, Mr. Moti's wife, comes in only every few days so expect to have to empty your bins sometimes.
The worst aspect is the small broom-cupboard-like space which is a combined shower and toilet, the floor of which is more or less permanently soaked as there is no shower tray.
The length of the combined shower and toilet is approx 166 cms. (five feet four inches)with a maximum width of about 77 cms. (two feet five ins) .
Thatโs measured from where the toilet waste pipe comes out of the wall. The usable space is much less as the WC takes up about a third of it. If you are sitting on it, your trouser bottoms getting soaked, your head touches the shower curtain.
So, as some of these hostel-like so-called hotels in Israel donโt seem to have grasped the notion that the water from showers can easily be contained in a tray, and drained away without flooding the entire floor, the shower/toilet enclosure is awkward and annoying in the extreme.
In our first room the shower drain was not properly designed to facilitate drainage, so we were forever slopping water about.
The makeshift solution was to put towels down, one to stop some of the floor flooding and another to stand on to stop some of the water getting on our clothes. You had to get dressed and undressed outside this ridiculous space.
Unless you are prepared to buy three expensive meals a day out you need to have some form of cooking facility. Thereโs a kettle and fridge in the room but thatโs about it.
There is a sort of communal kitchen. The large, rough-looking fridge is full of junk. Not a fridge as suchโฆ.(!) There is a microwave, where I managed to make porridge (oatmeal) . But there is zero provision of any cooking utensils. No so much as a plastic spoon or plate, let alone saucepans, knives and forks etc.
We were only able to eat here by borrowing bowls, spoons and so forth from our family, who live nearby.Unless you are prepared to fly the Atlantic/Med with a case full of dishes and so on, forget eating at this โho.โ You might not be amused.
The two of us paid 280 Shekels a night for a twin-bedded room, about ยฃ62 at the rate of exchange we got, or about $78, depending on the rate of exchange.
Anywhere in North America or the UK, where we have stayed in many hotels, you would get a reasonable hotel with excellent facilities and breakfast for that. Plus comfortable beds and a proper bathroom, with shower trays.
I got up in the early hours one morning to use the toilet, only to find all the power off. The same was true all down our wing. Around 6 am a Hebrew speaking lady got through to the owner, followed his instructions at the Consumer Unit and got the lights back on. They went off again and once more she got them on.
When we saw Moti, the owner, that afternoon he had the cheek to ask me what I had been doing to cause the lights to fail! Well, sleeping actually. Of course, this can be seriously disruptive to the electrical systemโฆ..The lights also went out the next night.
In Israel, which urgently needs some professionally-run American or UK hotel chains to come here and provide a good service with proper, modern facilities, the Motel is relatively inexpensive. Which shows you that in some ways Israel is still a young, developing country with a long way to go.
very basic and way too expensive
