Called in for lunch. Had to write a review to say how excellent the food was. I had the carvery and it was delicious, lots of choice, everything perfectly cooked and presented. Friendly service and value for money. Will be calling in more often.

Juao went above and beyond at breakfast for us
The room was as described and the bed was wonderfully comfortable. The evening meal we had and the breakfast were exceptionally good and great value for money. Everywhere was spotlessly clean even though the place was always busy. Great atmosphere too.
No lift, but staff did offer to carry my case. No phone in the room and no light on the dressing table. Minor niggles really and would not stop me from staying again.
The Bold is a lovely Hotel, very popular with non residents day and night, inside and out
It’s on an excellent location, near to all amenities
Some car parking spaces round the back but you can pay for a space, with a discount at their sister hotel The Grand across the road if it’s full
All the Bar, Restaurant and reception staff were very warm and welcoming.
The room was cosy, the bed comfy, the bathroom spacious, all with good facilities
Breakfast was a very nice hot buffet, drinks machine and a cold selection with a toast machine
The only draw back we found was that there was some road and revellers noise into the night that a bit of internal double glazing would have fixed and a lift to the bedrooms would be good

Food amazing.
Room was a bit run down only 1 curtain at the window should have been 2. Water in bathroom running slow. Bed had a noticeable gap in the middle which made it uncomfortable unless you slept at the sides.
The room was clean and comfortable. Having a fridge was an added bonus. Breakfast was really nice with a great variety. Staff at the hotel are so friendly.
Surrounding bars are noisy at night although the hotel itself is quiet.

Late night noise from function room
I had a large room despite staying on my own. The bed was comfortable, the location perfect for going to a show at The Atkinson. The staff were pleasant, tea and coffee were provided and I wished I was staying longer.
