The Manor House

I stayed recently here and had booked in by accident to a room that had a separate bathroom over the corridor.

This may not be an issue if you wasn’t a female solo traveller and also given that the bathroom is a very small space and has a very thin 80’s style door to it that means you can hear everything through all doors etc when you’re on the corridor.


The room itself is nice but very basic and needs some updates.
The wall behind one of the bed sockets actually moved and felt unsafe plugging my phone charger in.

The dressing table was unusable due to the positioning of the mirror and due to the low period ceilings you didn’t have any other options.

I also left with 3 bites I believe from the one nights sleep as I asked to move and could but at a premium price and was refused a partial refund so really disappointed with my stay and the service from the management team.

Not a 4* property at best it should be a 3*

The room was ok but it was very dusty and as I have a dust allergy I had to go buy some wipes and clean myself so it’s done properly. It’s not the dustiest place I’ve stayed but more attention was needed in certain areas. Bed was not comfortable, it was hard and could feel the springs. I had the room with separate bathroom, which was clean but no pressure in the shower spoilt that for me. It literally dripped out. Don’t think I’d stay again to be honest.

Lovely pub with nice rooms and a great breakfast! Friendly staff. Nice seating area in the back outside near the car park. It is close to Chatsworth House so we were sble to drive in to the country fair in 15 mins.

This property is absolutely charming. We loved the exposed beams and the view onto the road. The breakfast was delicious as was the coffee.

Situated in old world Dronfield. Charming place.

If you like the country pub type feel then this is the place for you. It’s a very old building with oodles of charm.

We stayed at the Manor House for two nights.
It is a beautiful old building, which has been thoughfully modernised inside.
Our room was clean and comfortable and the bathroom had a good shower, with plenty of hot water. It was also surprisingly quiet, for being in a town, with the occasional call of a pair of tawny owls.
The staff were absolutely great, and very efficiently with their service.
Breakfast was superb, with a menu to suit everyone.
Don't be put off by the hotel not serving evening meals, as there are plenty of eating options in the immediate area. The closest being the gastro pub, which is next door.
I have no doubt that we will be staying here again.

Refreshing, warm, clean, does the job.

Friendly staff, uncomfortable bed. Towel rail in bathroom was really hot and difficult to turn off, so room overall was too warm.

Always greeted by polite staff
Have stayed here a number of times for work over the past month
Always allow me to order breakfast the night before and it’s always made for me for 7am the next morning
Showers aren’t the most powerful but they’re ok
Everything always clean - stayed in 4 different rooms and all have been clean
Convenient location for where I needed and supermarket, local places to eat - all walking distance
Good parking

The bedroom was immaculate. The bed was very comfortable. The quality of the breakfast food was excellent. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Very good, I have stayed before and is my preferred hotel in this location.

Lovely room, excellent breakfast.

Nice over night stay, fairly small room but fine for our needs. The staff were lovely and one of the best breakfasts we’ve had in our travels .

Great stay lovely room and well located

Property was great. Greeted at check-in, and given clear instructions to room. Breakfast time given, and I was shown where everything was.

Room was fine. It was very compact with the smallest bathroom I've ever been in, but designed well enough that it wasn't an issue.

Bed comfortable, nice welcome card and pack left. Hot chocolate was really nice too.

Slept really well, and then went to breakfast. The service was a little slow, but I could see that they were quite busy, so it was totally understandable - and boy was it worth the wait. Everything cooked really well, and served on a hot plate too, which kept everything at a great temperature. Black pudding was really good, the quality of the breakfast overall was fantastic, and I thoroughly enjoyed it all.

Would definitely return for the good nights sleep, and the fantastic breakfast alone.

The room was lovely and the staff were excellent. It was a bit noisy and the bed was not comfortable. A new mattress would help.

Is what it is.... place for the night with an absolute cracking breakfast in the morning

Very helpful and friendly staff. Lovely breakfasts.
The biggest prroblem for me was the stairs, but with an old / historic building there is not much that can be done about that.
The staff were happy to help in anyway they could.
