Exceptional apartment.
Pros:

We had the 4 bedroom apartment with 2 couples so we were spoilt for space. That said, the apartment was very well appointed with one of the best kitchen setups we have encountered in any vacation apartment. The laundry is well laid out. It is perfect for families and EACH bedroom has its own on-suite bathroom, shower and in the case of the Master Bedroom a tub too.

Staff were a nice mix of expats Kiwis and Ozzies and Japanese too so English communication was simple.

There is a lift too, but if this is your first time in Nozawa Onsen, be aware that the town is basically a collection of hills and slopes so getting to and from the bus station to the apartment will require some steepish ascents and descents on concrete and gravel sections.

Impressive option for families
Pros:

The penthouse was very spacious, fully equipped kitchen, would fit 8-10 persons easily, washing machine & dryer, en-suite toilet in each room, lovely living area, amazing views from the windows, staff were amazing, Yamato luggage shipping option, two onsen that can be used privately.

Pros:

Nice hotel with welcoming Australian staff. The Onsen was closed when we got there which was disappointing because it was one of the reasons we chose this location. The staff was kind and let us use their sister hotels facilities so it ended up being fine. The room was nice and had everything we needed.

Spacious and comfortable clean apartment room; good amenities. It's nice to have Nespresso in the room too. Would stay again.

Cons:

The cafe has odd hours in the off season- there was a bit of confusion about do you want to book breakfast etc and I assumed that's because it's so busy, but maybe that's because it is not really open. We didn't really want western breakfast anyway, just telling others.
