Dang! I was wrong to choose this hotel.
Why? Wi-Fi at Wyndham Surabaya has been consistently unreliable throughout my stay. As someone here for business purposes, this has seriously disrupted my work especially important Microsoft Teams meetings, travel coordination, and timely correspondence. In today’s world, dependable internet isn’t a luxury, it’s a BASIC necessity for any hotel, especially one claiming to cater to business travelers.
IT WAS NIGHTMARE. To make matters worse, staff attentiveness is lacking. Several requests were either ignored or met with minimal effort to assist. It feels as though guest concerns are not taken seriously & there’s very little proactive communication or follow-up from the front desk team. When you’re paying for a well-known hotel brand like Wyndham, you expect not only reliable infrastructure but also professional, responsive service. Unfortunately, this experience has fallen short on both counts & I find it incredibly disappointing. A hotel’s quality is not just about its name or location it’s about consistent service & support that meets guest needs, especially those staying for business.
I sincerely hope management takes this feedback seriously & addresses both the technical and service-related shortcomings. Lucky, my staff was coming to my room and he shared his mobile network to make my meetings easier until we had gym session together!
If you looking for a hotel that is near a mall this a place for you to go as the mall is walking distance. The staff in the hotel is also friendly.
The hotel location is short walk to mall, room very clean and spacious. The check in and check out process very fast. All staff very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast served so may food variety and Pool they have rather small yet very relaxing and personally as pool at 6th floor which not so much disturbances.
Very nice hotel with good foods and services, very recommended hotel for stay in surabaya with your family or your couple, value for money and strategic location at central of Surabaya City, near Tunjungan Plaza, the biggest and famous mall in Surabaya.
Nice wine bar restaurant with good food. Very quiet rooms. Comfortable bed with lovely soft pillows.
Having stayed at other Wyndham hotels, Wyndham in Surabaya falls short in many ways, unfortunately,
On the plus side:
+ the airport pickup and drop-off service were excellent. Luxurious Toyota Alphard with courteous and timely drivers (Thanks to Robbi and Aris).
+ Location is strategic in the city center although you still need a transport to get somewhere.
+ Rooms are spacious. Good lighting in the room.
+ Fitness center is spacious with moderate equipment
+ Breakfast comes with wide variety of menu. Restaurant staff is courteous and helpful.
+ Front desk staff is helpful and quick to assist.
+ Engineering responds fast to fix issues with the safe deposit box and shower
+ IT is helpful and quick to assist with internet connection issue
On the down side:
- Lobby looks old and a bit dark
- Wallpaper all over the hotel is peeling off, no signs of attempt to fix them
- Bathroom lighting is insufficient, not enough light in the shower and above the toilet. Except for liquid soap, shampoo and body lotion, no other amenities provided.
- Food taste leaves much to be desired. Some of the food items are tasteless. On the last day, the scrambled egg I ordered had too much salt that it became bitter, inedible.
- Laundry is too expensive. The cost of laundry for one underwear is about the same as buying a new one. It doesn't make sense. I spent a fortune on laundry just because I had to, after 5 days of travel without opportunities to laundry elsewhere. No wonder, when the staff came to pick up my dirty laundry, he asked "have you checked the pricing?"
- NO towel or water provided at the fitness center. I had to bring my own from the room. Weird.
- Internet connection is up to 4 times faster (tested using speedtest.net) in the meeting rooms than in the guest room. Also weird.
Hotel was ok overall, except for minor faults in the cleanliness and the facility (bathroom).
However, the problem was the loud music from outside. Perhaps, there is a club of some sort.
The music was blaring all night, which made it very difficult to have a sound sleep.
I strongly think the hotel management should manage this problem for the potential hotel guests.

Hotel is amazing, Staff is amazing, made us feel at home from the first moment. From arriving, check in, to breakfast, swimmingpool and check out. Please never change this staff. They made my stay really easy and enjoyable.

In the evening when i approached the reception Ms Margrate was helpful with the late checkput without asking..Tq so much.
The bar on the 2nd floor was also very good.Could not get the staff name bt there was an indonesian gal who had her hair bun up..The singer who was a lady with long hair was very welcoming..Great stay will be back.Tq
The hotel lobby looks luxury and spacious. Room and bathroom are also spacious and nice. Bedding is large king size and comfortable too. The location is also at the center of the city, easy to go to places. Across the street is Wisata Rasa snack store for souvenir.
Overall stay is pleasant, much better compared to where I stayed on first day, another 5 star hotel with double price.
Bit far from the airport but if traveling early morning or late night then its nothing to worry about. The hotel itself was nice and felt luxerious. Cant complain at all. Also couldnt here tge other guests either.
I stayed for seven nights. Bathroom cleanliness was horrible especially the shower. The only thing that is clean in the room is the bed. Staff are amazing though.

Terrible service from the staff. Not trained properly to handle situations and they told me to go ahead to complain to their management. Rude and very unprofessional. With the price, there are many other hotels around the area thats worth your money.
We chose this hotel partly because of its strategic location in the middle of the city. Another part was the name "Wyndham", in which we had a good experience with back in the U.S. The hotel itself is not a brand new hotel. It has been around maybe for ten years. The hotel is well-maintained, though the interior is an old style one: with carpet from wall to wall and a dim ambience. The reception lobby, the floor lobby and the room are spacious, however Tangerine Restaurant has a rather limited space and hence a limited choice of foods and drinks for breakfast. The taste was so-so but the services were responsive and courteous. One thing I found somewhat disturbing with the reception lobby: the light was turned off when we came back dinner outside the hotel at around 10PM. So the lobby was unusually dark. Turning off the light at the lobby is not a common practice elsewhere. My room was on the 22nd floor with a city view. The corridor leading to my room has a standard width. Going inside my spacious room, I found amenities commonly found in the hotel room, with the exception of the existence of two chairs (one for work and one for relax; usually only one of them) and one working desk, the existence of shower area and a bathtub (usually only one of them), and the small size of television mounted on the wall. All amenities, including internet connection and AC, worked well. I also had a chance to use the fitness center. It is spacious too, and the equipments are plenty and still functioned well. Overall, I enjoyed my stay for these two reasons: its location and facilities. Keep up the good work and keep improving for the better future!
