Golden Silk Boutique Hotel

Good breakfast . Great location.

Great position, good reception staff (we had bikes returning to the hotel four times over three months and they were very accommodating), large well equipped rooms.

Choose this hotel for a spacious room as presented in Agoda platform. However , we have book a room with outdoor view and requested high floor , but was given an internal room with no view and lower floor block by adjacent properties.
The check In staff and manager was friendly and quick to correct the mistake and move us to level 5 room 03. Room is spacious clean, toilet is with frosted glass partition, favourite part is the the shower cubicle comes with seating stone ledge, nice. Air con function well, but central control not easy to regulate the temperature, it is too cold for myself only. House keeping is prompt and fast .

Choose the hotel becos of a nice rooftop sky bar. The only bartender manning does a great mixology cocktail drink. We order the buy 2 free 1 happy hour till 630pm and enjoy our first sunset with amazing view of the old quarters french quarters and partial hoam kiam lake area and the cathedral too.

The breakfast spread is good with live station such as egg, pho. The staff is friendly and attentive. I hadh poach eggs done very well and personally sent by the chef with a smile too.

Our breakfast meals was destroyed by the staff playing loud Indian music. I combed around the breakfast restaurant, there is only approximately 20-30percent of Indian guests only and why loud Indian was played .
The Indian music destroyed our mood at dining even after the staff lower the volume of the big speakers slightly. Please be sensitive to the other especially majority of the guests there before blasting loudly Indian music. Perhap playing local Vietnamese soft music prefer.

I have to reduce the hotel ratings for the bad vibes bad experience at your breakfast restaurant today!!!!

All in all.. beside above bad vibes ..I would have given a 5 stars for location. Room. Sky bar. Sunset happy hour drinks with a Big Smile Cool Bartender name LUC (your hospitality with a sweet smile brighten our day at the sky deck .Reception check in. Breakfast spread. The bellboy name Hung is helpful.

Convenient location, good breakfast

The hotel is located right in the center of Hanoi in old quarter area. It's very cleaned and breakfast is server on 10th floor with an amazing view. It's also sky bar where you can relax after your tours. Thao is very friendly and helpful in whatever you need. I'll book again when I visit Hanoi again.

Lovely hotel and great staff .
Location was central to most of the things that I planned to do in just the few days I was here .

We stayed at the hotel for 3days.The breakfast, staff and stay was excellent.The receptionist Thao was excellent, was very helpful.

We are 6 ladies & we had a very long 5 hour delay with Qatar Airlines from Doha. We finally arrived at our hotel in Hanoi, The Golden Silk boutique hotel at 2:30am. We entered the hotel & the night staff member looked surprised by our arrival. He then checked & said he had only 1 room booked, not 6! He also said the hotel was full! We were very tired & very emotional. We contacted an emergency number through our booking with Oasis Travel in N.Ireland. Long story short, the hotel miraculously found 2 more rooms for our 2 night stay. The hotel said that WE had cancelled 2 room bookings which we assured him we had not.
One of the rooms was a luxury room which we had booked. The other two were basic rooms. They were not very clean, we found hair in the bathtub shower! We did complain about the state of those rooms & asked for walk in showers, as 2 of our group were older ladies & stepping into the bathtub to shower was dangerous. This complaint was ignored!
On the following evening there were young, but beautifully & somewhat voluptuously dressed girls in the bar area, posing & taking pictures of themselves. We felt as if we were in the wrong kind of hotel.
Not a great experience & we were returning to this hotel after a Halong Bay cruise.
We were given ‘upgraded’ rooms on our return. They were not. They had tiny balconies over a very noisy Main Street, which made sleeping impossible. They were not clean & one had a water leak through the ceiling, water went onto luggage, thankfully not the bed! The previous guest had drawn a comment on the glass in the bathroom, which obviously had not been cleaned!
All in all, we would NOT recommend this hotel & a refund of £92.24 between 6 of us after complaining is frankly not acceptable!

Everything in the hotel was great, recepcionist thao and tracy were amazing.

The staff was accommodating, friendly especially Thao at reception . She was very nice with her smile, the breakfast was ver delicious. I will certainly come back here
