Small rooms and shared bathroom
The pros to this property is the proximity to public transportation and the staff is nice. The cons are EVERYTHING. This “hotel” is absolutely filthy and ran down. The so-called kitchen hasn’t been clean since Bill Clinton was president of the USA, the flooring is broken and also hasn’t been cleaned in decades. The bathrooms are disgusting like one would not believe.
I give two stars for the eco aspect of my stay because the property seems to do its best to conserve water by not cleaning anything on a regular basis.
I recommend those considering this property to at a little more for an actual hotel, not a trashed out dated building. The Sun Plaza two doors over is a much better value for the money.
I don’t know how Hotel Taiyo passes any health inspections.
The staff are very nice, you can tell they are trying their best but the hotel is too run down. However the building is super old and gross. This is a cheap hotel so I wasn’t expecting much but it was way too dirty and old. Mold in the air conditioning unit and drunk men in the hallway puking late at night. I got a bunch of bug bites while I was there too. It is very close to the train station but I wouldn’t stay here unless you are broke and desperate.
Hotel owner thief bad dishonest person avoid at all cost this place
The hotel really worth 0, its very old dirty there are only 5 showers for 200 people. Imagine the wait time, same for the lift with 9 floors. The room I had smelled really bad. Owner didn't want to change.
I booked on different sites and owner purposely doesn't write clear details, puts general photo. The room booked other nights looked exactly same than 1st night but apparently it was different.
The owner is very dishonest and a thief so he didn't tell me I need to change room when I told I stay 3 nights. I could know
As I didn't change room 2nd day he asked me to pay more than 45 USD price of additional night in good room. He didn't allow me to change the room the day after and did wrong calculation of price difference so that he earns more money. He's only after your money so be careful.
As I said it's too much and not normal don't have so much money he called the police to oblige me to pay what he asked. They didn't speak English and did not try to understand that he's stealing me and totally dishonest.
So briefly avoid at all cost, it's expensive dirty, the owner is really bad person just want your money doesn't care of the rest.
I hope the karma will get him back for what he did.
All the hotels around are much nicer but he didn't allow me to cancel
The hotel room had stains on the wall and a tiny pillow that wasn’t greatly comfortable to use. The area is really good around it with immediate access to the subway line, and the free onsen is a nice plus, it is just the cleanliness thats the biggest issue I have. It’s good for what it is and especially the for the price.
The place is old.
Just for a good night of sleep.
Very close to the tower and food, beds were confortable.
Cons: no soap to wash hands in toilets, room smelled like moth balls
The only nice thing about this place is its proximity to the metro so you can find the next hotel.
Found a cockroach in the room. You can hear everything going on in every room on your floor. The floors are nasty.
Don't ruin your japan experience here
No table in the room.
Heater turned off after 20 minutes and I always had to remember to turn it back on.
Best place and budget friendly, near to metro station
It is misleading to brand a hostel as a hotel
Excellent price compared to other places but if you’re not on a very tight budget I’d suggest staying elsewhere. The room was functional but everything had a poor cleanliness level. Bathrooms were a good bit of walk through the corridor and it was always very cold. Location was close to everything and if you stay in that area it’s worth going to Spaworld for an onsen experience.
This is a hostel that is calling itself a hotel. There was no shower in the room. The community showers were gross. We opted to shower at a nearby onsen instead. I had to unplug the tv to charge my cellphone bc there were no power outlets.
.
Always stay here when I come to Osaka. It’s cheap and sufficient. Close to everything you need to see in Osaka
Cheapest place over japan
The location is good to transit many iconic locations by train. However I didn't find the room pleasant. The wooden furniture were chipped, small fridge exposed dusty wires, walls not even sound proof and was given a pillow made of beads to sleep.
Rude staff , very dirty , very very dirty, very very very dirty
