I felt very comfortable here.
Pros:

Conveniently located if you are arriving by train and using public transport. It is a good 30-minute walk to the city center. The lovely Citadel Park is nearby, but the hotel itself also features a small, charming garden.
The staff were very friendly and helpful; I felt very comfortable during my stay.
There is an elevator, so that heavy luggage does not have to be laboriously carried up the stairs.
My room was very clean, spacious, and tastefully furnished. As long as the windows were kept closed, the train running along the tracks opposite the hotel was barely audible.
There was plenty of surface space and power outlets, as well as a small refrigerator and even an electric kettle.
The breakfast consisted largely of homemade items and truly offered something to suit every taste (fruit salad would have been a nice addition—whole pieces of fruit were available, but that can sometimes be a bit much, for instance, if you prefer to mix your fruit). The buffet was constantly being replenished.
The homemade microwave meals were also excellent (I had the lasagna).

Cons:

Unfortunately, the place was somewhat poorly soundproofed; I had to sleep with earplugs because a lot of loud noise seeped through—particularly from the room above me—and because, with the window open (unfortunately, it could only be tilted open, not fully opened for proper ventilation), the adjacent railway line was clearly audible.
The room lighting system did not make complete sense to me. The ceiling lights, bedside lamps, and other indirect lighting fixtures were all controlled by the same switches; one constantly had to toggle the switches multiple times to turn the desired light on or off. The bathroom lighting, meanwhile, could not be switched off manually at all (it turned on automatically via a motion sensor).

Hotel Astoria Gent has amazing staff and a convenient location near the train station. Superb.
Pros:

Breakfast was amazing, location was close to train station but surprisingly quiet, staff were very friendly.

Cons:

Our room was great BUT it was 32 degrees when we were there, and we were in the Brilliant Room, which got rather warm and doesn't have air conditioning (but it has a very strong fan :). We were fine and it was superb once the air cooled down with the windows open.

Wir hatten einen schönen, angenehmen Urlaub! Toll sind die schönen Parks, großzügige Radstraßen,

Das Zimmer war sehr schön, die Whirlpoolbadewanne im Zimmer war super! Wir konnten unsere Fahrräder in einer Garage unterbringen. Das Personal war sehr freundlich! Das Frühstück, mit vielem Selbstgemachten war grandios!
Der Garten sehr schön angelegt.
Das Angebot Infrarotsauna und Fitnessraum haben wir nicht genutzt, da es sehr heiß war.

Pros:

Schöne, ruhig gelegene Unterkunft mit gepflegtem Garten zum Entspannen und super serviceorientierten Mitarbeitern.
Obwohl der check-in erst ab 15 Uhr ist, war es mir möglich, nach 11 bereits die Schlüsselübergabe zu erledigen und mein Gepäck unterzustellen, sodass ich abends ganz gemütlich aus der Stadt zurück kommen konnte und mein Gepäck bereits auf dem Zimmer bereit stand.

Trotz Bahnhofnähe ist die Unterkunft ruhig und in einer beschaulichen Anwohnerstraße. Mit den ÖPNV kommt man vom Bahnhof aus gut in die Stadt.

We were completely satisfied :)
Pros:

Great location, staff was very friendly, the rooms were very new and super cozy. Bathroom was also very clean and new. Beds were comfortable, we slept really good and even though it is next to the train station , we did not hear any noise. There was a fridge in the room and complementary water. Would fully recommend! If you plan on visiting Brugges while in Ghent then this is a great place for you. The hotel also has bikes to rent which is very handy while exploring Ghent.

Cons:

Check-in time could be a bit earlier, like 1 or 2 PM.

Schönes Hotel in Gent um die Stadt fussläufig zu erkunden
Pros:

Sehr freundlicher Check in und Check out, gesamtes Personal sehr freundlich
Super Lage, man kann zu Fuß in die Stadt gehen (ca 20 Minuten), Hotel in sehr ruhiger Gegend
Guter Parkplatz vor der Türe
Früshstück war sehr gut (mit Obst u selbstgemachten Kuchen)

Pros:

El Desayuno con buena variedad de opciones frias y calientes. El cafe y bolleria bien.
Ubicacion buena respecto de la estacion de tren, pero un poco lejos del centro y catedral. Por ello Se agradeceria un mapa o explicacion de la logica del tram (tranvia) en el counter.

Cons:

No estoy seguro si algun dia me acomode este formato de limpieza y cambio de toallas cada 3er dia. Te lo avisan al llegar, pero preferiria un cambio diario.
La llave fisica debe utilizarse para asegurar y cerrar la puerta al salir del cuarto (uno se acostumbra al estandar de cierre "semiautomatico" de la mayoria que usan tarjetas). Solo cuestion de poner atencion.
