Everything, location , decor, spacious rooms, welcoming staff & fabulous bar
This hotel is in a great location, is beautifully decorated, and has very good service in every aspect except for the BLK MGK coffee shop. The rooms do not have coffee makers which is an inconvenience to the customer in my opinion especially when you go downstairs and have to wait in a long line bc they don’t have enough help. I would still return to this hotel and just plan to be the first in line if I’m in a hurry to go sightseeing.
Our stay felt so special and the staff was especially accommodative! We would certainly stay here again.
We stayed at The Mining Exchange for a family wedding. The facility is beautiful but the staff made our stay special. Everyone was so warm and made us feel welcome. Our room was spacious, quiet and cleaned each day. Loved that we could walk to many delicious eating venues. We were centrally located for all our 5 day activities and would recommend it to all coming to Colorado Springs.
Went in May 2026 and honestly was one of my best ever hotel experiences! Gorgeous place, thoughtfully updated but with tons of the original, beautiful old details intact. Front desk and valet were great. Excellent coffee with unlimited refills at Black Magic Coffee. Overall gem of a hotel!
The history, cleanliness, and staff!
I had to go to another floor to get ice. Not convenient! Spa was closed! I specifically booked the hotel for the spa after days of climbing. You need to expand the breakfast menu! Add free coffee for hotel guests!!!
Stayed here for a solo trip and did not want to leave. Beautiful historic building from 1907 with lots of the original details still intact. The staff made it. Jill was an absolute joy, Jose took care of a room issue without missing a beat, and the team at Oro Restaurant, Natalie and Ben, made both my dinners genuinely special.
All the employees were very nice to us
The entire staff is friendly and very accommodating! They go out of their way to assist in any way. We would definitely recommend staying here for anyone visiting Colorado Springs.
Very clean and well decorated
Smaller room
What a great renovation the Mining Exchange Hotel has had (although I don’t know what it was like before). The lobby area is unique, our suite was comfortable and the Oro restaurant was delicious. The live music on Thursday evening was also very nice. Vernon, who helped me set up our reservation was so helpful and nice! Thumbs up to Vernon.
When we checked in, we were told “you have a $25 credit per day to use at our Bar or at our Restaurant, just make sure you charge your bill to your room to take advantage of this”. Which is what we did and we thought, “well this is a nice perk”! Then, when we checked out we find on our bill an “Urban Amenity Fee” for $25 per day. So it is like the hotel gives you this nice gift, but then it really isn’t a gift because there is the fee on the bill. Very sneaky!
The Bar was good, but had a limited selection of crafted drinks and the drinks were good, but very small and very expensive for their size.
This is an expensive, higher end hotel and that being said, we were not real happy about the Bar and Coffee Shop employees all having face jewelry all over their faces. Also, the Coffee Shop gals, a couple of them, looked like they just rolled out of bed. Messy hair and clothing. That’s disappointing for this type of hotel. We would expect the staff to look a bit neater, more presentable and professional in this type of establishment.
The Mining Exchange is a beautiful hotel and centrally located in downtown making everything easy to walk to. The bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve experienced in a long time and great A/C so it was a wonderful night’s sleep. Don’t skip the Blk Magic coffee shop or Golden Hour cocktail bar in the lobby. Both were great!
Nicest hotel ive ever stayed in. Clean spacious modern rooms. Friendly staff. Fantastic food and drinks. At bar and resturaunt
