Best hotel in the Springs and it’s not even close
Pros:

Stayed here for work, but it’s my top choice every time I come in town. Gorgeous rooms, very prime location, the coffee bar is incredible and fast in the morning, the bar is trendy and has great drinks. I love the vibe of this hotel, immaculately decorated. In particular, I’m thoroughly obsessed with the room design and dream about the bathroom tiles. The staff is always amazing, Vernon at the front desk was incredibly helpful and was able to upgrade my room for me. Service was quick, I had coffee brought up to my room in the mornings which was also a phenomenal treat. Always very clean as well, the whole hotel and especially my room. It’s becoming increasingly uncommon at a lot of hotels for daily housekeeping through my visits, so having that here was lovely. Wish I could stay here more often!!

An Excellent Experience
Pros:

The location in right in the middle of Downtown, a block away from myriad food places and other businesses. It's about 15 minutes from Colorado Springs airport, which is an easy drive, or shuttle.
The hotel is beautiful with an upscale ambiance, and incredibley wonderful staff. Everyone we met was kind and wanting to ensure they providen not only great service, but a level of care not often seen with the places I've visited. They took the time to talk, and rememberd our names whenever we met. Jill and Jose at the front desk are perfect ambassadors to the building and willing to ensure whatever might be needed were redily available. Our favorite people were valets Jason, Rick and Patrick. Jason was a blast to interact with and happy and smiling a smile which was absolutely not manufactured. Rick had some great advice on the happenings around the city and environs, and had a real "cowboy" vibe to himself. I could see him in a movie where the cattle drive is over and the coffee is brewing over the fire. Patrick was really personable and spoke with us for some time about his life leading up to his time at The Mining Exchange. I do believe he truly is a happy man in Colorado Springs, and serving the people staying at the facility. The most amazing part though is; when they go to retrieve your vehicle, they run full speed, like they're competing in a sprint race to the garage a block away. They all made the stay a wonderfully warm experience.

The room we had (421 - ask for it!) was very well appointed. All fixtures are in an "brusshed gold" type material giving the place a luxury feel, and of course, keeping within the gold mining schema. There was a wide and deep soaking tub which my wife very much enjoyed. A seperate shower with rain/massage/power wash head and a seperate toilet area. The vanity and sink completed the room. The king sized bed was fabulous. Super comfortable and luxurious. Loads of pillows, a desk area, a sitting chair and a chaise loung thingy. There is a small refridgerator, but unfortunately no microwave r coffee maker. For early risers, the lobby coffee bar opens at 6am. If you need that caffine shot, bring a cold one fo rthe fridge, or wander on over to the next block to one of multiple eateries. The offerings on the TV are relatively standard, and being satellite TV, there is a lag in response when choosing stations. Plenty of movies, news channels etc.

The restaurant Oro, a component of the Mining Exchange continues the luxury feel, with the same excellent service and genuinelly friendly people. The food is delicious and worth the cost. Have the Focaccia bread!

When we were leaving Colorado Springs we had a cancelled flight at the airport. We needed a place to stay overnight and called back to the Mining Exchange. They graciously gave us the same room and just tacked it onto the existing trip informaiton. No new reservation needed. When we got back that evening, we pulled up on the vehicle to valet parking, and they knew us by name! They say first impressions can set the vibes for the stay and with guys like Jason, Rick, Patrick Jose and Jill and the other folks we met, that first impression is gold!

I'd like to live there! Superior staff. Excellent rooms. Central location downtown.
Pros:

The people at this place are what make it "Exceptional". The building is fabulous and the rooms were wonderful. It even had a large soaking tub. But again the staff are all amazingly dedicated to exceptional service.

Cons:

Cost of the items such as croissants and bagels in the lobby. Lack of coffee maker and microwave in room was somewat annoying. Coffee availability in the lobby is 6AM to 3PM which for a travelling person is pretty narrow.

Mining Exchange is the obvious choice.
Pros:

The rooms are nice. Clean. And interesting. Vernon is great at addressing any concerns and he is so helpful they even my travel agent said he was the nicest person she’d ever spoken to and we travel at govt rate. The coffee is good. Location is good. It is the place we always choose — the shower is good. It’s all good. But Vernon is exceptional.

The hotel is charming and unique. The lobby is huge and welcoming. Many wonderful comfy spaces to sit and enjoy. The coffee shop is great and the bar area so inviting. The rooms are well appointed and lovely. The best part of the hotel is the staff. They are so friendly and professional.
