Underwhelming stay
Pros:

The location is amazing and we stay here 2-4 times a year, it's usually our go to place.

Cons:

The elevators were broken for the whole week that we were there so we switched from a King Suite on the 4th floor and took a double queen room, handicap accessible, except there was no way to get to your room if you weren't on the first floor because you had to climb stairs. We didn't receive room service all week. We were dropped off 1 trash bag of towels, coffee and condiments and 1 roll of toilet paper, oh they did take out the trash once. The shower was barely more than a mist. It's as if the staff really doesn't care and didn't offer help to our rooms at all. It was a leave or stay, we don't care " we understand" mentality. We had to ask for a discount because of the change of the room and was offered $100 off for going from a King Suite to a regular double queen because the elevator was broken. After all of this time and years of staying here, I'm starting to reconsider my accommodations on my next visit. I didn't take pics of the room, it was disappointing.

Enjoyed my visit. Loved hearing the river right outside my door.

If you like charming not fancy, this is a great place to stay.
Pros:

We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel seemed older but has a quaint charm. The free breakfast was awesome. Delicious with many options. One of our favorite features was the beautiful creek behind our room which we could go out on balcony and enjoy. The Lodge is in a good location due to the trolley stopping right in front of the office so you do not have to drive to the main street in Gatlinburg.

Cons:

The room we were in did not have anywhere to hang clothes. We were attending a formal wedding and had nowhere to hang the suit and dress. We laid them on the bed. They do charge for parking, but I feel the free breakfast makes up for that.

Was not informed elevator was out (4th floor).
Room was not clean, especially the floors, extra pillows were not available when asked. Do not disturb sign used and staff still entered the room and left dirty towels out side of our door and cleaning rags and spray cleaner left in room on bathroom sink area by our toothbrushes. Some of the lights did not work, no lock on balcony door and the sink in the kitchenette area did not work.

Horrible experience! Don’t stay here! Booking.com needs to ban this hotel.
Pros:

The wood burning fireplace was great! Loved it. That’s all that we liked.

Cons:

This property was filthy and very poorly maintained! Not at all like the pictures.
Elevator didn’t work and we (70 yr old with health problems) were on 4th floor. Phones in rooms didn’t work. One ice machine didn’t work and the one on another floor was horribly filthy.

Convenient location but behind the times on updating and cleaning.
Pros:

Next to a creek, close to attractions

Cons:

Carpeting dirty, didn’t update with wood flooring, balcony not been cleaned in years, strong unpleasant smell like old carpet, dirty carpet. Our bed sheets were clean but the mattress cover had stains which looked like blood. Also continental breakfast not enough food to choose from.

Wonderful weekend getaway.
Pros:

On the water, off the parkway but still walking distance, very kind staff.

Location was good . No problems with noise was a plus , but for the price of staying 3 nights, I did expect better.
Pros:

Walkable to everything , good location and quiet . Enjoyed sitting on balcony at night listening to the creek water .

Cons:

Elevator didn’t work, so having to walk up and down stairwell carrying luggage and other items sucked . Pool was closed even tho the temperature was in the 80’s. The rooms could’ve been cleaner . You could see dust on things in bathroom and the wooden tables had some type of grittiness on them . Beds were uncomfortable as well .

The place SUCKED.
Pros:

The spider infested balcony overlooking the river.

Cons:

Where to begin? Filthy,filthy carpeting.
Useless little lamps.
Many stink bugs inside + an unidentified large green bug inside the screen.
Spider and cob webs in the corners.
Only a steep ramp to walk up to 2nd floor. They offered a free breakfast but I was afraid to go to the building where it was served.
Totally run down. This could be a beautiful place if it were kept up.
Didn't bother to complain because what good would it do?
