Casuarina Tree

Stayed in room 24, woke up really early the next morning itching. I had 13 bites all over my body. Went to a pharmacist who said they were bed bugs. I don't know for sure if they were bed bugs, a spider or flying insect. This happened in March, which seems early for mosquitos, but I'm not an insect expert.

The staff took a long time to move rooms, basically I had to come back after the pub had opened. This massively impacted my plans for that day (I was staying for a friend's birthday party). Which meant expensive Uber's and a lot of rushing around. Then they offered to move me into a "premium room". So I moved my bags. Only to be told they then wanted to move me to another room "that was less expensive". By this point we had to leave to watch a football match, so I told them I didn't have time to move for a second time. The manager was only available over the phone, so it was lots of conversations over the phone between me, him and the staff. The manager told me he was going to investigate the insects then get back to me, he didn't get back to me until I messaged through the app.

The room I had been moved to turned out to have a noisy couple staying next door who were playing music and talking all night. When I mentioned this the manager said he would investigate. 2 weeks later I asked what was going on, he said he had given a warning to the guests next door. Which makes no sense, pity he couldn't warn them when they were making noise at 2am, warming them 2 weeks later doesn't achieve a lot.

I asked for a refund for the first night stay, because of the bites. They said after an investigation they found it wasn't bed bugs, it was mentioned it might be allergies (complete rubbish). So no refund. This is probably the worse hotel I've ever stayed at.

Everything was fine

There was an issue in all 3 room we booked.
In 1 room.the shower and tv didn't work. We were promised shower would be fixed by lunchtime and it wasn't.
The card holder to operate lights was hanging off the wall.

In the 2nd room the toilet push button was faulty and the curtain was torn and put together with safety pins, it looked like a ccat had clawed it.

In the 3rd room the shower was intermittent and had to wait for the water to come through pipe, bearly any hot water 1st night. The shower tray was blocked and started to overflow when using shower, maintence needs addressing.

I had other family members stay there alos as we all attended for a family wedding held locally.

I my nieces room , she was told the room wasn't ready, when she came back she found workmen had been working in there and had clearly been smoking as the room stank of smoke and there was cigarette ash everywhere. She was told she had to accept as no other rooms available and had to sleep with windows open all night.
There are fire escape routes and no smoking signs everywhere so how was this allowed to happen. ?
Ther breakfast facilities were in adequate, did not have enough parties for the amount of guests and ran out of milk.

When complaints were made a member of staff said said it wasn't there problem and to complain to booking.com.

I feel bad about everyones poor experience as I had recommend this hotel due to close location to wedding venue and the photos and reviews on booking.com. Overall we booked 7 rooms and all had complaints.

All want compensation.

Room was too hot and the mirror/light in the bathroom was cracked

The place was very sabby, worn carpets, curtain rail falling down, I had to be careful when drawing them. For the price we paid £198 . It definitely was not worth it. I would not stay here again, it's a shame as the staff were very helpful, but they cannot change the state of the place. Down to the owner.
