Heavenly holiday
Pros:

My husband and I spent a delightful week at this wonderful country hotel.
The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful and the view is stunning.
The scent and sounds of Provence are all around you and it is blissful.
The hotel also has a superb pool, kept very clean and the hotel provides bath towels.
Our room was very comfortable, with a great large double bed, plenty of storage, TV should you wish to watch it, air conditioning is available, a good size bathroom and a private terrace with excellent seating.
Everything was spotlessly clean.
The owners were very friendly and helpful and the food on offer (breakfast and optional dinner) was excellent.
Bertrand, the owner, is a very good thoughtful cook and Karine, his wife, is a smiling charming hostess.
My only small criticism: a shower curtain or some sort of divider to stop the very real possibility of spraying the whole bathroom when showering would be a good addition.
We will definitely come back!

Friendly hotel with spectacular views in a haven of peace
Pros:

Beautiful position for this small, very friendly hotel. The hosts are marvellous. Rooms quite small but with such a wonderful pool area, a terrace for drinks/breakfast and your own balcony, it is not a real issue. So quiet here and fabulous views. Lots of safe parking as well.

Beautiful views and friendly hosts. Lovely few days.
Pros:

Beautiful views and super welcoming host team. We had lovely 3 nights here including breakfasts which were delicious and one evening 3 course meal from the talented chef. The village itself is a 20 minute walk or 5 minute drive away. We'd recommend to come to the hotel via the Villecroze road as the centre of village roads are very narrow, sharp bends and single track- so if you meet someone it's a little hairy!

Great hotel with a panoramic view, sparkling swimming pool, good home-made food.
Pros:

The perfect hotel for a getaway in a lovely, hilly area of Provence near some beautiful villages. The managers are friendly and efficient, and great cooks. The rooms are comfortable and tastefully arranged. Who could ask for more?

Booked one night, stayed two...
Pros:

Having GPS coordinates defenitely helps to find this little gem. We had initially booked one night, but smitten by the place and the welcome we extended for another. The room was basic but very clean and had a lovely terrace. We were lucky with the weather and were able to have breakfast (and dinner) outside. As mentioned in other reviews, the views from the Mas des Collines are spectacular and the peace and quiet of the place is rejuvenating. Highly recommend this place.

Set in an over-priced timewarp!
Pros:

Le Mas de Collines is set in a lovely, but remote spot, so having read the reviews we decided to give it a try! Big mistake! Unfortunately we arrived late, having spent hours getting out of Nice in the rush-hour so maybe that didn't help. When we arrived we had to wait for about 30 mins before anyone came to reception! The hotel is very old-fashioned & completely lacks any charm or ambiance, with the majority of guests being very old, I 'm unfortunately not that young myself, but I did find it a bit like an old people's home! Apparently the owners have had Le Mas, for 25+ years & I would imagine nothing has changed since then!! We had a set meal, all that was available & because we had our Springer with us were placed on a serving table, no idea why; but after a long day, frankly we were to tired to argue! The 'food' was passable at best, very uninspiring, although the wine & cheese were good! The room was pretty basic too! Anyway we thought OK not a good choice, but passable! So imagine our surprise the next day when the bill came to 250 euros!!!! Frankly incredibly over-priced, the hotel & food being worth no more than half that!!! In summary if you want to stay in a remote over-priced geriatric home then you'll love Le Mas, otherwise AVOID at all costs!

Wonderful service, wonderful atmosphere
Pros:

This hotel, recommended by a friend is a gem. Despite two minor criticisms, one that it is remote and hard to find, two that there is no kettle in the room, i still rate this as a wonderful, welcoming hotel, worthy of five buttons! The remoteness is part of its charm and the kettle is something to overlook when considering the other desirable features. Lovely place, lovely location, lovely proprietor, all lovely

What a find
Pros:

Originally booked 3 nights, ended up staying 5. The owners are so welcoming and can advise on all the interesting villages and sites in the area. Everybody should have the evening dinner, different every night, starter, soup, main, cheese and desert, all home cooked and probably the best we have had in all our visits to France. We would definitely return good D roads to anywhere in the Var

Stunning setting
Pros:

This is a delightful family hotel with wonderful views. It's near the village of Tourtour which is very pretty. We were made so welcome by the owner. The home cooked food was delicious at dinner with dishes like guinea fowl in olive sauce. Breakfast on the terrace was a real treat overlooking the green valley with mountains in the distance. There is a good sized swimming pool too. Our modern room had floor to ceiling windows opening out onto the countryside with no houses in view.

Remote Tranquility
Pros:

This hotel is located high in the mountains about 40km from the lakes and not far from the Gorges and Tourtour.
The rooms are basic with no tea/coffee or water.
But the hostess is so nice and the food is fantastic, you must stay and have the evening meal which is prepared by the hosts mother and is very traditional... Choices included beef, rabbit, salmon terrine etc all made in house. The whole dinner will last 2+ hours.
So all in all a unique little hotel.

Welcoming staff, excellent location, great value
Pros:

Stayed here four nights in mid-June 2014. Despite unfavourable weather the first few days, we loved the hotel. The rooms are basic, functional, comfortable. The view from our room (6) was amazing. Small balcony overlooking the garden, pool, and the landscape to the south. We didn't use the pool because of the weather, but it looked inviting and clean.
The staff was extremely welcoming. The daughter and mother were the only ones we had any contact with, and there was a genuine feeling of caring for their guests. The mother is extremely proud of her cooking, and rightfully so. We had dinner three nights and the food was excellent. Fixed price menu that included a starter, soup, main dish, cheese, and dessert for 25 Euros. Exceptional value. And the ambiance was very pleasant as well, with many of the hotel's guests enjoying dinner together.
The hotel is located about a 20-minute walk to the village of Tourtour on small roads, mostly uphill.
Highly recommend this hotel for its location, staff, value, and food.

Warm and welcoming
Pros:

We spent just one night here and wished we could have stayed longer. Despite the most rudimentary French and 2 fussy eaters in our family, we were given the warmest welcome and the most delicious dinner, with the menu adjusted to suit our requirements. Not luxurious but spotlessly clean and very comfortable, a large swimming pool, beautiful views and the best strawberry jam at breakfast - it really was a perfect overnight break on our holiday.
