The Ritz Village Hotel

We got an "upgrade" and it was a room that would remind one of a dungeon or crypt. There are no pictures of that specific room advertised anywhere and it was not the room I booked. There were stairs to the bed area that were so steep you had to lean forward to get up the steps. The room was dark and not very clean. The shower had no hot water and the complimentary coffee was decaf only. When we asked about it the first time we were told by a rather rude staff member (I don't remember her name) it is an upgrade which we strongly disagreed with. We told her that we had specifically booked a room with a patio to sit outside and she told us again we got an upgrade and to use the common area. The common area looked abandoned and like it hadn't been maintained the nice pools that they use in their advertisement was like a 10 min walk, which under different circumstances would have been fine but truly nothing at this hotel looked like the pictures. We decided we were not staying here our entire vacation but the reception was closed so the next morning we went to the front desk and there was a different staff member equally as rude. He basically just told us to talk to booking and barely even listens to our complaints and told me that I should look at what I'm booking before booking it even tho my point was that nothing looked like the pictures 😭 they definitely run a low grade scam in my opinion. After arguing back and forth they did refund us for the remaining stay but never apologized or offered a different room like this is something they constantly do.

Für unsere deutschen Ansprüche ist das Personal sehr langsam und unfreundlich. Wenn man überhaupt bedient werden will muss man das Barpersonal direkt ansprechen, lächeln oder freundlich sein ist wohl nicht üblich. Die Geschwindigkeit mit der hier gearbeitet wird ist extrem langsam und man braucht viel Geduld, wenn man mehr als einen Cocktail während der Happy Hour bekommen will, wird es schwierig weil das zeitlich eng wird. Bei der Anreise hatten wir uns gewundert ,das 16 Uhr erst das Zimmer fertig sein soll, jetzt wissen wir warum. Also erwartet nicht eine Minute vorher ins Zimmer zu können. Später haben wir festgestellt das man fast überall so bedient wird und das es wohl in Curacao oft so ist, karibischer Flair halt.
Ein sehr schönes Hotel leider fehlt das gute Personal und das fängt in der Leitung an.
Ach kleiner Hinweis , frühstücken ist auch ein Abendteuer für geduldige Menschen. Alles wird einzeln und meist nur auf Wunsch aufgefüllt, Teller ,Tassen, Schalen und Besteck ist nicht genug vorhanden und fehlt ständig. Tische werden meist erst auf Nachfrage sauber gemacht und abgeräumt, auch da karibischer Flair, also Geduld bewahren und gelassen bleiben.

Dem Personal fehlt offensichtlich die führende Hand.
Wenn man das weiß und sich darauf einstellt , kann man dennoch einen schönen Urlaub haben.

De kwaliteit van de appartementen kan per accommodatie verschillen. Het appartement bij aankomst was een beetje ‘shabby’. Het was geen probleem om te wisselen naar een ander appartement nadat we dit hadden aangegeven.

Wordt tijd voor onderhoud! Loop eens door de kamers. Het is zeker niet schokkend, maar het moet nu wel opgepakt worden!

Hygiëne op het strand en zwembad moet beter. Zand in zwembad, prullenbakken die dagen niet geleegd worden, parasols die kapot zijn. Gaat achteruit!
