We had a lovely time in split.

Lage in der Altstadt ist perfekt für einen Kurzurlaub mit kleinem Koffer.

Cons:

Katastrophal schlechte Parkmöglichkeiten (Parklio-System ist nicht zu empfehlen!) und dann ein langer Fussmarsch über unzählige Treppen in der Altstadt. Nur mit Rucksack oder Bordcase zu empfehlen.

Very good value for money with an excellent location.
Pros:

Location was excellent. Breakfast had good choice but could maybe do with more savory options rather than so many sweet options. The room was excellent with a large bathroom and I only wish I had longer to stay in such a nice room.

Cons:

Some staff can be a little blunt when you ask questions and so I tried to keep my questions as few as possible.

Onze ervaring met het Jupiter Heritage Hotel was ronduit teleurstellend. Ik begrijp eerlijk gezegd niet waar de vier sterren en het predicaat “luxury hotel” vandaan komen. Op basis van de staat van onze kamer en de aangeboden faciliteiten voelt dit hotel absoluut niet als een viersterrenhotel.

In onze badkamer zat schimmel rond de jets van het jacuzzi-bad. Het jacuzzi-gedeelte werkte bovendien maar gedeeltelijk. De douche in het bad gaf slechts een zielig straaltje water en zelfs de verlichting in de badkamer werkte maar voor de helft. De koelkast koelde nauwelijks en ook de airconditioning werkte niet zoals je van een hotel van dit niveau mag verwachten.

Het bed was eveneens ondermaats. Het matras was duidelijk versleten en ook het kussen was oud en versleten. Voor een hotel dat zich als luxe viersterrenhotel presenteert, verwacht je simpelweg een bed waarin je goed kunt slapen.

Ook de wellness was een grote teleurstelling. De filter van de jacuzzi was duidelijk niet goed onderhouden en zag eruit alsof hij al lange tijd niet was schoongemaakt. De jacuzzi werkte daardoor niet naar behoren. De sauna werkte volgens het personeel niet en in de wellnessdouche werkte alleen de gewone douchekop; het andere gedeelte van de douche werkte niet.

Het ontbijt maakte de ervaring helaas niet beter. De warme eieren waren gewoon koud. Dat is niet alleen onaangenaam, maar bij warme bereidingen met eieren verwacht je ook dat ze op een correcte temperatuur worden gehouden. Het brood was oud en werd niet tijdig aangevuld.

Wat het extra frustrerend maakt, is dat het hotel op zijn website juist uitgebreid uitpakt met de jacuzzi, sauna en luxe faciliteiten. Als je die faciliteiten vervolgens boekt (ja, je moet ze op tijd boeken anders is het “volzet”) en een groot deel ervan niet of slechts gedeeltelijk werkt, voldoet de werkelijkheid simpelweg niet aan de verwachtingen die het hotel zelf creëert.
