Meals and room were good
No lift and so people with difficulty with stairs would need a ground floor room. Also ease of finding room a little bit more difficult than usual but to be expected in view of building type.
Good location. Nice restaurant
Noisy corridors late at night. contractors or maintenance people loud and active inside at 6am. Easy to hear next room discussions late at night. Noisy air handling equipment outside room. Very difficult to sleep.

lovely staff. Especially the bar staff. Such a lowly friendly bar tender on the Friday afternoon when we arrived.

The hotel is set in beautiful grounds and is full of character with modern touches. It’s spotless and clean , the bar/ lounge area is comfortable with sofas and you can also eat from the snack menu , the cocktails were very good and the bar staff were very attentive and friendly, we booked into the restaurant for the evening which was fantastic and the food very high quality , breakfast was just as good and good variety of continental & hot , our room was Beautiful with a view of the grounds , complimentary bottles of water , tea tray biscuits & the toiletries were very good quality.
The only tiny faults we found were the shower screen does not stop the rain shower from spreading over the floor and I would have liked a shower cap available as us ladies don’t always want to get our hair wet with the rain shower.

The fact that they upgraded our room from standard double to superior.
The bathroom fan running all the time. Had to remove the door entrance card from the lights to stop it and then had no lights.
It was cheaper to book through booking.com
The staff were just lovely and polite. Nothing was too much trouble.
