The room was spacious and welcoming. The staff were attentive and friendly. Breakfast was lovely and served timely. Lovely stay overall
Nothing to dislike. Bar area was starting to look tired could maybe done with a revamp on fixtures and fittings.
Very friendly staff, clean and comfortable. Tastefully decorated.
Food well cooked and presented.
Would have preferred a walk un shower, rather than one over the bath.
Breakfast is fabulous, cooked to order and red hot on arrival, very good quality products
Room was clean and decorated tastefully, unfortunately it was very hot but then it was 35 degrees outside so no wonder!
nothing
The room was clean, bed very comfortable and great location.
The location
Lift smelled of smoke
Very comfortable
Slight attention to detail on cleaning dusty in places and cobwebs x
Morag in the breakfast room is lovely. The hotel is in a great location. The room was comfortable and well appointed. On the whole we enjoyed our stay
We had a number of issues. The first room they gave us had an obscure d view of heating vents out a tiny window. The photos on the booking showed either 2 windows or a big window. Also it specifically said view. Chris was lovely about this and said due to being fully booked he could move us tomorrow. We were happy with this. However when I went to ask for shower gel ( 3 times we were told there was a dispenser on the wall which there wasn't) the manager appeared and said i hear you are not happy with your room. We don't want to false advertise. First we never did or would say that and secondly I was asking about shower gel! She then tried to say they don't advertise views and questioned where I had booked and where I had read a view etc. I had to show her my booking. Her tone was unfortunate and she just wouldn't let it go also i didnt appreacite the repeated use of you are accusing us of false advertising.. I wasn't going to bring it up at all.
The hotel is woefully understaffed as you have to hand your key in. Upon return I had to ring the bell and wait for the poor person serving dinner to come and get it. The same at breakfast, hardly any cold buffet, no cutlery, no glasses etc. This is not the staffs fault as they are doing their best. The lady who we got our key from each night had a nice wee chat with us.
Good location
Very hot room and the window only opened slightly
Excellent location and arrived early so parking was good. Unfortunately the outside bar had some very loud music (i thought i was back in a nightclub in the nineties) which was right under our bedroom window and we were advised would be finishing at 7pm ..some 4 hours later. After realising I wouldnt get a snooze with that going on, my husband mentioned it to reception again and by which time a wonderful lady called Ashleigh had come on shift..we were offered a room change immediately. She was on shift the 2 evenings we were there, on reception, serving in the bar and the restaurant ..a true Mary Poppins and nothing was too much trouble. Truly exceptional 👏
The room was lovely, the reception rooms were beautifully furnished, and dinner in the restaurant was excellent..highly recommend it!
Breakfast reception lady was also lovely and breakfast choices were good.
If you want to get away from chain hotels and take a trip back in time (apart from that temporary outside noise violation ) then is the hotel for you.
I would definitely return..
Music from outside bar..not in keeping with the feel of the hotel
The room and corridors were extremely hot ( I know we are having exceptionally warm weather currently) but good fans in rooms as standard would help. We asked for one but it doubled as a heater and so not the best for quiet cooling. It didnt help that only one of the sash windows opened.
Also no fridge in the room..its a nice touch having a small one to just put your milk in (much needed if you drink as much tea as I do!)
Just stayed at the Crescent Hotel in Scarborough (after being let down badly by the Central Hotel and not informed by Booking.com that my booking had been cancelled until I was actually in Scarborough) The Crescent Hotel saved the day and sorted us out. The staff were brilliant, especially Margot-such a wonderful lady. Our room was fabulous, a corner room (22) large and bright and quiet. Thank you for de-stressing me and I would highly recommend this hotel.
Everything food good atmosphere good liked the downstairs bar disco daytime band at night great but didnt disturb people who werent interested loved it im 71 by the way
Nothing
Staff and breakfast were spot in even had a pizza in bar really good and priced well 😋 👌
Location for ooen air theatre 20min walk 🚶♀️ 👌
Location, it has its own entertainment, bar/restaurant, staff were so helpful, friendly and welcoming.
Items in the room such as Iron with full size board and hairdryer.
I would just say, for the price I would have expected things such as holes in the walls down in the dining area to have been filled. Its a bit of filler, sanding and touch up with paint. Doesnt take much. Thats down to the owner though, no reflection at all on the lovely, hardworking staff who were on shift.
The whole stay was very pleasant and enjoyable. All the staff were extremely helpful, friendly and efficient. The breakfast which was included in the price was excellent with a buffet and a wide choice menu for a freshly cooked breakfast. The service was swift. The whole experience had a personal touch where you were made to feel very welcome. We will certainly stay at this hotel on our next visit to Scarborough.
There was nothing that I didn't like about the hotel.
Anyone wanting a good hotel in Scarborough, The Crescent is a period property, centrally located, close to beach, shopping & bars. It was a busy weekend, due to armed forces day & 2 concerts at the open air theatre. Parking wasn’t an issue. On arrival, we easily parked on the crescent & had a permit from the hotel for £8 per day.
We stayed for 2 nights in the Belvoir room, large bedroom with floor to ceiling windows & a set of french doors opening to a small railed balcony overlooking the crescent gardens. Large bathroom with shuttered floor to ceiling windows for privacy if required.
We used the public bar one afternoon & also the hotel bar for a good night tipple on returning late from the theatre.
Breakfast delicious 😋 & friendly attentive staff too 😍
We wouldn’t hesitate to stay again & it would certainly be our first choice if we were ever return to Scarborough!
Great location , beautiful building and fantastic staff. The bar attached is fantastic too.
The room was really hot but it was a heatwave!
