Nothing
Such a perfect spot close to town, station, but still in a peaceful crescent.
Loved it!
Amazing and accommodating staff. Delicious breakfast choices. Spacious room with a compfy big bed and hot water for showers. There was a Samsung TV with built in apps for streaming movies and videos. Close proximity to walk to town center. Parking is near the hotel. Extremely friendly atmosphere with hotel guests and meeting people in both upstairs and downstairs bar/lounge areas.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
Everything was awesome.
Great location and friendly staff
Although the glass in the lower part of the large sash window in the bathroom is frosted, the blind was missing from its fixings and as this is full view of the street below it was rather disconcerting! Also the bathroom door did not shut fully and the door swings open so again probably not suited for the more demure! Nowhere to hang a dressing gown or towel apart from the towel rail which is positioned at the rear end of the bath in the splash zone from the shower. But overall a lovely stay and would recommend!
Our New Year package at The Crescent Hotel was extremely disappointing and nowhere near the standard promised.
Two of our three rooms had no heating on arrival in winter, and we were told this was due to a thermostat issue affecting the floor. We had to wash and dress for the gala evening in cold rooms. One bathroom radiator remained broken for the entire stay.
The "Show stopping Gala Dinner" consisted of our party of 6 and 3 -4 other tables of 2 people per table at the far side of the restaurant.
Entertainment was also misrepresented. New Year Eve's live entertainment took place in the Crescent Bar. There was no mention that this was a public bar, with no reserved tables. When we arrived there was nowhere to sit. Eventually we walked into Scarborough centre to find entertainment elsewhere.
New Year’s Day's live music was billed as "Enjoy another NIGHT of live entertainment - because the celebration doesn't stop at midnight!" We were told this would run from 7pm - 10pm, but this had apparently been moved much earlier (from 4pm - 7pm which is NOT night!) without notice, so when we attended at the advertised time there was nothing happening and nobody in the bar!
Although staff were lovely, management response afterwards was dismissive and minimised the issues, offering only a small goodwill payment which we have had to chase.
Overall this stay fell far below what was advertised or reasonably expected for the price. We would not return and would not recommend for special occasions.
The staff here couldn't do enough for us. If you want a friendly, welcoming service in Scarborough, this is the hotel to go to.
