The hotel is located very close to the centre of town just off the main street, close enought to be convient for the busses far enough away so you don't hear the noise. Our welcome was warm and friendly and we were asked to have a seat in the bar with a welcome glass of prosecco while they took our bags up to the room and finished the check-in paperwork. As we were traveling with kids we had a two bedroom suite with a hot tub on roof.
We had dinner and breakfast included and this is the only way to go. The breakfast is varied and over the 5 days we not bored with the options. Dinner is phanomenal we had the same table every night which is good as you know where to sit. Other than the first night you get the menu at breakfast and order you meal for dinner, which we really liked. Although this does cater to an older clientel, they had a kids area whcih kept our 5 & 8 year old entertained plus the kids menu also hit the spot.
The big plus is that the pool is heated to about 30 plus Celsius make it very enjoyable, whats more we were told on departure that it will be renovated until they reopen in April.
This has to be one of the more relaxing retreats that we have had in a long time, I can understand why they get a lot of repeat business, we we may well be one of them.
Easily worth 5*, ticking every box in terms of attentive not overbearing staff, utterly professional but also friendly. The food is superb and presented beautifully. Not being a chain, but an established family business certainly gives it the edge. Unusual but so welcome to find tea and coffee making facilities in the bedroom
Our stay at Park Hotel Mignon was as near to perfection as it’s possible to get. It’s evident that the hotel is run by a family who care about their guests and their hotel as every small detail had been thought of. It’s impossible to list the little things that make such a difference.
It wasn’t planned when we booked but this holiday turned out to be our honeymoon! We couldn’t have chosen anywhere more beautiful. We appreciated the lovely card from the family & our wine, flowers & fruit. Not to mention the duck!!!
Rooms are big and very well equipped, wonderful beds, fabulous views and again many little extras that make a holiday special.
Food here truly is gourmet every day with a very high standard of presentation and emphasis on local produce. Everywhere is immaculate and facilities are unbelievable with indoor and outdoor pools, a wonderful garden with many areas to relax and amazing 5* spa facilities. We had guided walks on two days and appreciated the free transport to the start of walks on another day. Merano is a short walk away and local transport less than 5 minutes. It’s a beautiful area.
On a couple of evenings we were subtly entertained with music which was much appreciated, especially when my musician husband able to join them!
I could go on, but suffice to say we hope to return.
Thanks to the family and staff.
Terceira vez que retorno
This is undoubtedly one of the two best hotels we have ever stayed in and we are now 72 years old. We came here to celebrate our golden wedding anniversary and wanted somewhere special. It was certainly that and more!! It is impossible to find fault in anything. Finest cuisine (both in quality and range of choice), breakfasts to die for, exemplary service, welcoming and friendly staff who can’t do enough to help( nothing is too much trouble for them!) Excellent hotel location and masses to see and do in the vicinity - the use of the included Merano guest card is an absolute bonus for using public transport in the region. Can’t recommend highly enough and would love to return again in the future.
I feel sure that I will fail to do justice to the sheer beauty and perfection of the tranquil haven that this family run hotel and spa so effortlessly manage to deliver
The hustle and bustle of Merano disappear after a few hundred meters down a quite side street and give way to the serene gardens of the hotel
What it’s impossible to convey is the heavy scent of jasmine and magnolia that hang in the air
The rest rooms are quiet, clean and beautifully laid out
The communal areas span a huge area offering the ability to find your own quiet corner to relax and watch the cotton wool clouds gently roll across the mountains and you are able listen to the cuckoos and swifts chatter to each other
At meal times Christof, Luca and their team have taken care of us so beautifully while the kitchen have provided us with the most gorgeous local produce, the flavours outweigh the superb presentation and can only really be appreciated on tasting them
A faultless experience! Thank you
Preis Leistung so la la
Pretty good overall. Nice room with air conditioning
Very good service, very good facilities especially the sauna (nude) and the excellent food
Particularly recommended the roof top spa area which was deserted when we were there
Top class hotel a few minutes walk from downtown Merano. We only stayed 3 nights but we have already decided to come back next year. Everything was top : location, welcome, staff, room, food, swimming pool, saunas, park, rest areas ... and a lot of small details that make your stay unforgettable.
Fantastic hhotel with extremely kind and friendly personal and service. The rooms in the mainhouse are great and very welcoming. We had half-board and enjoyed both the good italian food and the extensive winelist. All served by very professional staff in a five-star surrounding. And the SPA is a chapter for itself….
This is a lovely hotel. The rooms are spacious and the beds are extremely comfortable. I slept so well. The pool and the spa are spectacular. The rooftop jacuzzi has beautiful views of the mountains. The breakfasts are exquisite and there are plenty of cooked to order items as well as delicious pastries. The evening meals are also very good and plentiful. The meat dishes were a particular highlight with beef fillet and venison on offer. The service was excellent with requests dealt with immediately. The hotel is also situated well for the town of Merano.
We have just returned from our ninth visit to Meran and our fourth to this glorious luxury hotel (previous visits in 2012 to 2014). This was a late booking, for 16 nights, following the Covid-related cancellations of all our previous attempts to reach the Alps this year, including our planned holiday in June at the beautiful Hotel Adria, sister to the Park Mignon.
On arrival at the Park Mignon we were greeted with great warmth by the family owners and the many staff members whom we recognised from either the Mignon or the Adria. It turned out that we were the hotel’s first English guests this year, and indeed the first Inghams guests to visit any hotel in Meran. This we found bizarre, because the Meran area was relatively unscathed during Northern Italy’s spring Covid crisis, and it has clearly taken huge precautions - in the hotels, on public transport, in shops - to protect its citizens and visitors. Compliance with local instructions on wearing masks, sanitising hands and maintaining social distancing seemed to us exemplary, and we quickly felt relaxed and safe, inside the hotel and out.
Everything about the Park Mignon hotel is first class. Because we spent most of our days hiking in the mountains, we did not visit the extensive spa, but the indoor/outdoor pool was lovely at the end of the day. The food is sensational, with choice at every stage of the six-course dinners, plus additional amuse-bouches from the chef at the gala dinners on Sundays. On our first Thursday we enjoyed a traditional Tyrolean evening, with Heinz Gamper on the zither accompanying a terrific, albeit filling, dinner. On the second Thursday the star turn was the patisserie chef - we were served a stunning range of (mostly chocolate) desserts. The wine list is also excellent, with many high-end local wines to choose from, as well as international options. The prices of the wine are very fair, with affordable as well as eye-wateringly expensive bottles available. At the start of the day, the (masked-up, socially distanced) breakfast buffet also set us up beautifully for our hiking. Our room was smart and the twin beds very comfortable.
The weather in Meran was not as hot as we had expected in August, certainly not too hot for hiking, and we experienced a couple of days of rain with dramatic evening thunderstorms. But given the right hiking gear, this didn’t matter at all; indeed the contrasts were refreshing.
We have our tenth holiday to Meran booked for next June. We will be staying at the lovely Adria again (which I have reviewed in previous years); for us as a retired couple, it is a more affordable long-term option. But for 2020 the luxury of the Park Mignon has been a welcome restorative after the bleakness of lockdown in the UK, and we are most grateful to the hotel family and staff for treating us so well.
Nice wellness and spa hotel in nothern Italy, Every room has a balcony. The rooms are clean. Quality and quantity of food at the breakfast is great. Very nice and kind staff. Also there is a garage in the hotel!
