Food in the Bar wasn’t great and the room was by far the noisiest room I have ever stayed in.
I think it must be next to the laundry and the extractor in the bathroom is faulty and wouldn’t shut off. 4.30 am and awake not a restful nights sleep I’ll be glad to get home tomorrow.
Potential to be a lovely hotel but it’s a bit tired… positives - hot shower, big towels and good breakfast
O
This hotel was very underwhelming and nowhere near the 4* standard it claims. The hotel was not what I had expected at all. Even by the photos. It was fine for a quick overnight stay, but calling it 4* is definitely a reach.
I had mixed experience of my stay. Good things are Location, brilliant surroundings and plenty of parking space.
Breakfast choices limited for vegetarians. Quality was poor. The lady on the counter felt overwhelmed and quite rude when we asked for a warm milk for little one. Her reply was “I am bit busy atm”. I found they were under staffed while hotel was fully blocked.
Rooms outdated with old wooden rotten dirty windows frames.
Bath side panel held on with wood screws which had a sharp edge.
Told that breakfast wasnt included but im sure it was when booked
Part of the Wyndham chain, this hotel is situated just off a roundabout on some main roads with a good sized car park nice and close to the entrance which was fortunate due to the monsoon weather. I was greeted warmly on check-in . The room was smart and clean although the window was quite an old wooden frame. The hotel had a decently equipped gym which I made full use of. The shower was so good that I had to turn down the pressure which is a first for a hotel shower. I slept well in a very comfy king sized bed. Breakfast was on a buffet basis with plenty of options available and was delicious. Outside of tired décor in the corridors and some mold on the bathroom sealant, everything ensured I have a fantastic overnight stay and I would look to stay here again given the chance.
Upgraded on arrival from a double room to a superior double. The room I was upgraded to was in absolutely disgusting state. I have no idea what bodily fluids were on this chair but it doesn’t bare thinking about. Went to the restaurant for food and that has gone massively downhill. I’ve stayed in this hotel a few times on business but it just shows how much something can deteriorate in such a short space of time. It does make you wonder if it has been used as a migrant hotel.
Attended a family wedding staff were very helpful food was lovely rooms were clean and comfortable and the breakfast was excellent plenty of options to choose from.
Great property. Very helpful staff and nice restaurant. Highly recommend. Easy to drive to most locations mid Wales and Cardiff.
We stayed at this hotel from 18–20 July. Unfortunately, our experience fell well short of what you would expect from a four-star property.
Our shower had no hot water. On the first day we had to be given access to a different room just to wash. By the second day the problem still hadn’t been fixed, no one had updated us, and the staff on duty weren’t aware of the ongoing issue. We had to explain everything again and ended up trying two more rooms before we could finally shower.
To be clear, the staff we dealt with during our stay – including housekeeping – were lovely, apologetic and genuinely tried to help. The real disappointment came afterwards: despite emailing the hotel (as instructed by reception staff) three times, the only reply I ever received was a brief message saying the manager will deal with it next week. That never happened, and all further contact was ignored. Even when Hotels.com chased the matter up on my behalf, the hotel flatly refused to offer so much as an apology, let alone a refund or gesture of goodwill.
The lack of hot water was inconvenient enough, but the complete refusal to engage with my complaint afterwards was what really left a bad impression. A four-star hotel should be able to manage basic facilities and, at the very least, communicate with its guests when something goes wrong. Sadly, this hotel failed on both counts.
Quite run down.
No window in my room.
I don’t think I would stay again.
Parking good though.
Really dated hotel
Not clean or comfy
There was a wedding on and it was utter chaos- delayed service staff were stressed
A good hotel in the area we wanted. Check was slow due to staff being busy with a School Leavers Prom. Room was clean and comfortable.
Easy to find good parking
Wonderful staff. Huge bedroom and bathroom. Bathroom needed renovation but was spotless. Delicious breakfasts, great choice on offer and all freshly cooked. Dinner was equally good and again wonderful service. Would stay again 😊
The hotel looks amazing on the pictures but in real life doesn’t quite reflect the same. The room was OK but the bathroom was very dated. Plug hole was broken but this was fixed when asked. We were also woken up at 3am to the fire alarm going off which absolutely terrified me.
Didn’t eat in the restaurant to comment on the food. I thought room service was an option here (I may be wrong) but there was no information about this anywhere.
We booked family room for 4, but glasss and tea cups were arranged for 3, bathroom sink was not drainig propery, its blocked, shower gel bottle Was empty.
