We loved the place and overall we had wonderful experience with great memories.
Pros:

Buffet breakfast was top notch.
The hotel very clean and well maintained.
Room view was unbelievable and extra large bed was even better.
Staff very friendly and accommodating.
Will definitely recommend Umthunzi Hotel to family & Friends.

Cons:

Stayed on the 2nd floor so no elevators was the only negative.

Pros:

The room was clean.
Reception staff was welcoming and whole staff was nice.

Cons:

Tv had bad picture with very few channels, not even one channel showed soccer world cup games since it's world cup season.
Lot of disturbing noisy things at night.
Air-conditioning did not heat up in the room.
Breakfast was not nice.
Parking is not user friendly.
None visible security on site since the gate was always open.

The deco in the room. The singing part while having breakfast with my Fiance ( Had the best birthday) . The BEST service received from Mlondi, may He keep up his great customer service.

Location and cleanliness of the facility

The steps to the rooms.And they put me to the second floor.Next time please check if a person is an n elderly like me and give her the room in the first floor.As it now my knee is very sore

If you're hoping for a quiet getaway, you're out of luck
Pros:

We stayed at the hotel to enjoy the Northside Wine Festival - the location was fantastic, the rooms were lovely, beds comfortable and the breakfast delicious.

Cons:

There is a bar fridge in the room that is very noisy - it ticks, crackles and buzzes all night long. There is some or other pump system connected to the water so anytime you open a tap there is a loud whirring/whining noise. This can be heard from adjacent rooms if they use their water as well. Lastly, and this is not necessarily the hotels fault, but the noise from the other guests was insane! The screaming, yelling, banging of doors, top of their voices talking, laughing, etc THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT was unreal. I think it only got "quiet" (enough to fall asleep for more than a couple minutes) at around 5am. It was honestly one of the worst nights I have ever spent in any establishment.
