The rooms are honestly the best of class for a Marriott resort property. It makes sene that this hotel was built as a Ritz Carlton residence. The views are spectacular and the terrace is great. We had an issue when we checked in and Candee R. was very understanding and immediately resolved the problem. Great service. No restaurant on property to our family is a plus because it forces you to explore the local area and sample the great restaurants. The resort is perfect for relaxation and turning off your cell phones.
Wow! The best service and wonderful villas. View is out of this world, and everything works like it should. Very clean facilities.
Simply Spectacular.
On a promontory overlooking the mountains surrounding Kalapaki Beach on Kaua’i and the great Pacific beyond, these villas were originally created as residences, but are now available by Marriott for rent.
The rooms are in fact big 2 & 3 bedroom villas immaculately furnished with full kitchens and washer/dryers. Literally , a home in Paradise.
There are two medium sized pools and a well-equipped fitness centre.
Staff are courteous and helpful.
You really need a car here to get to shops and restaurants and of course, to explore the beautiful ‘Garden Isle’. I promise you will not be disappointed.
I really wanted to love this stay, but I’m leaving extremely disappointed. This property is marketed as a 4-star luxury Marriott resort, but it’s currently not living up to that brand.
We found cockroaches in multiple spots in our villa—both in the bathroom and in the kitchen right near our food. We have kids with us, so finding roaches where we’re eating and sleeping was a huge deal-breaker. The hotel offered to have someone clean the day before we left, but a quick scrub doesn't fix a pest problem in a villa with a kitchen.
The grounds are also in rough shape. There are abandoned, decaying buildings and stalled construction projects all over the place that aren't shown in the photos online. It feels like a construction site in parts, and there’s no on-site dining or basic amenities you’d expect at these prices.
The staff we spoke to were polite, but the management’s resolution was a joke—they offered us 5,000 points (about a $40 value). That’s an insulting "fix" for a stay compromised by pests and misrepresented property conditions.
I’ve uploaded photos of the roaches and the state of the grounds so other travelers (especially families) know what they’re actually walking into. We’ve already filed a formal complaint with Marriott Corporate and the Kauai Health Office. Save your money and book elsewhere until they actually address these issues.
If you are a Marriott Vacation Club owner, you will be very disappointed in this resort. Unlike the other Marriott resorts I’ve been to in Hawaii, this one 1) does not have a beach to walk to and relax on 2) does not have any adult activities like yoga, water aerobics, mixology classes 3) there is no bar or restaurant on the premises and therefore no one to bring food or drinks by the pool. 4) Speaking of the pool, it is so small and packed with kids, I did not/could not go in. The water was warm and unappealing. I had hoped to relax by a serene pool for this vacation but this did not happen. There is no guard at the gate, like most MVCs, and it seemed that local kids had free access to this pool. No one came by to check wristbands or anything. This was not the Marriott Vacation Club experience that I’ve enjoyed over the 20 years I’ve been an owner.
I suppose if you don’t mind not having a nice pool, restaurant, bar, resort activities, or beach access, you could enjoy yourself. The rooms are super clean, quiet, and spacious, the appliances new (though so complicated to use I had to ask the front desk), has all the kitchen utensils you need, there’s a nice balcony and furnishings. The property is large and we took some very nice, long walks. But still fell short- I want a pina colada!
I was a little worried after booking and reading different reviews.
But this is the most beautiful resort out of all the Marriotts we have been too.
Paradise!! Views amazing! Staff Excellent!!! Front in check in beat we have ever experienced.
Bryan a wonderful happy face to see after a 14 flying day.❤️
Our 18 month old grandson well taken care of.
Pack and play crib provided, high chair.
If your kids are a bit older there is fishing for the kids at the lagoons out front.
Costco and Safeway a short drive away.
Can’t say enough good things about this place!
Aloha - my wife and I celebrated our 45th wedding anniversary and her birthday at Kauai Lagoons. This was our fourth stay at Kauai Lagoons and we have already booked for next October 2026.
The property is absolutely beautiful and the refreshed rooms show and function very well.
The entire Staff here is amazing and really takes care of the property. Gardeners, grill cleaners, pool cleaners, housekeeping were busy throughout our 9 day stay.
Some things to ponder: we noticed that construction seems to have stopped for now at the Timbers Resort as there was no construction equipment visible. There is a new Hilton Hotel being constructed o the east end of the Kauai Beach Club property. Although visible, the construction did not impact our visit.
Also, since our return flight to the mainland was scheduled to leave Lihue at 8:30 PM we booked an additional night so we could leave the property and go right to the airport. It sure made the last day on Kauai a very easy and relaxed day.
Special thank you to Brittany at the Front Desk who was very pleasant and helpful during our stay! Safe travels to all!
Mahalo!
Staff was fantastic!!! Very quiet and well kept. Beds were comfortable.
The area was so beautiful, well maintained. Friend ly staff. Easy to get to different areas
We loved it !!
Every time I stay here, I always get top notch service. The staff were very attentive and prompt especially during the time when we were on the tsunami watch. They were updating everyone on the current situation and disaster plan. We were fortunate enough that the property stayed on the green zone meaning we were safe.
Amazing time! My family traveled with 6 adults and 5 children 3 and under. Resorts like this make us proud to be MVC owners. The team that Jared, Candee and others have drafted are a great example of how happy respected players out perform expectations. Britney's front desk team is a prime example. Bryan, Daphane, Noelani, Crystal are just a few of the knowledgeable and always ready to help with a smile.
Alyssa was absolutely wonderful doing crafts with the adults and children.
The security team was cordial but protective of the grounds that the landscaping group take great pride in.
Cannot say enough about the housekeeping crew.
For future visitors-
One issue we had was this is a cashless resort. We ran out of tip money and will not let that happen again.
We look forward to another great visit next year!
Aloha
Nice location, decent rooms, well equipped kitchen.
Lack of flexibility (with check in/ check out) give its a Marriott vacations property, no room service, dining facilities
If you want some quiet, secluded time, in a THREE bedroom timeshare, this is the place to be. Off the beaten path with great views. Grounds are extremely well kept.
Although some rooms are island views and other are ocean views, ALL rooms can see the ocean and the bay. Been here multiple times and love the location. This is not a full service facility, no room service, restaurant, or other amenities. They do have an activities center, pretty decent workout facility, a pool (that although small, never seems crowded), and a 24 hour mini mart for sundries, food, and drink items. The engineering team and front desk staff are second to none and will address any issues that you may have. Only reason for a rating of four instead of five is that the closest shopping, beach, restaurants are a mile away.
We went with a family as a part of our Marriott Vacation Club. From beginning to the end the stay was very enjoyable. Our rooms were well equipped. Staff was very attentive, friendly, always willing to go an extra mile to keep us as comfortable as possible.
They also had a nice variety of activities.
Absolutely stunning! The view we had was incredible! Everything was green lush! Very clean property! The pool was perfect for little ones, check in was a breeze!
We loved everything about this property!
Amazing and friendly staff!
Beautiful place. Staff were extra nice and professional. Rooms excellent. Just wished there was a restaurant or cafe shop.
Room was nice. Staff at front desk should have been. One older lady in particular very condescending to my daughter. Other than that not a bad stay considering it's right by the airport and jets are very noisy!
Booked this hotel on the Bonvoy app when we were stuck at the airport. Big mistake. I figured out in the middle of the night that there was no air conditioning. I assumed that it stopped working during the night and called the front desk just to let them know. The manager informed me that he knew there was no air-conditioning when I checked in and he "forgot" to tell me. It was very clear to me that he was lying and that I'd been scammed into paying $700 for a hotel room that had no air conditioning. He offered a 10% discount on my bill. I called Marriott corporate expecting they would be pretty concerned at the dishonesty but they said "Marriott Vacations Worldwide and Marriott International are separate entities" and they forwarded my complaint back to the property. I know the vacation club/timeshare business can be shady but for Marriott International? The property is also pretty rundown by the way.
