Lovely traditional hotel but noisy!
Pros:

Centre of town with good parking. Lovely staff, traditional hotel. Powerful shower

Cons:

So noisy! If your a light sleeper ask for a room at the back of the hotel where it might be a little quieter. Our room at the front was noisy- the church bells are ridiculous especially at 6 in the morning when they go on forever!
Bed was way too soft for my liking and room was hot even with all windows open

Postkarten-Idylle: Bezauberndes Romantik-Hotel mit sehr zugewandt-zuvorkommendem Personal und leckerem Restaurant - an absolut bester Lage. Habe prompt eine Nacht verlängert.

Pros:

Wunderschönes traditionelles Hotel mit viel Liebe zum Detail. Das Hotel liegt super zentral.

Cons:

Hierbei geht es nicht, um Nichtgefallen, sondern praktisch wären Steckdosen in Bettnähe. Aber mir ist bewusst, dass es sich um ein Tradinionshaus und nicht um ein modernes Neuzeithotel handelt.

Delightful!
Pros:

Awesome staff, we got upgraded. The staff were very helpful and attentive.
Loved the old apenzell vibe…took me back to the summer days I stayed with my Grosi as a child. Clean and tidy rooms. Recommended!

Cons:

No AC or fans in the room so with the heatwave it was a bit too hot in the room.

Great stay in historical Swiss hotel
Pros:

Beautiful historical Swiss hotel right in the centre of Appenzell but only a short walk to station. Staff throughout were amazing helpful and courteous. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice including a cooked option. We were massively impressed and hope to return in the future

Cons:

We stayed during a 35 degree heatwave so room was a little hot as understandably there was no A/C. Staff supplied fan which helped tremendously. Would have liked tea/coffee making facilities in room but given the heat we made good use of the fridge in the room!
