Best location! We had 8 people arriving at different times.. just a 5 minute walk around the corner from the train station. Even with fresh snow the morning we departed we had very little trouble walking with our gear and suitcases to the train.
Everything was within a 5-10 minute walk. We saw other places way up a hill. Totally worth paying more to be so conveniently located.
Great friendly staff! The FREE Breakfast was perfect! Multiple coffee machines with a delicious blend! I had cappuccino every day. We rarely ate lunch on the slopes as we loaded up in the morning.
Nice lobby and bar area with music. They had free tea time 4-6 pm… nice cake treats and coffee & tea and FREE water!
We had dinner there two nights… it was excellent!
The single beds were comfortable. We arranged to put the small couch between beds for those sharing rooms and didn’t want to be right next to each other.
Big room to keep ski equipment and boots with warmers.. never had to lug them up to our room.
Having a refrigerator in room would be a great option. Access to coffee machines all day would be extra special.
Radiant heat was hard to control… but that goes with the territory.
It would be nice to have access to bar and lobby area after hours as some people couldn’t sleep due to time change… no other place to hang out past 11:00 pm.

We stayed at Hotel Butterfly, Zermatt for two nights and paid around $780 USD, yet received service that was completely unacceptable.
From arrival, the blonde receptionist (Reneta, I believe) was rude, unwelcoming, and dismissive. No greeting, no explanation of the hotel, no basic courtesy. Despite emailing in advance about the shuttle, none was sent, forcing us to carry four heavy bags uphill. When questioned, her response was a careless “Did you tell us?” — followed by no apology or solution.
We were given a 6th-floor room when the lift only goes to the 5th, with no assistance or instructions. Every interaction with reception was met with attitude, as if guests were a burden.
To make things worse, there was no proper Wi-Fi connectivity at all, which is unacceptable in this day and age - especially at this price point.
Breakfast was mediocre, staff were unfriendly, and the location is nothing special. There is absolutely nothing positive or memorable about this property.
We have traveled across the world and have never encountered hospitality this demeaning. This experience has genuinely tainted our stay, and it is not something we will forget.
I would never recommend this hotel to friends or family - whether in Italy, Switzerland, or anywhere else. Management seriously needs to re-evaluate their staff’s behavior, professionalism, and suitability for guest-facing roles. Guests deserve respect. Basic courtesy is not optional.

Breakfast is also great, and the staff are very friendly.
The location: very strategic and near to the train station, the hotel is just behind McDonald's, easy to find!
