Friendly staff

You should stay at this hotel largely to have dinner at the fantastic restaurant. The grounds are quite pretty and the rooms are very comfortable. Expedia users should be warned that the staff book reservations but hand on pieces of paper and they could not find my reservation even though I booked 8 months before. They luckily found me a room.

This stay was just amazing with fantastic food, brilliant staff, comfort to die for. This is truly a switch-off, bring a good book, sit back and relax place. This was a special birthday break and it was made all the better by being at the Mustard Seed. Lots of places to go and visit if you so choose. A wonderful three days and nights and I haven't even mentioned John and his team. It wouldn't happen without them.

Our stay at The Mustard Seed was truly a wonderfully relaxing one…..,excellent food. The gardens around the house are beautiful. The staff are excellent and the host himself a pure gentleman.

John Joyce was so welcoming and to be totally honest it was truly a delightful stay.

Lovely property with gorgeous food. Intimate setting perfect for a quiet getaway.

Accommodation, bathroom, staff and food were excellent.
The pillows were a bit hard.
Owner organised breakfast 30 minutes earlier than normal start time to facilitate my work day. and arranged payment the night before to avoid delay in morning.
Breakfast was outstanding.

Charming hotel with charming hosts and superb food.

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights, and used it as a base to explore the nearby towns and sights by car.

We would drive all day and come back in the evening for dinner in the restaurant, or a cosy glass of wine in the library by the fire. Then we would head up to our room, with large windows overlooking the garden.

It is an old building, with a creaky wooden staircase, rustic old furniture and general "old-world" feel to it, which is exactly what we were looking for.

The hotel management knew the area very well. They took the time to understand the kind of stuff we wanted to see and do, and gave us wonderful recommendations. The hotel is within comfortable driving distance (1.5 hours) from Killarney National Park, the Cliffs of Moher, the quaint old town of Adare, and several other interesting places.

The Mustard Seed was fabulous! We were there in September during a rainy period (normal for this time of year). Our hosts lit a nice wood fire for us in the sitting room. The room was fantastic with a great view. Dinner was world class. We would later find out that the Mustard Seed started as a restaurant in a nearby town and was later transferred to the hotel. They have won numerous awards for their gastronomy.
