Located downtown near the train station. I was surprised how quiet it was from the outside noise, ie, train whistle & traffic. Hot tub was delightful and a couple of kids enjoyed the pool. I loved the happy hour and sadly we couldn’t stay as long as we wanted. Breakfast was good and coffee was excellent. A small patio outside our room was nice.
The noise from the swimming pool was quite loud throughout the building. There were ear plugs available in the room so the noise is a problem. Not a lot of parking spaces available- it was full to capacity when we were there.
Convenient location, parking right near the room
Couldn’t get hot water at all. The heating units are extremely loud, we shut our off but could hear them from other rooms.
The hotel is in a perfect location for shopping, eating and boarding the train. We were able to get back on the road to our final destination quickly. They have an indoor pool in the middle of the hotel. You can easily watch the action from outside your room. Food was excellent and they give free drinks during happy hour to each adult.
I liked how close the property was to the Main Street downtown Durango.
The room that was issued had no view whatsoever and restroom and bath were situated poorly.
Location was great!
Nothing
Everything was far above my expectations - the surprise of the included Happy Hour will keep my partner and I coming back!
Todo
The location and indoor pool/bar are everything. The hotel itself is very cute but rooms could have been cleaner. The room heaters blow directly on one of the beds (literally blowing on your face 2 feet away) and is unavoidable if you want heat (went in December). The extremely old heaters are grossly filled with dust and grime. I spent the entire night hiding my face with a pillow wall and sheets. The other guests in my party told the same stories the next morning so sleeping was hard for everyone in my group. The shower didn’t drain either and all the antique vent things in the bathroom were covered in decades old dust as well. Pretty much if you looked in any corner or crevice of the room it looked to not have been thoroughly cleaned in a long time. The pool was so awesome though and attached to the breakfast/bar. Decent breakfast and free drink vouchers were provided. The front desk staff was very friendly. The breakfast staff for the most part were very friendly accept one burned out woman who was huffing and puffing through the cafeteria walking behind people and muttering to herself (not really to herself) and loudly closing the serving trays when people left them open. It was pretty passive aggressive but you could take your food out by the pool if you didn’t want to hear her. Walking through the town and being so close to the train station was a big bonus and made the downfalls much easier to put aside. The only other complaint is they don’t tell you but your keycard stops working at 11am everyday. That was very annoying since the kids in our party were swimming in the indoor pool and wet but had to walk outside in December to get to the outdoor room which was a quick run for them except we were locked out of our room.
Great breakfast
Breakfast was good - good choices and tasty. Loved being able to enjoy my complimentary drinks beside the pool after a long day of travel.
The check in could have been more efficient. Had to wait longer than expected even though I checked in prior online.
Liegt zentral
Das Hotel riecht muffig und das Frühstück war äußerst rudimentär
