Booking.com should get the dog policy right.
Pros:

Lovely lady checked us in (and served good and drinks).
Breakfast was great with a nice cooked breakfast and plenty of options in the buffet.

Cons:

I booked the hotel because it came up as dog-friendly on booking.com. When we arrived, the room that I had booked, following my search for dog-friendly accommodation, was not dog-friendly. They offered us a different room that wasn't as nice, but was the same price. Then there was a £20 charge for the dogs. None of this was made clear at the time of booking and the hotel couldn't find it in my booking. Goodness knows where we would have stayed if they had been fully booked. This is not a complaint about the hotel itself but about the booking.com site. I appreciate that not all rooms are dog-friendly, but why, when you search for a dog-friendly hotel, does the system let you book a room that doesn't fit your criteria? Also why isn't the charge shown when you book?

In terms of the hotel, our room was small and was freezing cold. The heating was on, but the little radiator just wasn't bug enough to warm the room. Then at about 6:30 pm it went off altogether - apparently it is on a timer, but what a strange time to turn it off. In fairness, the nice lady who does everything else brought us a heater, which was much appreciated.

The evening menu was limited with only 6 main course options, including a vegetarian dish. They had run out of fish & chips, which was the only thing I really fancied, and we ended up with a fairly tasteless pasta dish. Disappointing for a country pub!

Pros:

Room was well appointed and very clean. Staff were first rate and very helpful.
Breakfast was made to order , Good local ingredients.
Evening meal , Good top end pub food. . Will stay again .

Cons:

Family room needed a mirror over dressing table. Not a complaint, just a comment !

Amazing staff, cosy accommodation, lovely food!
Pros:

Staff were so friendly and went above and beyond when they helped us get to a local wedding when we were having issues with taxis. We felt so welcomed staying there and everything was so cosy and comfortable. A magical weekend!

Lovely place to stay for a short break.Would reccomend.
Pros:

Two couples stayed for a night here and had a very comfortable pleasant stay.
Clean comfortable bedrooms with ensuite. Very friendly and accomodating staff.
Food in restuarant was very good all in the company had a different dish and all enjoyed their meal.
A car is reccomended to explore the surrounding area as the inn is in a small village.

Can't wait to visit again.
Pros:

Staff were very welcoming and put themselves out to help us. The room was spotless and comfortable. A good selection of both cereals and a hearty full Scottish breakfast set us up for the day.
