A nice hotel with a family feeling. Brilliant staff, friendly and helpful. Meals excellent. (Try the mussles) and good value. All bedrooms on first floor and no lift, but we were advised of this when booking, so it was not a problem. Clean and bright rooms. We will stay there again.
Only reason didn’t mark 5/5 no beans on full English 🤣and no lift to rooms upstairs room on small side but was fine parking good , and lovely location
Nice Hotel, friendly staff, good food and easy parking, clean rooms, in all above average for a good price. Nice location too. Would recommend.
High expectations considering the reviews so what possibly could go wrong?
Let’s start; are we sitting comfortably?
I booked a double room but ended up with 2 x single beds that Ken and Barbie, Oompahloompahs or a flea would struggle with. The duvet was the cheapest of cheap that repeatedly slid off the bed. The mattress was equivalent to a waterbed that lacked water so I rolled about like I was on a Warship in the North Atlantic.
Upon entering the room, the radiator was set to level 5 so it was tropical in the room so much that the complimentary biscuits had melted and trying to cool the room was impossible due to the window being inadequate to ventilate.
The carpet had clumps of hair from a brush that was obviously cleaned and deposited on the “very clean” floor.
A half used toilet roll ( is austerity still prevalent in the backside hygiene department?) and no shower gel was provided so hand wash became the shower accoutrement
Breakfast was a whole new affair - full Scottish was a heart attack of swimming grease and overcooked nightmares clearly honed in a prison cookhouse all served with the complete indifference of the waitress who couldn’t care less and insisted on my sitting where she wanted but that didn’t apply to other guests- I was in work attire so clearly her biased prejudice was working overtime. Naturally I sat where I felt comfortable as she mumbled some incomprehensible objections whilst directing a couple who turned up in their pyjamas to sit where they wanted!! All very surreal!
I work and stay all over Europe and the UK but it takes coming back to my home to make me see why I left. It’s a buyers market- and a field would have offered better options.
Dire!
Stunning hotel, very clean staff were very polite and helpful, would have liked to see a double mattress on the bed instead of two single, still got a great sleep
We stayed over for my friends wedding. I was last in this hotel 32 years ago. The hotel is spotlessly clean and so stylish. A lot of money has been spent on this place for sure. Our room was lovely with an especially beautiful bathroom. The bed was so comfortable with lovely linen.
The wedding reception was wonderful our only comment is the main was lukewarm but the service over ran so maybe that’s why. The garden room where the bride and groom stayed is something else! Just absolute wow!
In the morning we had breakfast at 9am. It wasn’t especially busy but we were told there was no avocado or baked beans. I never understand this with hotels when there are shops a few minutes away to buy more supplies.
Anyway my husband had the full breakfast and I had the eggs Royale both really lovely.
We would not hesitate to book this hotel again, we will definitely be back, hopefully in that garden room as a wee treat
We had our wedding at The Redhurst and it was the best day ever ! The venue itself is absolutely beautiful, and everything ran so smoothly from start to finish. Becky was fantastic in the lead-up, always quick to answer any questions and making the planning process so much easier. On the day, Lorraine was amazing at keeping everything on track, and all of the staff were so helpful, friendly, and professional. We couldn’t have asked for better.
We also stayed in the Garden House for two nights, which was such a lovely addition. The space was gorgeous and having the hot tub made it extra special.
I honestly can’t recommend The Redhurst enough if you’re considering a wedding venue. Everything was seamless, stress-free, and made for a day we’ll never forget.
The hotel was tastefully decorated and had a relaxed atmosphere. There was ample parking and the staff friendly and very helpful with lovely Scottish accents.High praise to the housekeeping staff for their attention to detail. The food was excellent with a hearty choice at breakfast that would have fed you for the day. Location was excellent with an easy 20min drive to the city centre or take a 5 min walk to the train station. This will be my first choice of hotel when visiting Glasgow again.
Has gone downhill rapidly. This used to be a lovely place for something to eat but you can tell they are trying to claw back some profit by skimping on things. I ordered "Katsu curry loaded fries with fresh chili", for £7 no less, and what arrived was a small bowl, the kind you'd put cereal in, with a bit of sauce on top of some chips. No sign of a fresh chilli anywhere. I fail to see what they were "loaded" with? It was just a wee bowl of chips and sauce! Absolute rip off!
We took my Mum for lunch at the Redhurst today - a belated birthday treat....or at least, it should've been. The waiting staff were perfectly fine, but the food, I'm afraid, was a massive disappointment for all three of us.
I had the haddock goujons, Mum had the chicken escalope with peppercorn sauce, and my husband ordered Katsu chicken. The goujons had hardly any fish in them (and I do mean 'hardly any'), mainly made up of very overdone batter. Mum's chicken was overcooked and the peppercorn sauce was ridiculously peppery. I thought she was dramatizing slightly until I tried it myself, and I like spice of all kinds, but it was crazy strong with pepper. My husband's Katsu chicken had a similar issue to mine in that there was hardly any chicken - again, mostly overdone batter. The Katsu sauce was very bland. The best part of his dish was the rice which came with it.
Dessert-wise, Mum ordered sticky toffee pudding and we shared a chocolate brownie with ice-cream. Now, my Mum has a sweet tooth, but she struggled to finish hers as the pudding itself, had clearly been zapped too long in the microwave and was very chewy. Our chocolate brownie, wasn't terrible, but certainly didn't taste homemade (possibly out of some catering pack).
Such a shame as it's a lovely looking venue, but we won't be back.
We had the absolute pleasure of having our wedding at the redhurst hotel 10th May 2025 and my god what a place. They were top notch from start to finish, making every request seem like it was nothing. The big day went without a single issue and that was all thanks to the incredible Lorraine who was managing it all, thank you! It was a day that we will both remember for the rest of our lives and the redhurst was just such a huge part of that. Couldn’t recommend it enough!
From the ceremony to the reception, everything was perfect — the venue looked beautiful, the food was amazing, and the whole day ran so smoothly. Their team were absolutely fantastic throughout the day. We booked 2 extra rooms for our guests which they loved, there were packets of sweets waiting for them inside their rooms. Great service.
A special mention to our wedding coordinator Becky, very kind, and so helpful from start to finish. And we’ll never forget the lovely lady at reception who helped us sort out a last-minute wedding cake when ours was cancelled on the day. Her quick thinking and kindness truly saved the moment!
We also stayed over for afternoon tea which was fantastic, felt like an amazing holiday.
Family would definitely recommend!
Great experience staff were very friendly and helpful
Loved the breakfasts cooked by Chef John .
Dinning service by Emma was superb .
I’ll definitely be back
I had the good fortune that my company put me up in this lovely hotel. Really clean and well kept with boutique decor. Staff are warm and friendly and the food was amazing, highly recommend the Full Scotish breakfast it was amazing but in fairness all the food was a high standard.
we planned our wedding here in only six months, from start to finish it was absolutely perfect. Having the wedding coordinators/toastmasters really made a difference in keeping all the organising and the actual day run so smoothly. Every member of staff we spoke to was so so lovely, very knowledgeable and helpful. The hotel is in a nice location and the place is absolutely stunning, especially the grand ballroom. The photos of it and the honeymoon suite really don’t do it justice I would really recommend taking a tour as myself and my partner couldn’t believe how gorgeous it was. The honeymoon suite is honestly the size of a small house. So many little extras were included that we would never have expected or thought of.
The food was a real highlight for me, so many options and the two dinners and breakfast we had was unbelievable. The food on our wedding day came out to everyone within minutes and was roasting.
I was slightly worried about just going with the DJ they provided and not picking our own but he was unreal, took on all our suggestions and made sure all our guests had a really fun night.
The planning was an absolute breeze, every question we had was answered and sorted quickly.
It’s really clear that they do a lot of weddings and know exactly what they’re doing, while still taking into account the wee personal changes and details that we had on our day.
Really could not find fault with anything on our big day and im so so happy we went with this location.
Good fun night away.
Clean and in good order with only a few marks and damage to table and wall.
Cons - the bed was really uncomfortable and a lack of quality toiletries available given its £500 a night bed and breakfast.
Pros - the hotel supplied 4 ready mixed cocktails (no choice in the selection), 4 chocolate covered strawberries and some crisps and nuts (one packet out of date). Great hot tub and chill out area.
We’ve done it so wouldn’t do it again but it was good fun and would recommend for a fun night.
Disappointing and very average. After a very bad down period we had heard the Redhurst had picked up. Thought it was worse than before to be honest. We only went in for coffee and it was sooo average. You'd get better in a corner cafe. The hot chocolate i had to send back as it was hot milk with no chocolate. Second time lucky, it was better but not what I would class as a hot chocolate. Latte was ok. Nearly hot but bearable and drinkable. I really wouldn't rush back.
Staff were all absolutely excellent and the design is very good, but sound-proofing is poor and a very loud event in the function room below me kept me up very late.
Design of the rooms is a little under-baked with heavy bathroom doors that jam and leaky showers, clearly refurbished recently to a high standard but lacking forethought.
Breakfast is served pretty late in the morning compared to other hotels so business travel might be an issue for some. Price is fair for what you get.
The staff at this hotel are amazing, kind, professional and very efficient. We stayed there for a funeral, not the happiest of times, but Chris , the manager, did everything he could to make our stay excellent, even down to cooking us a late breakfast! The wake was also held in the hotel (for a huge number of people) and the food was superb. The staff in the bar, including a new recruit of only 5 days (Duncan, Douglas? so sorry) were very attentive, bringing drinks and snacks whenever they were needed. Chris obviously trains them all very well. They all seem a very happy team too!
The room was comfortable too!!
Family meal yesterday at the Redhurst .
Food such poor quality . Overpriced
Service staff front of house excellent & managed our complaint very well .
The quality of the food is far from the price point .
Sparse use of ingredients to maximise profit margins .
Note another 1 star review from yesterday .
