The setting and location of this hotel is quite beautiful. The situation is fantastic and the views over their parkland and beyond are idyllic. The cooked a la carte breakfast was nice but the other breakfast options were limited to very simple cereals, yoghurts, juices and preserves. The young staff were very nice.
Our stay was ok, but this hotel, which is priced at a premium (£250+ per night) is, in reality, quite old and run down and is not really the fine country house hotel it purports to be. The hotel is in need of serious renovation and everything about it is quite 'old and tired'. This hotel could be beautiful, but it's a 3-star rating (at best) and needs some big investment in a quality renovation by the owners. I wouldn't stay here again in its current state at this price.
Food was very nice.
Not enough staff , no one to check us out when we left, always looking for someone for service?
I still do not have my bill for the stay and can't check if it is correct?
We booked the suite and it is very nice , except no towels had been left in the room.
We stay here at least once a year. Tranquil and kind.
We married there 40 years ago, had a fabulous Time and wanted to « celebrate » with family … but what a disapointment ..
Unfriendly hostess, zero flexibility with « rules ». ( We booked three rooms for four days so could have expected some degree of flexibility - hotel definitely not full !-).
Overpriced .
Slow service.
Food not great.
Fabulous location and potential, though: a pitty really.
Beautiful ad homely hotel. Staff very helpful. View from our room gorgeous. Food excellent.
Decor a little tired. Our Bath had bad damage marks. Drinks extremely expensive.

I held a business event at Willington. A mini retreat about social media and I loved it and so did everyone who came along. The hotel and staff were super super friendly and went out of their way to help. The food and the mocktails were STUNNING! and the venue speaks for itself. Dreamy! Thank you Moira and team we will be back very soon! Highly recommend !
Lovely period property
Upgraded one of the rooms and the tv didn’t work, sat in the window for dinner which was under a radiator. Which was very hot and became very uncomfortable
Terrible experience today; I had booked for afternoon tea for my friends and they had the booking down incorrectly for 16 February and marked me as a ‘no show’ I was in India on the 16th and simply didn’t book for this date. They said we could have a scone each a glass of Prosecco and tea and coffee! They asked me to pay for four more scones and another desert, which I did. It was embarrassing and I was made to feel awful. Won’t be going again… the only good thing was my friend said the afternoon tea looked pretty pathetic anyway
Clean
Old
Beautiful building and location
Interior feels bit dated
The staff were great !
Cleaning is an issue in all areas - the restaurant hadn’t been hoovered / cleaned from the night before - dust and dirt is the norm.
The room was lovely and the food was amazing. Well done to the chef.
The reception area was messy and there was an unpleasant smell in the hallway
We booked this place for afternoon tea and it wasn't that great. That said, the setting of the house is fantastic, and the poor staff who are run off their feet are very nice. Nicer than I would be under the stress.
Back tot he afternoon tea. The sandwiches were nice, they really were, just not enough of them. The single scone eat was OK, but used to 2 scones eat. The 3 cakes each were coffee, walnut and an eclair. The 80 year old and the 92 year old in our party don't like coffee, or walnut. To be honest, I think they are marmite flavours. Non of us wanted to say anything because the poor girl working was snowed under and seemed to be doing everything on her own. We didn't want to add to her workload.
I say the above hoping WH picks up on this and makes improvements, this could be a fantastic place. for afternoon tea.
The overall look of the hotel. The food was nice. The bed was comfortable.
The shower water pressure was bad. The man who checked us in was rude and very uncomfortable to be around.
