Like the atmosphere, garden and breakfast
Rooma and dining room need an upgrade.
Very nice stay at the old rectory hotel. Extremely hot weather lovely outside garden seating area with lovely pool. 😍
Super fresh home cooked breakfast, compliments to the breakfast team.
Nothing to dislike, very relaxed and chilled atmosphere particularly on the hottest day ever recorded in the UK!
Lovely hotel, very pleasant and helpful staff.
Lovely english breakfast, and plenty to chose in cereals and drinks.
Lovely grounds and nice heated outdoor pool.
Nothing..
The quiet and the cleanliness
Nothing
We really enjoyed our stay at the Old Rectory Hotel. We had two king sized ensuite rooms, one with a walk in shower and one with a bath and shower over. The beds were comfortable and had nice wardrobes and drawers.
The staff we met were absolutely wonderful; the two Gills and Jess were a delight. They really made us feel very welcome.
Beautiful gardens with scented flowers around the entrance to the reception. The pool was clean with plenty of seating on the poolside but the water was a little on the cool side even though it is meant to be heated but it is early in the year. The car park is spacious and right near the reception area.
The entrance to the hotel is off a very fast moving road. The drive could benefit from being wider to make it safer to turn onto the car park.
Near to both Norwich and the coast.
Clean.
Very friendly staff.
Good breakfast.
Swimming pool a nice ‘extra’
Tv is incredibly small in the room. I couldn’t even see the picture with my glasses on.
Location a little disappointing as not actually in a village, not a place where you could have an evening stroll.
Outside area and pool
No dining room offering a proper meal in the evening
The gardens were lovely. The hotel was quiet and tranquil.
Nothing really
Friendly staff. Very helpful and a lovely comfortable stay
The heated swimming pool was a win with my family
The main issue we had was the hot water pipes, which were incredibly loud whenever anyone used them and regularly woke both me and my husband during the night. Unfortunately, we also had very noisy neighbours, and with the thin walls, we could hear everything. They didn't settle down until around 2am, which wasn't ideal when our child is awake at 6am!
The TV in our room wasn't working and the WiFi was quite patchy, although neither was a major issue for us as we were only staying for one night. The room itself was perfectly adequate for a short stay.
One small improvement would be to provide larger towels. The towel provided wasn't really big enough for my five-year-old, so a larger option would have been appreciated
- easy to get to
- well located for exploring the Norfolk broads
- big car park
- good sized room and bathroom
- garden/pool area looked nice (was too cold & windy during our stay unfortunately)
- breakfast service staff were very friendly
- room needs a deep clean and some tlc: especially the bathroom: seals are mouldy, the shower caddy is rusty and coming off the walls, super mouldy non slip mat, anywhere that isn't easy to clean e.g. kettle, inside of bathroom bin lid, cracks, where the wall meets the floor joints etc. looks like it hasn't been cleaned in a looong while - grimy and hairs/pubes. It was pretty gross. I mentioned all this to the receptionist on check out and she just said "thanks", no apology. Looking at the previous reviews just now, someone's complained about this before and nothing's been done, so I don't have high hopes of it getting rectified 🙈
- the room doesn't have blackout curtains, so gets quite light very early morning in summer (if you have small children, you'll probably need 3x tommee tippee blackout travel blinds if you stay in room 21 - 2x for the huge double window and one for the window by the dressing table)
- scrambled eggs were inedible (so so dry and overdone). The rest of the breakfast was okay.
- road noise is loud all night. It might be better in some of the rooms further back.
Loverly surrounded garden, easy parking facilities. Good selection of food for breakfast. Pleasant staff members especially Gill the chief who was informative.
Nothing to dislike.
Breakfast was good. Staff friendly. Lovely gardens. Clean room.
Only few meals to choose from on their menu. Hotel bar closed at 9 pm.
Very friendly and great value. Wish we had known there was a heated outdoor pool.
Could not walk from there as no pavements on road.
Very friendly, clean and love the pool
