Clayton Hotel Birmingham

Our server Paulette was lovely, friendly and helpful.
The thing that let it down was the food.
Bland and no taste. We had been gifted a voucher for our anniversary and were very disappointed with.
The whole meal was not good and we came away feeling underwelmed.
Soup - tasteless
Mushrooms in a tin of tomatoes- awful
Brownie over done and burnt
If you do not like microwave food give it a miss.

Yes the atmosphere was excellent as it lovely warm relaxing and stylish setting. First impression was that everything was well prepared and managed by excellent staff organised expertly by Hisham who loffeeed excellent customer service and looked after all our needs. The whole experience from start to finish was 5 stars, at a lovely venue.

Room was nice, got a free upgrade with bath, which was nice, food not so nice,, waited an hour on valentines night, food wasn’t worth it, disappointed in food, 5 minute walk to bullring

I had dinner at the Clayton and the food was excellent. I per paid for a three course meal as part of my stay and didn’t have high expectation but the food was great. Very enjoyable. I was severed by Paulette who was very helpful.

Had an great meal and received excellent service from all staff, particularly Paulette. Will definitely return when next in Birmingham

I stayed at the Clayton Hotel Birmingham recently and, unfortunately, the experience was less than I expected.

Check-in itself was fine - the hotel was easy to find from the shopping centre car park, and there was no queue. I had booked a junior suite, which initially looked promising.

However, the room’s heating didn’t work. I didn’t report this at the time - I’d already unpacked, changed, and settled in, and the last thing I wanted was maintenance in the room for half an hour or having to move rooms. I bundled up instead. That said, this is something that really should have been checked before arrival.

I ordered room service, and while the food itself was lovely, it took three trips to get it right. The first delivery came without condiments. When I opened the lids, I realised the chips were missing too (which probably explained the lack of ketchup). A third trip was then needed to bring the chips.

After that, I thought I’d warm up with a hot bath - but the bath nozzle was broken off, and only one temperature came out: scalding hot, making it unusable.

The hotel has great potential. It’s modern, feels new, and has an excellent city-centre location. Unfortunately, it was really let down by a lack of basic upkeep and attention to detail. Next time, I’ll likely book the Premier Inn across the street instead.

My son and I have thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay here in Birmingham.
We've had breakfast lunch and dinner here.
The food was delicious, we had 3 course evening meal both nights.
The service we received from Paulett, Dominic and Aisha has been excellent.
It's been a lovely experience and we're so looking forward to returning again soon ..😊

My family and I visited the Clayton Hotel and had an evening meal in the restaurant. Aisha, Silika & Paulette were lovely and attentive. Warm, friendly and smiling whilst we dined.

Aircon set up and system dreadful. sleeping in a stuffy uncomfortably warm room with no ability to adjust. As many people have highlighted.
In my opinion, absolutely no point paying any amount of money for a hotel room if you can’t actually sleep.

Service in the restaurant, from Paulette and Kiyah, was smiling and helpful.

Paulette was absolutely amazing, she made our stay the best we have ever had! Definitely coming back. Happy new year! :)
