Great service and food
Pros:

Really great food, and dealt with my allergy perfectly.
Angela, our waitress/server was thoughtful, attentive, professional and had personality
I wasn’t keen on the music, a bit too jaunty for a romantic meal for 2.

Superb Weekend – Relais Cooden Beach Hotel Feb 6th – 8th Feb 2026
Pros:

We are just back home from a really superb group stay (22 pax) at the Relais Cooden Beach Hotel, Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex. This trip was nearly a year in the planning, aimed to coincide with the first weekend of the 2026 Six Nations Rugby competition. Firstly, my thanks go out to Kerry (Events & Sales Exec) for being so proactive, approachable and professional in ensuring all the detail was agreed, well in advance of the stay.

The Cooden Beach Hotel proved to be a little gem, tucked away in a lovely, quiet beach location, in East Sussex – the noticeably friendly & welcoming staff are a real highlight, setting the tone for a very relaxed and friendly stay with excellent hospitality. The rooms were very clean, warm, well stocked and the beds very comfortable. Additionally, we were able to hire an excellent private room & bar for the Saturday, in the hotel, to host a meeting followed by an afternoon watching the Six Nations rugby games. The video facility showing the rugby was excellent, coupled with the private bar and food laid on, was another memorable part of the stay. The evening meal was a formal (suit & tie, by our choice) in the beautiful restaurant area – the food proved another highlight, (compliments to the chef for laying on a great menu with the food of a very high standard); really tasty and enjoyable.

Saturday was our main day and our gratitude must go Rose and Sam who hosted us throughout the day and evening – they really epitomised the warm and friendly nature of all Cooden Beach Hotel staff. Other thanks go the Bilal, Simon and the many other young staff who complimented this memorable & great weekend.

Thank you & all the best, Tony & the lads (Celer et Audax).

Pros:

The food and the room

Cons:

That when we checked out, the person on reception didnt ask if everything was ok. Didn't check to see if we needed to pay for anything. They were more interested in a fellow staff member who was going off shift.

Highly recommend.
Pros:

Excellent service from start to finish by the team at Relais Cooden Beach. Good communication by Kerry to prepare and book the small event I was running in one of the conference rooms. The team of Caitlin, Rose and Kellen warmly welcomed me on arrival and made sure the event was signposted for delegates to find easily. There was a meeting in the adjacent room, but we tested noise before the start as I had some video to play and they use a bell, but we were oblivious to any noise from next door. Food was nice and plenty of hot drinks to select from with the option of purchasing barista coffees or drinks from the restaurant. Would highly recommend for meetings with free parking, accessible facilities and good access to train station <5 mins walk. EV chargers are available and one delegate used successfully. Prices vary seasonally, which can make it pricey, but compared to many venues it is an excellent choice.

Fawlty Towers dining experience
Pros:

We attended your Fawlty Towers dining experience last night and thoroughly enjoyed. We also stayed over. The entertainment was fantastic. The food was so fresh and tasty and the waiting staff were so well organised attentive and professional. Breakfast was good too. Our room was clean warm and very comfortable. I will book a sea view for our next visit.

Good
Pros:

Nice hotel right on the beach front. We went for the Sunday lunch which was very good. The only slight negative was the musicians (who were very good) playing were very loud so it was virtually impossible to chat as couldn’t hear each other, they needed to be further away . I would definitely go again but might have to be after they’d finished playing.
