Need more coffee and sugar in the room
Lovely, comfortable room , friendly staff and excellent breakfast.
Thanks to all the staff for a very enjoyable spa day at the Relais Cooden Beach. Easy parking, friendly, helpful reception staff and a lovely spa experience. Really enjoyed the steam room and massage. The service and food in the restaurant is always excellent. Huge thanks to chef Bart! Highly recommended
My Mum and I have been going to the Cooden Beach for years and seeing the renovations. We've been wondering what the rooms look like so finally, as a Mothers Day celebration we booked an accessible room on the ground floor, spent a couple of hours relaxing in the spa, had dinner in the restaurant that evening, followed by breakfast in the morning, and a cup of tea in our room on the decking in the sun before checking it. The room got a "wow" as we walked in and found it very comfortable. Check in and out was easy. Plenty of parking. Had a lovely evening meal and breakfast. Staff were friendly and helpful. We had a great relaxing weekend.
For £220 a night I expected way more. Checked first fail was I was given a room out the back by the car park and got completely lost as I checked in at night had to call reception as I was lost. Room was clean but just looked over bins and car park. Bed and sleep was ok. Then came breakfast in the morning. I had to wait after 3 tables who ordered after me got their orders. As a business woman who needs efficiency so I could get to a meeting this was a total disaster. Twice I have tried this hotel willing it to improve both visits were awful. I also used this hotel for a staff function. But that’s me out. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone
Everything,
We stayed four nights over Christmas. Reception staff were really helpful throughout our stay, and the waiting staff, although very busy, were professional. The hotel is stylish with a great beach side location. The Xmas menu was of a high standard.
The hotel really lacked Christmas atmosphere with just a couple of Christmas trees and handful of cheap decorations randomly hung around the public areas. Staying outside of the festive period would be ok.
We attended a group retreat at Cooden Beach and had a great couple of days. The hotel has a warm, welcoming atmosphere and was immaculately clean throughout. My room was spacious and comfortable, and meals and refreshments were excellent on each day of our visit – especially dinner.
The hotel’s greatest asset, however, is its staff. Sam and Rose took exceptional care of us all throughout - indeed, it seemed as though Sam was never off shift! Every member of staff we encountered was courteous, helpful and professional, yet the atmosphere remained relaxed and never stuffy or overly formal.
My only suggestion would be – get rid of the plastic flowers on the entrance – they do nothing for you ;)
The team are very welcoming and happy to help. Great location with great views when it’s not foggy. Good selection of choices on the menu and well cooked.
Nothing
Pleasant spot, Breakfast good.
No lift, and room quite cramped for the price we were paying.
The location and overall appearance
The lack of atmosphere , no engagement from the staff , poor overpriced food
Service and Hospitality was very good, somewhat remi iscent of how good good hotels used to be 10 Years ago.
Very difficult not having a lift for older guests, especially with second floor room 205.
Not great for myself recovering from a hip replacement and 76 years old with suitcases.
Such wonderful and personalised customer service. Bilal went above and beyond to create a creamy Cocktail masterpiece for me that wasn't on the menu. Bilal made me feel like I was the only customer in the hotel.
We stayed here for one night and had a really enjoyable stay overall.
All of the staff we encountered were friendly and professional, and the hotel itself has a really lovely feel to it. The decor and overall ambiance are beautifully done, stylish but still warm and welcoming.
Our room was excellent. We had a sea-view room with a king bed, which was a great size and very nicely decorated. It felt modern but still cosy, and it was a really comfortable space to relax in.
We had dinner in the restaurant in the evening and really enjoyed the food. The only small point was that £25 for a main course did feel slightly on the expensive side, although the quality was good.
Breakfast the next morning was lovely and very generous. We booked a B&B rate and I’d definitely recommend doing this as the breakfast was well worth having included.
One of the highlights for us was the small spa. Guests can book a one-hour complimentary slot, which we did, and we were pleasantly surprised to find that we had the whole spa to ourselves. I’m not sure if that’s always the case, but it felt like a real treat.
A couple of small bits of feedback, none of which affected the five stars we’ve given:
• A few extra teabags and milk portions in the room would be appreciated.
• The room was quite warm when we arrived, so we turned the radiators off. Even then it stayed fairly warm despite the cold weather outside, so it might get quite hot in warmer months.
• At breakfast it might work better to have self-serve tea and coffee, or alternatively provide a pot for each table. The staff were clearly very busy and you had to ask for refills, which could be slightly awkward for both guests and staff.
Overall we had a really lovely stay and would happily return.
