Flophouse Favorit in Sofia???
Pros:

closeness to railway station, location on quiet side street.

Cons:

the staff was almost continuously smoking and talking/calling on the phone all afternoon and night at the hotel entrance. Although we had a refreshing rain and thunderstorm it was unpleasant to leave the balcony door open at our fist floor room, because of the foul smoke stench of cheap cigarettes and the talking underneath our balcony. Our request to stop, was ignored. A room at a higher floor with double bed, not available ( asked for it) Is this a flophouse....?

Worst hotel what I saw
Pros:

The only good thing is the stunning view of the city.

Cons:

It’s hard to imagine anything more pitiful.

The large family room feels like it’s straight out of the Soviet past, complete with the accompanying smell; you can tell it hasn’t been aired out for a long time. Everything is old, including the towels. There’s no drinking water in the room, and when I asked about it, they recommended drinking from the tap because that’s what the staff do.
And one last thing – the hotel is blatantly lying about the car park.
It says there’s one available, but it’s actually only at the neighbouring car park for an extra charge – an additional 15 euros
