Mona and the rest of the banquet staff served us greatly! Very impressed with the hospitality.
Everything from Kenneth who checked us in to Mona who was in charge of the catering our week there was nothing short of amazing. Don’t get me wrong the entire staff was great but these two were the shining stars of our experience at the Ambassador in Kansas City Missouri. Kenneth was extremely polite and well spoken and friendly as can be and Mona went above and beyond her catering to make sure we felt like family. I would definitely recommend a stay there. 10/10 with absolutely nothing left to be desired. Every single need was met and then some.
We had a great time, when ken met us at the front desk he was so awesome. Mona, jaja and Mia were amazing. We never had to look for anything the got it and said no worries. I would always stay again.
from early check in to checking out the staff was exceptional
the bartender didnt know how to make a drink
A few years ago we stayed at the Ambassador so we returned. It was a short walk to the T-Mobile Center.
When we checked in we and the fellow before us were not offered a blueberry lemonade that was prepared and on the table behind the desk. When we came to the desk the second day, the lady poured glasses for us and it was refreshing.
The hotel no longer provided a driver to take guests a short distance to an event or restaurant and they no longer made the warm cookies that were there for guests as they went to their rooms for the night.
We had some difficulty with the safe in the first room. Dominick/Dominique (not certain of the spelling) came to the room twice to repair it but finally was gracious and had the hotel find another room for us. He remembered us at theT-Mobile Center and reached out us. He was also at the elevator when we checked out and spoke with us. He should be promoted!
Being on the top floor did have an issue. We had to turn the hot water on for 5-10 minutes before the hot water got to the sink or the shower.
Notes:
One robe per room with no slippers
Bring lotion or other necessities because what was there was very small
Quiet rooms with comfortable bed
No turndown service
Water bottles were supplied
Clean room was appreciated
We enjoyed the upgrade room and the amenities it provided.
When we woke up our room around 7:00 am and it was 65 degrees. We moved the thermostat up and checked to make sure it was set correctly for heat. After an hour we called the desk and the receptionist Carolyn came to our room and tried it also. After realizing it wasn’t working she said a technician would be up to check it. We asked for a blanket and she brought a thin blanket and a mattress cover along with a space heater. She said he would be up about 8:00. Later she called and said it would be 9:00. The tech arrived around 9:00. He worked on it and then came back with a ladder and replaced the filter. It took a while but with the space heater it finally got warm.
When we checked out I asked her if we could receive compensation for the problems with the heat. She took off the valet fee. I am not one to stand and argue with people so we took that. We feel like we should have received more compensation. We are Bonvoy members and only stay on Marriott properties when we travel. This stay was for my wife’s birthday.
We were not planning to stop on KC, but got stuck in a a snow storm on I-35. We have a dog and it’s always a gamble to find something comfortable, road convenient and pet friendly. The Ambassador added great character to the mix! Super spacious room and
unique property. Responsive and friendly staff, valet and front desk especially. Loved the huge bathroom with the motion sensor under the sink.
Best Hotels.com stay in a long time.
Check in was at 3, we arrived at 3 and didn’t get a room until 5
We recently hosted our HS reunion event at the Ambassador KC. The hotel and staff were phenomenal to work with! Staying in touch frequently throughout the planning process reassured us that details were addressed. Staff were all friendly, Food at our dinner was excellent and the facilities are wonderful AND so quiet considering our loud Hospitality Suite! We loved working with everyone! Thank you Jay, Bibbs, Zia, & Theresa!
I recommend against this hotel because the neighborhood is filthy and dangerous. If you do not believe me, ask the 6 police officers in Kevlar vests standing on the corner on a random Wednesday night. The historic building is lovely, renovation well done, staff friendly, room above average, but you cannot walk one step outside the hotel.
Great! Service
Sketchy neighborhood. Better a few blocks away.
Keith and Lenny were amazing valets… highly suggest taking advantage of their services. Great service from entire staff.
