We enjoyed the upgrade room and the amenities it provided.
When we woke up our room around 7:00 am and it was 65 degrees. We moved the thermostat up and checked to make sure it was set correctly for heat. After an hour we called the desk and the receptionist Carolyn came to our room and tried it also. After realizing it wasn’t working she said a technician would be up to check it. We asked for a blanket and she brought a thin blanket and a mattress cover along with a space heater. She said he would be up about 8:00. Later she called and said it would be 9:00. The tech arrived around 9:00. He worked on it and then came back with a ladder and replaced the filter. It took a while but with the space heater it finally got warm.
When we checked out I asked her if we could receive compensation for the problems with the heat. She took off the valet fee. I am not one to stand and argue with people so we took that. We feel like we should have received more compensation. We are Bonvoy members and only stay on Marriott properties when we travel. This stay was for my wife’s birthday.
We were not planning to stop on KC, but got stuck in a a snow storm on I-35. We have a dog and it’s always a gamble to find something comfortable, road convenient and pet friendly. The Ambassador added great character to the mix! Super spacious room and
unique property. Responsive and friendly staff, valet and front desk especially. Loved the huge bathroom with the motion sensor under the sink.
Check in was at 3, we arrived at 3 and didn’t get a room until 5
Best Hotels.com stay in a long time.
We recently hosted our HS reunion event at the Ambassador KC. The hotel and staff were phenomenal to work with! Staying in touch frequently throughout the planning process reassured us that details were addressed. Staff were all friendly, Food at our dinner was excellent and the facilities are wonderful AND so quiet considering our loud Hospitality Suite! We loved working with everyone! Thank you Jay, Bibbs, Zia, & Theresa!
I recommend against this hotel because the neighborhood is filthy and dangerous. If you do not believe me, ask the 6 police officers in Kevlar vests standing on the corner on a random Wednesday night. The historic building is lovely, renovation well done, staff friendly, room above average, but you cannot walk one step outside the hotel.
Great! Service
Sketchy neighborhood. Better a few blocks away.
Keith and Lenny were amazing valets… highly suggest taking advantage of their services. Great service from entire staff.
Beautiful historic property. If you like historical hotels this is nice one. Staff was, without exception very good. I gave 4 stars because of the age and wear, which is to be expected, but might bother travelers who prefer newer properties. Great blackout curtains. The hotel bar was good.
Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Great place to stay.
Very nice, fancy. Our room was in the north tower, older with a lot of character. Very quiet I never heard anyone above or below! AC very good/shower very good bed fine. Only noise if from the street maybe get a room on the east side away. Expensive snack/drink in room, I just walked to the store on the corner and got my spirits. A little creepy kinda like a gantlet of possible candidates to mug you, just look like you own the place and you will be fine. Valet parking is best option, but you can walk to nearby bars/clubs restaurants. Staff very nice, polite. Free reception cocktail. Only complaint light to bathroom toilet is in vanity area and you have to turn them on to use toilet during the night wakes up others. Rooms have floral scent we did not eat there so no comment on that. Great location and worth staying.
Beautiful hotel. Friendly staff.
