i cannot recommend this hotel enough!
stayed here two separate times & both times everything was equally exceptional.
The staff are so friendly! Roshid was amazing & so helpful. We received nothing but kindness from everyone we interacted with, from front desk to housekeeping to the restaurant staff.
The building and lobby are absolutely beautiful. The rooms were very clean.
Also, the attached restaurant (Red Own Tavern) is a must stop. Incredible cocktails & food choices. I recommend a Monaco Manhattan & their Savory Mushroom Tart or Burger.
We are having a great stay! Hotel is beautiful and the staff is very friendly and accommodating.
The Kimpton Hotel Monaco Philadelphia is a quality example of what one can expect from a flagship IHG property. It’s conveniently located in Old Town Philadelphia right by Independence National Park. Signer’s Park is directly across the street, and the Liberty Bell is next door. It’s where you want to be!
I came to Philadelphia for a milestone birthday celebration, and the Kimpton’s staff made it an incredible experience. Not only was my room decorated, but they were incredibly generous and made my holiday memorable. Roshid was our Concierge and he was incredibly helpful and personable, he made sure every part of our experience was special. I can’t say enough about the staff at this Kimpton. Everyone was friendly and helpful!
The Red Owl Tavern is the on-site restaurant and it is a good place for breakfast, especially if you are a IHG Rewards member that receives complementary breakfast benefits. Their lunch and dinner options are also nice. There’s a positive energy in the place when people are talking and enjoying a meal.
The building itself is a historic structure, and has very interesting architecture. However, the interior has been updated with styling that is fresh and hip, just what you would expect from a Kimpton property! The local wildlife also enjoys the building, we were excited to see a hawk uses the building as a perch as it surveys the area. Look out pigeons!
We recently stayed at Kimpton Hotel Monaco Philadelphia to celebrate my husband’s milestone birthday, and the experience was nothing short of exceptional.
A sincere thank you to Roshid, our concierge, whose attention to detail and genuine care elevated our stay in every way. Roshid truly went above and beyond to make our celebration unforgettable. The birthday touches in our room, along with the thoughtful gifts, were beautifully executed; refined, personal, and perfectly suited to the occasion.
The hotel’s location is ideal, situated directly across from Signer’s Park and Liberty Bell Center, making it incredibly convenient to explore many of the city’s most historic sites on foot. This close proximity also made the overall value exceptional, allowing us to fully experience the city without the need for additional transportation.
We dined at Red Owl Tavern, which was absolutely delicious. The venue is clearly a local favorite, with a lively atmosphere and a vibrant crowd that brings great energy to the space. The menu highlights wonderful locally sourced ingredients, making for a memorable dining experience right on property.
From the moment we arrived, the service was warm yet polished, and the hotel itself offers a distinctive blend of historic character and modern sophistication. Every detail contributed to a stay that felt both effortless and special.
Our time at the Monaco was an absolute delight, and it has firmly established itself as our preferred home base for all future visits to Philadelphia.
A truly memorable experience, highly recommended.
Really good central location. Rooms and facilities of a high quality.
Nothing, everything was great.
We stayed at the Kimpton Monaco in Philadelphia for 2 nights . We were there for a medical visit to Penn and the hotel staff could not have been nicer. Since my husband and I were traveling with our adult son, I asked the Hotel if there was any way we could upgrade to a suite for more space. I texted them before I arrived and without hesitation a girl named Rachel upgraded us to a suite. Upon arrival ,check in was seamless and we had already been put in the system for the upgraded suite. The front desk staff were very kind and accommodating. The room was very clean and the entire hotel had just finished a renovation. We had dinner at the restaurant in the hotel. The service was great and the food was excellent. The guys that were doing the valet parking out front were very efficient and accommodating. I cannot say enough good things about the staff at this hotel as well as the service. We will definitely be staying with them again for any future visits to Philadelphia.
Q: Reason For Your Visit?

Soothing grey wallpaper in the room with fun paper in the bathroom, the feel is much more upscale than I expected! Arrived just in time for a very generous pour at happy hour, Synii expertly facilitated our check-in. Vibe is so fun!!
Here for a college tour. If this is where DS lands, we will absolutely come back!
Hotel was nice and clean. We went for our son’s wedding. I have serious health issues and also needed parking that had in and out privileges which was so difficult to find in the area. Bobby, the valet manager, contracted by the hotel was absolutely AMAZING! He was so considerate and helped is out with our parking situation. He was a lifesaver and made our stay and occasion all the more smoother!
Incredible stay with a perfect location. Staff super friendly , wine hour is immense and rooms massive compared to NYC , or anywhere for that matter ! Zero noise in room 510 can
The very good: The hotel is excellently located near all the places of interest: Independence Hall, Liberty Bell, Betsy Ross’ house, etc. It is decorated in a maximalist style with bold, colorful prints, eclectic design elements and Regency style furniture and lithographs. It’s definitely has a fun, lively, expressive and creative vibe, not muted and minimalist boring look. We received breakfast vouchers of $27/person per day for breakfast at the Red Owl tavern which was quite enjoyable. Coffee and tea offered in the morning from 6-9 am in lobby and wine hour from 5-6 pm was a nice touch. There is chess and scrabble in the lobby which are fun to play while waiting for car or other family members.
Rooms are spacious, colorful, elegant and have bathrobes that look like a great sweatshirt, a nice nod to Rocky.
The not so good: The corridors had a strong chemical smell, which fortunately did not extend to the bedrooms. There is no complimentary water in the room. The rug in the elevator cabins could do with a good cleaning. The coffee & tea in the morning and wine in the evening are a great idea but the guests leave a lot of cups and glasses behind and there should be more staff cleaning during those hours not just when the event ends. I was not able to go to the rooftop as it was booked for a corporate event that evening (no signage).
Our room was not cleaned one day due to a misunderstanding - we put the Do Not Disturb sign out at 8 am and removed at 11 am after we came back from breakfast. We left the room at 12 noon, with no DND sign on door and housekeeping in corridor doing the room next to us. Came back at 6:30 pm to an unclean room. Was told housekeeping had left for the day and that if you put a sign out in the morning they mark it as no housekeeping which is not what we have experienced in any hotel ever. They did offer to empty the trash and being fresh towels which I appreciated, but it was a bit disconcerting.
Perfect in every way. Beautiful decor, friendly staff, gorgeous rooms and bathrooms, comfortable and clean, cozy beds, close to everything I want to see. Great coffee and wine hours. Very intimate and private. Exactly what I was hoping for. Thank you!
Beautiful and lean room, comfortable bed, friendly staff, and good breakfast.

Staff was welcoming and helpful, the restaurant's food was tasty and plentiful! Also the location can't be beat and the hotel was ecclectic and lovely. Great for families!
Beautiful hotel, comfy beds, great staff with lots of recommendations! Perfect location for visiting all of the historical sites! The only issue we had was that they refused to valet our car due to it being a larger truck.
The location of the hotel puts you right in the heart of American history: Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, all within a block. The room is spacious and generally clean. However, I experienced very unstable internet during my two-night stay. The service is inconsistent: night reception was welcoming and nice, and day not so much. I witnessed someone asking the bellman at the door to point her to Independence Hall (across the streeet), and he had no idea what she was talking about! Housekeeping also knocked on my door the morning of my departure, despite the "DND" sign on the door. In
I can’t tell you how fabulous the staff here is actually from first phone call directly to hotel! I stayed here last year and had questions about getting same amazing view.i had the pleasure of speaking with Rosheed .. the most kind hearted man ever! I remembered his name upon checking in and he was there to greet me.. amazing he was just finishing up with writing me a note! I had told him I have to come to Philly for the famous hospital and oncologist for my rare cancer. His note brought tears to me eyes someone could be so thoughtful !! Anyway he did get me the same room and words can’t express what a lovely person he is!!! I had 3 different people text me how sad my stay do I need anything! The staff is incredible and they can teach the Ritz how you treat guests! We ate in the restaurant it had terrific food and service. A side dish was the best Mac and cheese ever! Breakfast to was a treat with thoughtful healthy ingredients. The view is beyond perfection its independence hall ! I look at it in awe of the view! Very quiet very clean and comfortable great bed and pillows wonderful bathroom too with garden tub and shower. You can not beat this place I promise. Great location as well as safe! We come at least once a year and have stayed at several hotels here and Europe and service here is better than any five star!

there was a wired smell in the hallways,
Good location. Restaurant was nice .
Our room was awful . Absolutely no light at all
Open the curtain and there is a brick wall . It was depressing. The sun was out every day but we didn’t see it . Made the room feel like a cell. The tv wasn’t working . They didn’t make an attempt to change the room .
The hotel is expensive and it was so disappointing. The check in was awful the girl did t care at all . Staff not interested.
