Amazing room views spectacular all staff were very friendly especially Steven on reception and the pool staff loved every minute of our 3 day city break and so easy to walk to the old town thankyou to all the staff
Wow! What can I say about this magical gem of a hotel. We visited it as a late 50th Birthday treat for myself and it was also my wife’s Birthday while we were away. We arrived and were given an upgraded room. Little did we know that it was an upgraded hotel which was an annexe of the main hotel which was the hotel we originally booked.
We were taken down a corridor and opened the door to our room and were instantly blown away. A fabulous sea-view balcony, large double bed with flowers, chocolates and wine on our arrival. The room was spotless and all the extra touches, like beautiful bathroom products through to slippers and robes were provided.
The highlights for me and my wife was the service level, which was second to none. Anything you needed you just had to ask for, from a private breakfast with table service overlooking Dubrovnik harbour through to advice on what to see while we were here.
They made us feel very special and it was so quiet and peaceful unlike the main part of the hotel.
The icing on the cake was meeting our lovely concierge named Adila who was a wonderful lady who told us about the history of the hotel and made us feel very special and welcome in Croatia. We can only give this hotel a perfect 10. It was flawless in every way. A holiday never to forget.
Craig and Vicky Ottolini.
We were in very well appointed and large room on the second floor with beautiful views over the coastline. Breakfast was served on the terrace with the same amazing view. Staff were incredibly helpful and spoke exceptionally good English. Nothing was too much trouble.
We booked a deluxe double room with balcony and sea view at Villa Argentina and upon arrival we were upgraded to a suite in the adjoining Villa Orsula! The suite felt like it had been refurbished recently and the finish was modern and classy. This was a great treat as it was my wife's birthday and our wedding anniversary during our stay (we didn't mention this, it was just coincidence). Aside from the room, the hotel staff were superb and couldn't do enough for us, the breakfast offered was great and the atmosphere in the hotel was very quiet and chilled which was exactly what we were looking for. Location is perfect too as it is only a ten minute walk to the old town.
Such a brilliant small hotel - the staff do an incredible job of looking after you with amazing personal service. It really is a little slice of luxury with fabulous interior design, great breakfast and incredible views.
Dubrovnik was always on my bucket list and friends have said it was for a few days. We booked 10 nights at Villa Orsua and thought that was about right for us.
Firstly Dubrovnik- a wonderful town/city with exceptional history. The safest place we have been in Europe- never once saw anything of any concern or even a policeman. Croatiam people are friendly, keen to please and all speak English which made the translation easy. prices within the city walls are toursit proces but not ridiculous. We wnjoed live entertainment int he city square, great food and trips from the harbour. The weatehr was perfect at the end of May.
Villa Orsula was exceptional. From te moment we arrived and met by Adial of Concierge- we felt immediately at home. The Villa has 13 well apppinted rooms and is very much like a large house where everyone gets on. The terrace where you can have dinner and breafast has outstanding views over the old town and the sea. We experienced some seas like mirros and windy days- none of it mattered as the team at Villa Orsula knew exactly hw to adapt.
A short walk down hill to the city centre and back up afterwards. You do not have to be an athlete but you do get exercise!
A rare htel that we would definitely return to but alas not until 2024 as the adjoining Argentia Hotel which shares facilities with Orsual is being re-developed at the end of 2022. Still 2 years is not a long time to return to paradise.
The Villa Orsula is a spectacular place to stay. You will receive highly personalized & friendly service provided by staff that really pays attention to even the smallest of details. Adila (concierge) was especially kind and extremely helpful! The Villa occupies a wonderful location and is a marvelous place to relax and enjoy. We are thrilled that we stayed here.
The hotel is very special property, and my experience was overall positive. I give it 4*
1 star is for the building itself. Old villa overlooking an Adriatic Sea - astonishing
1 star is for the best breakfast I had in Croatia. The food was heartwarming, and I loved the place where it was served. Wonderful terrace with a view of Old Town won my heart
1 star is for the hosts. I don’t call them “the staff” cause I felt like a guest visiting my family friends not like a client who paid for that. Also I got a bottle of good local wine as a welcome gift which was a nice gesture
1 star is for the room. Discreet luxury. Full of light.
0 stars are for amenities. I’d rather go with some local beauty brand instead of strange bottles branded with Bottega Veneta
Overall, it was close to perfect stay. Though quite pricey
The view from this gorgeous villa is stunning. The building of the villa itself is also stunning . Interiors are nice enough nothing inspiring .it’s very clean .
The victoria restaurant is really something special. The views amazing, the waiters are charming , the food divine. Also the bar is wonderful - again the bar man really charming and the views lovely , the cocktails are delicious!
Adila at reception is lovely and couldn’t be more helpful.
The only thing I would say is for the price they could make sure every day your coffee and water is replenished . I had to ask some days. Also air con is noisy and didn’t work that well . Never got that cold . Hairdryer ancient !
I also feel the gardens outside could be put to better use. There are areas which could have loungers for the day , could be planted properly to be beautiful ! Also we all felt villa orsula should offer lunch !
The bathing platform is lovely if a little crowded and the sea absolutely gorgeous!
Thank you villa orsula !
We booked through Unforgettable Croatia for a seven day luxury cruise with a few days each at Split and Dubrovnik so the hotel choice was left to them and they excelled with Villa Orsula (part of and connected to the Grand Villa Argentina with all its facilities) we had a beautiful luxury room in the roof (although ceiling height a little low around the bed area) with an amazing view from the balcony. The concierges were extremely friendly and there was a private entrance without going through the attached hotel Grande Villa Argentina. There was an outdoor seawater pool and swimming from a platform with steps into the sea, all with the beautiful view of the exquisite fort and Lokrum Island. It was an easy 20 minute walk into the city centre. Would highly recommend.
Villa Orsula is a worthwhile expense and was recommended by our real estate broker a local to the area. This hotel provided excellent access to the sea and was our base camp to explore Dubrovnik, the surrounding area and meet up with family during the heat of summer. The proximity to the old city is remarkable. Dining was superb and every person we encountered was helpful and pleasant. Driving to the hotel is a little hectic but so worth it.
This is a beautiful property with updated, modern, spacious rooms. There is an onsite conceirge that allows for easy reservations for trips/dining/excursions information.
This hotel is ideally located within minutes of several beaches, and the old town centre. The onsite pool expands into the sea, and the beauty of the Adriatic is immediately visible, along with cliffs and the beach. The hotel has a gorgeous restaurant onsite - The Victoria, the food is delicious and the views cannot be beat.
We had a balcony room, with gorgeous views of the Adriatic sea, Island Lokrum and the Old town with the stone walls. So tranquil to awaken and read out on the balcony while sitting with our morning tea/coffee.
The breakfast is beautifully laid out and prepared with care, large selection and again the views!!You can indulge in champagne daily along with fresh fruits, eggs, wonderful local cheeses, and a wide assortment of other items.
Staff is gregarious and very helpful, attentive.
This hotel is a must for those that want a bit of luxury, gorgeous views, and easy access to the old town.
I have few words to describe this hotel. Wonderful! We've booked the Villa Argentina and were upgraded to Vila Orsula. Rooms are spacious and amazing! The facilities as pool, sea are beautiful! Location is great just a short walk to the old town! Just perfect.
And actually this was not the best of the experience. For me the treatment given to us by the two Romana's in the front desk and also by Mrs. Adila were the best part of our stay. Really amazing.
The only point to improve is service at the Victoria Restaurant. We've been there one night and food is great. Problem is that we would like to drink a cocktail while dining and first waitress said it was not possible. That bar was downstairs.
But besides this minor issue, everything was brilliant and I really recommend this hotel!
And for sure, i leave more than special thanks to Romana's and Mrs. Adila. They are definitely the best!
If you want to look over the bay and into the Old Town, this is the one. Amazing spot with a private deck on the water to dive in and out of the sea when you want to. Its away from the main pool and deck so no food and drink service but not exactly a bother. Its just as nice to go to that side as well (they share with Hotel Argentina). If we weren't by the pool it was morning breakfast or drinks on the terrace. Stunning views. Easy walk into the Old Town. Rooms were tidy. Im sure the Suites with balconies were amazing but didnt see that unfortunately. Anyone who doesnt mind spending the money or lashing out on a special occasion shouldnt hesitate to book this one. All of the staff were amazing to deal with.
Amazing hotel, felt completely spoilt the whole stay. We were caught out in torrential rain and the hotel took our soaking clothes, had them dried, ironed and returned in less than an hour. Fabulous place, worth the money.
We stayed at Villa Orsula for our wedding anniversary in July 2019 and it was set in the most beautiful gardens and with the most stunning view we have ever had on a trip away. The service from the staff at Villa Orsula was first class and very personal, with every effort to make our stay special. The Villa itself is full of character and the decor beautiful. We would highly recommend this place!
Wonderfull hotel excellent staff wonderful food. Villa is attached to Grand Hotel Argentina. Villa Ursula is certainly 5 star. Separate Dining room and terrace for breakfast and a la carte diner. Villa Ursula separate concierge who was wonderful and couldn't do enough to make our stay enjoyable. Spacious large double room excellent bathroom and balcony overlooking sea, island of Lokrum and old city of Dubrovnik.
Grand Hotel Argentina which was separate but attached did not have the same standard of food as Villa Ursula. had to send two half meals back and whilst not charged not up to standard. Staff very pleasant.
Would certainly return to Villa Ursula
After 4 days in the heart of Dubrovnik, Villa Orsula was absolutely the best place to be. They arrange airport pick up/drop off at request. They personally walk you to your room or to breakfast or to a pool in another joining hotel. The friendly service is 5+ star. They keep a very clean hotel with excellent quality of linens and treats. The upgrade to a suite was a real treat and the Prosecco and note to celebrate our anniversary was a thoughtful gesture. With 2 balconies overlooking the sea and a view of the old town harbour, we really could relax and enjoy the beauty of the city from our room. The quiet hotel boosts only 12 rooms making it a restful getaway. Only 3 min walk to the old town. 1 min walk to a market. The best breakfast in Victoria restaurant, super fresh and delicious!
Es simplemente un lugar increíble. Y una atención Excepcional!
We just returned from a 7 day trip to Croatia and Slowenia (this was our annual father & daughter jaunt) of which we stayed 2 nights in the Villa Orsola, for all I could see, easily the best hotel in Dubrovnik, most likely in Croatia. More than that, it is not easy at all to find small (10-15 rooms) luxury hotels in Europe, much less so at such a level.
Yes, it is quite expensive when you compare with other hotels in the area, but that comparison is not doing the team and the Villa Orsola any justice. An apt comparison would rather be with Aman resorts which also make it their core competence to run high end operations with few rooms to the benefit of their guests who enjoy being in a beautiful place without for instance, being mobbed and harassed at the daily fight at the breakfast buffet or, later at the poolside. Given the prices charged by Aman (with which I can't find fault either) Villa Orsola is a steal.
Outstanding people, in particular Ramona and Adila at the front desk but also everyone else whom we met make you feel as if you were in an idealized version of home.
Concerning the time of year to see Dubrovnik, for as long as you care more for seeing the city in relative (at 5pm) or absolute (at 7AM) calm than to go for a swim, April & May are the months to go, maybe also September. We'll certainly be back
