The onsite parking was very handy as we were on our round trip by car. The hotel was easy to find, very visible even later in the evening. The location was very lively at the time as the bar was in full swing and there were a number of families staying there with their kids further reinforcing the family friendly atmosphere.
In our first room, we had two issues. One smaller one, which was that the window frame was not sealing enough, therefore we could hear the nearby (I assume) air conditioning vent. The second more pressing concern was the steady dripping of water from the ceiling, which we noticed only after a couple minutes. Upon notifying the reception, the lady on shift was most helpful and courteous and after checking the state of the room, she escorted us to a new family room. An upgrade we received for free, greatly appreciated!
However, our night was not yet over as there was a fire alarm nearing the late evening hours, which turned out to be false and the result of someone pulling a handle by accident. The following day, this was also handled very professionally. The Front Desk was up-to-date on what has happened to us, including the room change and the fire alarm and we were given complimentary breakfast as compensation on top of receiving the upgrade from beforehand. Very satisfied with the service
The second room was very comfortable and spacious (as it was meant for about 5 people instead of 2), the bathroom had plenty of amenities prepared.
The breakfast service was excellent, the selection was fine and varied enough for even a longer stay and everything was delicious.
If not for the leak and the fire alarm, the property was fine. Some elements of the building are seemingly "well-used", but one night is not really enough to judge.
This place holds a place in my heart as I went here since I was a child and it's like a second home. The staff are THE most incredible , friendly , kind and helpful humans! Always greeting you with a smile from the amazing reception team to the bar staff to the cleaning crew and everyone couldn't do enough for us.There is a gorgeous fire in the cosy bar area in the morning where we had our delicious home cooked meal and the locals dropped in for a friendly chat.It will always personally be my special place in Limerick as it holds special memories and l especially love the fabulous staff.
Nothing bad to write. If you want an authentic experiences with great friendly staff it's the place to go.Its a bit like visiting home.
This is an old traditional accomodation. The guy in the reception (sorry I could not catch the name) was very very nice and helpful. There is a restaurant where locals go in the hotel. Parkin lot is a beautiful comfort. Room and bathroom were big.
When we arrived around 16-17.00 our room was cold although the radiator in both room and bathroom were on. We asked the reception, they said it has a timer going off and on, they do not want it too hot up there (!).We told them our room is very cold. They said they will open it and it was on in the room. It got warm a little after couple of hours. During night we got up getting cold, and it was off again. In the morning it was on when we were leaving. The beds were old I believe considering I felt the springs in my ribs when I was laying. If you are okay with cold, and willing to experience to stay in an old style hotel, you should choose here.
Warm, clean, good food, lovely staff, excellent water pressure
The rain
Well used to staying here. I like the warm hospitality
Weather!!! This stay was undertaked during Storm "whatever its name is"
Very comfortable bed.
Breakfast was very tasty.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Nothing, the hotel suited my needs perfectly.
The hotel is not modern, which suits me but will not appeal to everyone.
Ristorante molto buono, personale accogliente
posizione lontana dal centro
I was pleased with the room. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were just the right height for me. That is unusual. They are often too high or too low. These were just right for me.
The bathroom was clean and the shower was great with two shower heads. The large one is amazing and covers your whole body.
Breakfast was delicious and I left feeling full and content.
One slightly disappointing thing was the view from my window. But that isn't a big problem because I was only in the room overnight. I stress it is only a very minor disappointment. The room was a little warm for me because I prefer a cool bedroom. But I was able to turn down the thermostat on the radiator and it was fine.
Overall I was very happy with my stay.
Everything fabulous place
Staff were amazing
The property a bit old-ish but clean.
The attitude from the staff member
It was perfect for our needs after site seeing and travel because we wanted everything in one place. Room was cosy, small walk down stairs into the bar for dinner where the staff and locals were friendly. Same for breakfast, staff was very accommodating and nice to see the manager get along well with his staff and give us some history of limerick and Ireland before our next stop on our journey.
