Our family had an uncomfortable stay at the Mountaineer Lodge - luckily it was only for one night.
Pros:
-check-in person was friendly
-Rooms seem to have been recently re-decorated.
-Shops to get coffee and breakfast were within walking distance.
Cons:
- No air conditioning in our room. In fairness, when I went back to the website, it does say in small print that not all room types have AC. We visited at the end of June and temps were in the 40s overnight to 60s during the day. We were unable to get the room temperature below 77F overnight despite keeping the tiny window open and the table top fan on. Even keeping the windows open was rough as there are trains coming by several times per hour and with the motel style set up you can hear other guests walking/talking/accessing their cars right outside the room.
- Price. The lake Louise area is very pricy in general. This place had a budget-motel vibe despite being >$500 for a single night stay right before summer busy season started. If we return, we would not stay in the lake Louise area again - better value to stay in Banff and drive.
During our tour of the Canadian Rockies this was our home base for three days. Great to have a first floor room with convenient access to ice and vending. Location was within a block of the tour bus pickup for the Lakes.

La chambre était spacieuse. Les lits très grands et très confortables. L'endroit est très calme.. spa intérieur très appréciable. Le petit déjeuner est copieux et délicieux

Enjoyed our stay at the Mountaineer Lodge. This was the second time we chose this location and will continue to stay here. Great Location if you plan to be 1-3 hours away to sight see or hike.
Staff was great, and breakfast is delicious. Great start to our day!
