Customers must always supervise their pets and not leave them alone in the rooms unless they are using the spa or bar facilities.

Mobility Requests-
Please check with us in advance if we can accommodate your mobility requests.
We have 3 elevators, and only 1 fits wheelchairs, mobility scooters (and prams).
The elevator that takes wheelchairs goes from our Lower Ground Floor, (Reception, Spa and Restaurant) to our Upper Ground Floor only.
On our Upper Ground Floor, we have 13 rooms, and another 3 rooms up 8 narrow stairs.
We do not offer disabled room types, but we have tried to make the Upper Ground Floor Rooms as accessible as possible. But please check with us before booking that these rooms are available and that they suit your needs.
Not all our Room Types have Rooms on the Upper Ground Floor so it’s also very important that you book the correct room type.
Also, while the majority of our rooms have elevator access, not all do, so again please check with us if elevator access is required so we can allocate accordingly.

Annex Extension-
Please note that we have 6 rooms our extension at the back of the hotel. Please let the property know in advance if you would prefer a room in the main hotel.

Housekeeping-
In recent years we have stopped automatically doing room services as more of our customers preferred privacy to a Housekeeper knocking on their door at 9am. However, we of course do not want this to get in the way of good customer service so-
-At our Reception, we have a glass cabinet full of lots of extra free supplies- help yourself.
-If you brought us your wet towels, we will exchange them for fresh ones.
-If you would like your room cleaned, please request it the night before and we will schedule you for the next day’s list. This will of course be free.
If you want your room cleaned daily, please don’t let this put you off booking. Just let us know on check-in and we will book you in every day!
Also, all of our toiletries are in dispensers as we have gone eco-friendly and limit our plastics.

Cots-
If you require a cot please check with the hotel that your room will fit a cot, otherwise you may need to upgrade to a room that does. Also please check we have one available and they are not all booked out. Cots are £10 per night, and we provide a sheet but after that ask that you bring your own bedding so that it suits your child’s needs. Alternatively, you are welcome to bring your own cot and then we do not charge for the extra child in the room.

Grade II Listed Building-
As a Grade II Listed Georgian Building, we are subject to regulations which protect the historical and architectural significance. This building is of a special interest meaning alterations cannot be carried out without relevant consent.
What this means... is that we have done our best to update the property to make it modern, clean, and comfortable. However, as we are not a purpose built hotel, we hope that guests bare it mind and accept that we have 77 unique rooms, split into 16 room type categories based on the bed configurations, room characteristics and size and view from the bedroom window.

Would rather get an Airbnb next time..
Pros:

The sea view was the saving grace once we have complained about our original room and was relocated here.

Cons:

Our original room was not great. Small for a family of 4, at the back of the property and no views. The rooms and beds were all old. The pics are deceiving.. The whole building actually needs to be refurb really. The parking out back was super tight to get in and was full so had to walk 10mins away to park (permit complimentary of hotel) so was rather inconvenient with kids and all the luggage we had with us. They upgraded up to top floor sea view at the front of the building which is much more spacious and liveable. The sofabed caves in, even for my little 6yr old to sleep on and he hardly weighs anything.... disappointing to say the least.
The Sea view was the saving grace really... Otherwise the rating would be much lower.

Brilliant staff, great location
Pros:

Staff were absolutely brilliant, very personable and very accommodating of our various requests - it made the stay really. The hotel is, and I mean this in absolutely the best way possible, a bit of a mad place, with a spa, an escape rooms, bingo nights, a smokehouse restaurant, a games room for kids etc, and a valet parking system that's a sort of constant game of Car Tetris - somehow the staff make all of this work. We normally stay in Premier Inns or Travelodges and this had so much more character. Really liked the private jacuzzi/spa. Also the shower in our room was excellent. Will definitely stay again.

Cons:

Look there's only so much you can do room-wise with these seafront hotels that have been there for over 100 years. Room (in the annexe) was fine if a little tired and not much soundproofing. I didn't get a brilliant night's sleep (although my wife did in fairness). But we were on a cheap last-minute deal, a family seaside break not a 10-year anniversary. I only mention this so that people don't give harsh reviews in future because they expected something different.

Mmm - maybe not as advertised
Pros:

Location and paid extra to get silver room with sea view

Cons:

Dated and really for the extra thought the room should have been nicer - dining room had very sticky tables and all you could eat buffet was non existent and had to order and not even croissants on offer over two days - very disappointing

Location is great but would expect cleaner rooms
Pros:

Location and beautiful old building, good size room!

Cons:

Cleanliness (bath towel with a poo stain, lots of hairs and just generally not very clean) and missing things you would expect - spoon to stir coffees and body wash in the dispenser

Terrible from the beginning, worse at the end
Pros:

I usually don’t expect much but this took my expectations to a new low. The whole thing was weird and my children hated it we like absoultey nothing about it and would never go back not even if I was paid

Cons:

Considering we were already apprehensive I don’t think the first thing you want to be asked as you go up the steep dark creepy stairs is “are you scared of clowns” usually I’m not but this was horrific. There was no ac. The windows didn’t open and 2 broken fans for 4 of us in a room is far from ideal we were in there for about a minute before our minds were made up and the sweat dripping from our balls did not help. It’s safe to say do not book the “family room” because you might not be the same family when you leave. The karaoke was weird and off putting and to sum it up it I will not be returning is an understatement. They were very accommodating about our refund but for some reason I don’t think we were the first people to not want to stay there so that was good but all in all it was disgraceful.

Great Location, friendly staff and generally a nice place to stay.
Pros:

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. The decoration was neutral and newly done. The shower worked well and the temperature didn't alter when i showered.

Cons:

The tea wasn't replenished once we used it. The Toilet paper was also not replaced so we had to take some from down stairs.

Avoid will never stay here again
Pros:

Location

Cons:

The Silver Double room was no bigger than a store room. Very hot in the room. Bedding was soiled and looked like it had not been changed. TV signal kept dropping out. Then don’t even talk about the hot water for washing and showering - constant problems and not able to shower on 2 of the days over the weekend. they keep your car keys if you pay to use their parking so they can move your car as space is limited. My new car got scrapped which I am very annoyed about.

AVOID AVOID UNLESS YOUR STANDARDS ARE VERY VERY LOW
Pros:

Location perfect
Nice friendly staff although looked very unkept .
There was 1 man in question with what looked like a skin condition scratching and then handing out drinks ,

SILVER QUALITY / GRADE ROOM
Room DISGUSTING smelt of sewage.
Shower was so bad I went a brought bleach to clean it , the shower door had pubic hair in it and dirty filthy surrounds , horrendous water pressure , the soap dispenser was broken , the toilet has wee around it and on the floor , room carpets were uneven and dangerous , windows hard to open and very dirty , bed was so small and poor quality it was so uncomfortable, pillows had no life in them , cobwebs stuck to the walls , furniture was dirty and shoddily painted, and wood work was dirty , towels were very poor quality.
The temperature was unbearable even with a small fan but reception did say we could have another one at an extra charge , it was beyond hot it must of been illegal !!!!! Even chocolate turned to a liquid.
Lots more

The food was nice but again the tables were sticky , the floors were filthy, and when you get your breakfast which is at the door of the kitchen door the kitchen was shocking with slit wooden surfaces, and again filthy ( if I had seen this on the first morning I would of NOT eaten there )
Juices were watered down so much I thought I got water by mistake!
The surface where you get hot drinks was again dirty , sticky and very unkept.

The uneven carpet on the stairs is so dangerous, as it is wrinkled up and again filthy, all doors are grimy the main reception had the same cigarette ends on it for 3 days ,
Uneven very very old laminate floor which was dangerously broken and uneven,
Reception had lots of clutter and clothes thrown over the chairs .

The toilet down stairs in the bar was beyond vile . Alain not cleaned , hair and wee over and around it which was more than 1 days worth.

There is to much more .
But all there excuses are is it’s a grade 2 listed building

Would have moved but every was full .
This was just over £450

Won't stay again
Pros:

Sea View

Cons:

Parking. The hotel charges £10 for parking but you have to leave the key. Unfortunately
they left engine on for more than 3 hours. Also parking on road which is managed by Justpark and free overnight, the windscreen was smashed. Costed me misery and £274 excess and pain for days.
