夕食のコース料理が絶品でした！妊婦用のお料理の変更にも対応もしてくださり、本当にありがたかったです。モーニングビュッフェや、併設されている「八十六温館」での食事もとても美味しかったです。
特にありませんが、コインランドリーを使用する際は注意が必要かもしれません。2026年8月に宿泊した際の状況は以下になります。
・使用できる時間帯が限られている（夜遅い時間は使用不可）
・洗剤が必要な場合は、予めフロントで購入しておく必要がある（50円くらい）
Across the road from the train station, it is a perfect base for the Nakasendo Way. The room was comfortable, with futons that the staff set up while we were at dinner. Dinner was an exquisite array of local food presented beautifully. There was a fabulous wooden tub in our bathroom that offered views over the mountains
The women’s onsen is a bit small, the men’s is embarrassingly close
Location is great, walkable to many of the city's attractions. Hotel is nice, quiet and comfortable. Staff is polite and service is top notch. The onsen and breakfast are excellent!

It was a bit shabby and run down; we were in an annex with multiple stairs to our room making carrying luggage difficult

The hotel has old furniture, and it is definitely not a four star hotel.The first room they provided was in the annex, not in a main building. The room had a funny moth ball mint smell. They immediately provided another room, but only after we requested for. The breakfast was nice; maybe a proper coffee machine will be a good addition, as the served coffee was far from good.
The staff were lovely and incredibly helpful. They even sent our forgotten bicycle lock to our next hotel after we accidentally left it behind at checkout. Thank you so much again for your kindness!
Unfortunately, the room was quite small, dated, and not as clean as we had hoped. We even found an old tissue in the room. Apart from the entrance hall, most areas felt outdated.
We were also disappointed that it wasn’t possible to get a second bedsheet, especially considering the price we paid.
The breakfast and onsen were okay, but nothing particularly special.
The breakfast was excellent with a lot of variety. It was delicious.
There were many “lost in translation” moments where the staff was unable to understand us and we were unable to communicate what we needed.
