Comfortable, excellent stay ,friendly staff
Pros:

The room was excellent clean and comfortable
Parking is easy
Staff helpful and friendly and we were located in a room that the front of the hotel with plenty of space
Cooked breakfast was very good

Cons:

I think they would benefit from offering a better selection for the continental breakfast
I feel there should be perhaps yoghurts and selection of fruit salad in a bowl such as grapefruit etc
Along with some pastries
Not all guest want cooked breakfast and cereals and fruit juice is perhaps to limiting

One to remember
Pros:

A real gem of a hotel. With only 2 stars, I really didn’t expect much, but oh was I wrong. The staff were lovely, the breakfasts were delicious and the location was perfect.
I had a great room, which was comfortable and well appointed, with tea/coffee making facilities and a fabulous power shower, which was winding this really hot weather.

Cons:

Air conditioning would have been a bonus as even with an excellent fan, the room was very warm.

Our stay was up to its usual excellent standard. Highly recommend!
Pros:

Breakfast was excellent … fantastic choices and everything was beyond expectation. Pam was her usual welcoming presence in the dining room as always.

Cons:

My personal preference would have been to have toasted sourdough rather than toasted sliced bread at breakfast. This is not a criticism of the hotel, just a suggestion!

Could not believe this isn't a 4 star!
Pros:

We were surprised to find such a large room. It was very light and airy and the fan proved extremely useful in the hot weather. The staff gave great recommendations for eating out. The breakfasts were ideal and you didn't have to wait ages for them, similarly at the bar for drinks in the evening.

Cons:

Perhaps more of a choice of cereals...granola of fruit and fibre perhaps but very little else.

Great base for exploring North Devon and Exmoor.
Pros:

Great breakfast, friendly staff

Cons:

It’s an old building so the floorboards creaked, room hot but there was a fan and I stayed during a heatwave! Had to have the window open and could hear people walking through the town after the pub closed although the England game was showing late! Probably quieter normally.
