Good breakfast
Beds were uncomfortable.
Balcony needed a good cleaning.
Food at dinner mediocre
Location was good , breakfast was nice and staff very good especially the girl in the breakfast room
Expensive for what it was , room was ok but nothing great , bathroom wasn’t very clean around the shower screen and vents really dusty
Location was convenient
After 2.5 hours talking to booking.com and 5 phone calls to the hotel I arrived to be told I'd booked two rooms instead of one. The cutlery and crockery was dirty. The breakfast was cold, over cooked and the same every day. Room service was just clean towels. Nothing more.
Far too few staff, bar not always attended and hugely expensive. Never felt welcome or wanted. Creaking floor boards in room above kept me awake until they went to sleep. Room was not what I'd asked for. Overlooked the bins and main road. Would definitely not recommend this hotel or area. Maybe try shaldon.
Great location, close to the town, beach and train station. The breakfast was okay and the staff were helpful. Set in lovely grounds with a small swimming pool.
Unfortunately our first room's bathroom smelt very unpleasant. We did ask to change rooms after the 1st night and they did relocate us. Also the rooms are a little tired and would benefit from a revamp.
Friendliness of staff
No aircon and no biscuits for tea not topped up daily
Lack of soap in shower
Good position
A twin room that could have slept 4. Very draughty windows, cold. Very indifferent breakfast and dinner, possibly everything brought in by outside caterer
Set in famtastic grounds very dog friendly nothing was too much trouble would have liked a walk in shower and air con but the weather was exceptionally hot fans were provided .food was good, excellent breakfast choice parking was easy and free great overall stay ,we will be back
I didn't like not completely opening the windows and would have preferred a walk in shower
Friendly staff, they always have a smile and offer great service
I've stayed here twice before, however, on this occasion I felt the money paid did not warrant the club room in comparison to what I had last time. The room was smaller, no air con, the electric fans in the heat proved little Comfort as the room was more like a sauna. Extremely uncomfortable heat. The hand towel had staining on it, and when I requested a room clean after the 3rd day, it was clear that the same towel had been picked up and folded on the bed, utterly appalling. Not impressed, and won't be staying there again
Good location a short walk from the town, the grounds are well cared for and a mix of suntraps and shady glades.
The pool was a fantastic way to cool down and relax- never too busy either
Our room was very hot in the recent heatwave- a small ( but noisy) fan was provided but not too effective
It’s close to town
Most hotels these days provide a bottle of water and glasses, especially when high temperatures.
Good
At night room was so hot yes warm weather but the window only opens a small amount I do understand safety go by the small fan was in affect just circulating warm air round the room that was the one big negative no
The location and the gardens are lovely. The staff were very helpful
