We liked everything about the hotel. Excellent location with direct access within minutes of promenade. Beautiful gardens, indoor swimming pool. Very friendly and helpful staff. A calm relaxed atmosphere. Good breakfast in a room with a view if you wanted it. Hotel was always a pleasant temperature. Diverse age range of residents. Good complimentary parking. Everything you needed in your room, very comfortable bed. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Also very dog friendly, which we personally loved.
There wasn't anything we didn't like, however, now we've been there and seen the beautiful gardens, we would definitely book a garden view room when we visit again, which we definitely will.😊
The hotel was very warm which in February was lovely. The staff were fantastic from the moment we arrived. Jo was fantastic, brilliant at her job but even more impressive with people and treated us like royalty. Amanda was wonderful too, we were surprised she’d not long started working at The Cliffden because she was so good and made us so welcome
I couldn’t fault it
Clean and well maintained .
Staff excellent
Nothing
Great breakfast
Out of season break which was excellent value for money. Lovely breakfast and comfortable cosy rooms. What makes this hotel special are the friendly, helpful staff.
A little tired and dusty in places
Lovely hotel, fantastic staff
Only one complaint water pressure a bit naff all the rest was brilliant
The staff were very friendly and the hotel is characterful. The swimming pool was a big plus for me. It is 15metres which allowed for some actual lengths. tHe location to the train station and town is very convenient and it was good to be able to park. I had a big bath in my room which was good.
Unfortunately, my room was adjacent to the main road and was only single glazed, so it was actually very noisy. If booking online, I would recommend phoniong the hotel and trying to choose a room away from teh main road.
Friendly staff, good location and grounds
Getting slightly dated. Walls quite thin so noise travels from one room to next.
Wide choice at breakfast, friendly helpful staff, modern good size swimming pool, quiet location with beautiful gardens and easy access to sea front. Clean and comfortable.
Room felt a little impersonal … blind instead of curtains, no soft furnishings, no pictures on the walls.
Location. Pool. Breakfast. Room
Close to the town
Limited parking space. They hadn't even cleaned the room, dirty towels and bedding as well as dirty coffee cups and glasses.
Serene was very dirty it was really out of date. The carpet was horrible. The shower was old-fashioned and you had the shower in the bath next to the wash sink I slipped in the shower and hurt myself and at night you were locked in by the night staff he would shut the door and put a cast iron black in front of the door. All the lights would turn off and I knew he was going to go asleep. I done nights for 10 years night staff means night staff and you’ve gotta be awake. You do not go asleep and locked the door it was a health and safety issue and something gotta be done about it and they were £10 a night for a dog to stay when before dogs were free to stay people who are blind have they got to pay £10 as well bloody outrageous
Nothing it needs to be shut down and refurnished
Everything was great.
Location and staff were spit on
One of the waiting staff wasnt happy with me arriving at 9.50!!
The breakfast staff disappeared at 10am, tables needed to be cleared.
