Pros:

Beautiful gardens

Cons:

Really hot in the hotel - no air con. Upper floors were even hotter . Windows did not open very much to allow any air flow - apparently for health and safety reasons

Lovely old building with great views of the bay. Room was very disappointing and not value for money. Staff especially b
Pros:

The gardens and the views

Cons:

The bedroom was meant to be a Club room it was a very small, very hot attic room would not class as a Club disappointed . The room was so hot had to leave after one night instead of the two I paid for. The bathroom only had a small enclosed shower with very low water pressure

Wonderful stay, wonderful staff, a perfect, relaxing getaway. We will be back!
Pros:

Absolutely stunning, the grounds were beautifully kept and it was a short walk to the beach and Lido. The indoor pool on the grounds is lovely and modern, and accessed by a key card given at the front desk on request. I stayed with my 11 year old daughter and it was very safe, including requiring a key code to exit when heading to the beach. The staff were very friendly and waiting staff at breakfast really accommodating. My daughter has a food intolerance meaning she wasn’t able to have the fruit salad at breakfast, it didn’t feel too much trouble asking for separate fruit and the chef went above and beyond, which we were very grateful for.

Cons:

Nothing, the only slight grumble (that isn’t one!) is that we couldn’t extend our stay due to popularity! 😂

Spent our 3 days at reception sorting things out.
Pros:

Absolutely everything. The gardens, swimming pool was just beautiful. Breakfast couldn’t fault. We did try an evening meal but did not enjoy at all.

Cons:

We only had 3 days and in that short time we had to move rooms. We were having a drink in the lounge and came to tell us our room was ready. Went to reception to collect our room key and be told what room number, we then went to our room to find it hadn’t been cleaned. I then went back down to reception and told them, they put us in another room for one night until the previous was cleaned. We then had to go back into that room which we overlooked wheelie bins and woken up with someone moving a wheelie bin at 6:15 in the morning and then next morning it was the dust cart come to empty the bins, obviously the window was open due to it being 32 degrees and the smell in the room from the bins whilst being emptied was horrendous and stayed in the room for quite a while. Avoid room 115

Perfect in every way.
Pros:

Excellent location with beautiful gardens easy access to beach and resort centre. Hotel was clean, pool was lovely, staff were polite, pleasant went out of their way to help.

Cons:

Due to extreme heat rooms were very warm even though fans were supplied. That’s not the fault of the hotel.

Medium standard hotel.
Pros:

Beautiful gardens. Pleasant and helpful staff who told us that they were well looked after by the management with sick pay etc, unlike most of the hospitality industry. Spacious room with facilities for the disabled.

Cons:

Very poor wine list. Of the 4 or 5 white wines listed the first 2 we asked for weren’t available. Menu was limited and unexciting.

Great location for our weekend stay
Pros:

Great central location with parking (subject to availability) and scenic grounds

Cons:

Shower although useable was not powerful. Room had no aircon, only; a fan was provided (and appreciated). Otherwise no complaints.

Very good , despite the comments above , will definitely book again next year providing we are fit enough to walk down
Pros:

The club room was very spacious and had a good view
Loved the swimming pool
good breakfast . Lovely grounds and garden b

Cons:

I went for a swim in the morning so by the time I got back showered and dressed , and left the room at 11.30 , I was too late to have the room serviced. Which naturally was included in the price .
I walked down to Teignmouth via the garden but didn’t know that I needed a a key pad code before I could get out the grounds so had to walk all the way back up to the hotel . wish we were told about it on arrival .
Didn’t like dogs being allowed in the breakfast room . They had a designated area which area ( which was the best part of the dining room )
But they still had to walk through the dining room . One dog shook itself right next to our table .

Never again very unclean
Pros:

The location was good with a path direction to the sea front

Cons:

The room wasn't clean, the cleanliness of the hotel was very poor, the room booked did not match the room as advertised it felt like we were stopping in an old person's room. No pictures on the walls no air con, window only opened very slightly in an atic room during a heat wave not ideal at all, room very basic no light switch beside the bed and the hot water tap very hot with no warning signs.
The hotel needs a good revamp I feel it maybe due to lack of staff for the cleanliness. There was cobwebs and spiders in the windows in the dinning room. Car parking very limited but we did manage to park for the duration. Only good thing is we won't be returning again. This is one of the worse places we have stopped. Even the daydo rail in the corridor was think of dust and the lift was disgusting

Pros:

What a lovely hotel in a great position. The balcony in our room over looked the sea and beautiful gardens . We had a pet cockapoo with us who really enjoyed playing on the grass. Breakfast was great buffet style. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Will definately return again.

Cons:

You could not fault the hotel.

We had a lovely stay and would go there again.
Pros:

I loved the gardens and trees, so beautiful. Also loved the walk from the gardens to the beach just 5 minutes away. Plus being dog friendly was a big plus as we could take our cockerpoo! I also liked the views across the gardens to the sea from the dining room. The bedroom was spacious.

Cons:

The bathroom was small and dated and the shower was a fiddle to get the temperature right.
