Mid Week Staycation
Pros:

Lovely hotel with parking, great warm room with comfy bed, large bath and lots of hot water, and coffe/tea making facilities.
Bar food when we arrived was lovely and reasonably priced, with a lunchtime offer of a drink included with meal. All staff were very friendly. Good selection of cold breakfast items, juice, tea and coffee. Would recommend staying here. I understand it is to be refurbished this month. Great location for all that Richmond has to offer, even a lovely cinema.

Cons:

The English breakfast - streaky bacon undercooked and rest of the breakfast deep fried and over cooked.

Yorkshire break
Pros:

Old world charm, with a nice atmosphere, central location, right in the town centre with parking on site. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The food menu was varied and a little different, we had an evening meal which was served hot and was tasty, there was a little mix up with our order but the staff were apologetic and rectified this, offering a free drink to compensate.

Cons:

There was an issue with the hot water, we had none the first night but the staff called in an engineer and things were fixed by the following morning.

Perfect for what I wanted. Right in the middle of Richmond, dog friendly with free parking.
Pros:

All the staff were very helpful, the food in the evening was lovely and breakfast (veggie) was exceptional. I took my two small dogs and the hotel were delighted to see them too.

Cons:

The hot water broke but they called out a plumber and got it fixed by morning. These things happen. Parking was a little tight but I have a quite big car.
